IF YOU DO NOT SHOW, YOU DO NOT SHOW
Hellur my fellow social anxiety peeps!
I was overthinking as usual and I want to make an announcement of a realization I made.
I personally struggle often with the big question: To go or not to go.
Usually I want to go bc people asked me to come or I feel like I need to for the sake of someone else or even myself.
But I also DO NOT want to go because hecc I'm anxious as frick and I'll be awkward and frankly I could use a nap anyway so why should I have to go?
(To those of you confused, this is what anxiety feels like)
Well today (Wednesday) I remembered that a girl had come through the drive thru on Monday and promised to come back Tuesday.
I then recalled she did not, in fact, come back on Tuesday.
And you wanna know my first thought after that?
THAT LAZY SON OF A FRICKER SHE WOULDNT EVEN COME TO THE COFFEE SHOP LIKE SHE PROMISED AND SHE STOLE US BUSINESS AND NOW WERE ALL GONNA FAIL.
No, that is not at all what I thought.
My first thought was: Welp, she's got a life and if she doesn't show she doesn't show.
And then the stars aligned.
IT IS OKAY to not show. Yes, maybe some people will be disappointed, but more often than not, they'll think the same thing.
They've got a life, leave them to it ❤
If you really want to go, go for it! Make someone smile, enjoy your friends, fresh air is one of the healthiest things for people with insecurities.
But it is OKAY to stay home! It's okay to just relax and take time for you.
Oh what? You just took time for yourself yesterday? That shouldn't stop you! You deserve all the time you need to relax when you can, and go when you feel. Don't guilt trip yourself because: oh I took a long bath yesterday and that was my one time this week to just be.
BISH. Imma smack you if you don't start taking more time for yourself. (Tbh this has become a self pep talk lol)
Okay well, hope this helped. If it sounds silly or weird I'm sorry. I feel like rereading this could help me in future...
