This is for those people who want to try their hand at making gifs in Photoshop. This tutorial will help you in understanding the basic tools to gif-making.

Step 01: Open up a blank image with the dimensions 700 x 200 on Photoshop and paint the background layer black using the Paint Bucket tool.

Step 02: Create a new layer and using the same tool to color it white.

Step 03: Click on the Type Tool or press T on your keyboard and type up the chapter title/header. For example: Chapter 1 or Foreword or Prologue etc. You can use any font you want and change the size and style as per desired. The color of the font depends upon the two colors you are going to use. Here, I'm using black and white - hence, the color of my text is going to be black [ or white, either is fine ]

Step 04: Once done with it, click Ctrl + A to select everything and you'll now see the dotted lines on the border of your graphic. Then click on your Move Tool or press V on your keyboard.

Step 05: This step is to make sure that your text lies in the exact center of your graphic. For this, you'll have to click on two toggles ie. Align Vertical Centers and Align Horizontal Centers on the Options Bar as shown below. Note that: This step is optional.

Step 06: To deselect the selection, click Ctrl + D. Now that your text is in the exact center of your image; duplicate the text by clicking Ctrl + J on your keyboard or right click on the text layer and select Duplicate and change the color of the duplicated layer to white [ You will not be able to read the text since the background is white as well. No worries! ]

Step 07: Just to avoid any confusion, rename the two text layers by their colors by double clicking over the current layer name. [ Double click over the word Tutorial ] Note that: This step is also optional.

Step 08: Drag the text layer White and place it above the background layer [ between Background layer and Layer 1 ]. Thus, the layer order from below would be: Black Background - White Text and White Background - Black Text.

Now we shall proceed onto the gif making process.
