(Lestat Pov)

"Louis do you think I could actually be with this mortal?" I asked. What the hell am I doing asking him this? I suppose because there's no one else around.

"I see no reason why not. If you love her I would find a way to make it work." He said.

I buried my face into my hands. I don't even know the girls name and I'm already speaking of a relationship with her. I must have completely lost my mind.

"Wait a minute! What would you know about loving a mortal?" I asked. "I was a mortal once and I was married." He said.

"Oh yea." I said. I felt like an idiot for even asking that question. I quickly changed the subject.

We talked the next hour waiting for her to wake up. Not that I minded her sleeping. She looked like a sleeping princess waiting for her prince to wake her up.

Perhaps I would be that prince that comes to her rescue. Or I'd be the villain. Leave it to me to ruin things in the end.

"Where am I?" I turned around to see the girl standing in the doorway. "Relax Cherie. Your safe." I said.

"I'm not going to relax until I get some answers! Now where am I?" She asked once again. "Your at my house. If you'll allow me to introduce myself I'm Lestat. This is Louis." I said.

"Your the ones who saved me in the alley." She said. "Indeed. How are you feeling?" Louis asked.

"Better. Thank you for saving me." She said. "My name is Zay by the way." She added. Zay. It rolled off my tongue nicely.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Zay. Do you have a place to stay?" Louis asked. She shook her head. Her black strands shook as her head moved.

"I actually just got kicked out of my place actually. I was on my way to my storage building when I got jumped by that creep." She explained.

"Your more than welcome to stay here." I said. "Are you sure it's alright for a human to stay with vampires?" She asked.

"What are you talking about?" Louis asked. Zay scoffed. "I saw what Lestat did to that man in the alley. I've seen a lot of vampire movies." She said.

Beautiful and smart. She's the whole package. "Smart girl." I said. She smirked at me.

"Well the worlds too aggressive for me not to be." Zay said. The more she spoke the more turned on I was getting. I wanted her even thought we just officially met.

"So it's decided. You'll stay here as my guest." I said taking her hand and kissing it. I was surprised she didn't jerk away from my cold grasp.

"Such a gentlemen." She said as her cheeks turned a light pink. She was so cute!!

God is this how Edward felt when he met Bella? No no he wanted to kill her. I on the other hand only want to love Zay. Plus I'm not a fake vampire that sparkles I am the real deal.

"Oh shit! I still need to go get my stuff." Zay said. "No need Cherie. Louis and I will fetch your things for you." I said.

"You don't have to do that." She said. "Nonsense! We'd be delighted to get your things for you." Louis said.

She smiled. "Here's my keys." She said. I took them from her gently. "We'll be right back. Make yourself at home." I said. I saw her smile as I walked out the door. Lestat you are a hopeless fool.

There was not much in her storage building. Just some clothes, some books, a journal and a small jewelry box.

"She seems like a lovely girl." Louis said on the way back to the house. "She does doesn't she?" I asked.

I felt like my head was going to explode with all the thoughts that were running through it. I put my head in my hand.

"Thank you guys again. For everything." Zay said. "It was nothing dear." I said. Oh god I just called her dear. Watch it with the nicknames you moron!

"Lestat I'll be heading off now. I'll see you both tomorrow night." Louis said. "Ok Louis." I said as he walked out the door.

It was just me and Zay now. "So tell me my dear. Why did you get kicked out of your last home?" I asked curiously. Talk about being nosey Lestat.

"Landlord was a real bitch. I was a few days late on the rent and she kicked me out." Zay said. I'll go put a dead rat in her bed for doing that to my Zay.

Look at me! My Zay! What has gotten into me? Was I losing my mind? Or was I really falling in love.

"Well you can stay here as long as you need to. I don't mind at all." I said smiling. I prayed the smile wasn't freaking her out.

"Thank you Lestat. I appreciate that." She said. "It's my pleasure Cherie." I said. Zay let out a yawn. "Come you can sleep in my bed." I said taking her into the bedroom.

"What about you?" She asked. "I sleep in a coffin." I explained. "Like in the movies?" She giggled.

"Yes. Like in the movies." I said. I released her hand as we got to the bedroom. "Well goodnight Cherie. I'll see you tomorrow night." I said.

"Good night Lestat." She said as she walked into the room and shutting the door behind her.

I laid in my coffin long before I went to sleep. I was thinking about Zay. How much I wanted to be with her.

But the same question drilled through my head. How could she ever love a monster like me?
