When the Poets Pub first came into existence, I never expected it to last much past the first month.

Bella kept telling me to have faith, but I had watched so many other sites on here just fall by the wayside.

I just thought the Pub would follow suit.

Was I ever wrong.

Not only are we still here, but we have grown immensely and we continue to grow every day.

My original plan was to offer a place where Poets of all abilities could come together and share their Poetry.

To find encouragement and inspiration to keep writing and in turn help others to do the same.

To support each other and build not only a true community of amazing Poets and those who love Poetry, but to hopefully, somewhere along the way, create an atmosphere of family.

The Poets Pub is all of that.

We have a safe place where Poets from all over the world can share the same ideals and love of Poetry.

Where there is no discrimination,

no colour,

no religion,

no race,

no language barrier.

There are no age limits here and no feeling of not belonging.

We have truly built a Xanadu for Poets and those who love this wonderful literary form.

We wanted to find one person who best exemplified what the Pub is all about.

One person who welcomed and encouraged and offered their hand to every single person who walked through our doors.

A person who not only participated but encouraged others to do so as well.

A person who truly treated everyone as family.

A person who we could all love and respect.

I had someone in mind when I asked my family of Poets to join me in this search and I have to be honest ...

Nearly every single person had the same idea.

So much so, that after just a few days, it was evident who is the epitome of what the Pub stands for.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my great pleasure and my heartfelt honour to announce our choice as Pubber of the year.

A man who has been here from the moment we opened the doors and who continues to be a tremendous ambassador for our Pub.
