On that Night

After completing all of her works, Pragya locks her cabin and came out of the company to the parking lot. She came towards her car and noticed Abhi sitting in the driver's seat.

Abhi: Shall we?

Pragya: I'm taking a cab.

Saying, Pragya starts to walk. Abhi lost his cool and got down from the car and walks furiously towards Pragya. He held her hand furiously, pulling her, making her face him.

Abhi: How many days you want me to come to your back? I'm fed up with your cold behavior.

Pragya: You hate me, right? Then, why it is bothering you. Just leave.

Abhi sighs.

Abhi: Ok Pragya. I know your past. But it is not the reason why my feelings for you have changed.

Pragya: Then why didn't you tell me about it?

Abhi: I felt bad and I don'...

Pragya: That only people would say as "pity". I'm not that week to earn your pity feeling on me, Mr. Abhi. I'm strong enough and I have proved it by building this company of mine by myself.

Abhi: Is this company and your money is enough for you Pragya?

Abhi snapped back.

Abhi: Don't you think that you need someone to love you? To care for you or to be with your side?

Pragya gave a sarcastic smile.

Pragya: I had people who used to love me. One died, the other betrayed me, and the other one whom I expect to see my love is feeling pity for me.

Abhi's face falls, seeing her.

Pragya: Can't you see? What I expected from you is love? Not this. Would you have been good with me even without knowing my past?

Abhi's mind screamed as no. He knows that at the beginning he felt pity for her, but that was not the case now.

Pragya: I know your answer. So please, leave my hand.

Abhi left her hand and she went from there. Abhi sat back on the seat and closes his eyes.

Pragya was walking on the road, controlling her tears.

Pragya's pov: Why he is not seeing my love? Why the people I love are getting away from me?... Before he came, I was used to loneliness, but now again I'm afraid of this loneliness.

From a high building, a sniper was standing, targeting Pragya. He was getting instructions from Neil in his Bluetooth receiver.

Neil: She is here.

Sniper: I too saw her and kept my target too.

Neil: Then for what you are waiting for. Just shoot her.

Sniper: I know what to do and when to do it. Just shut your mouth.

Neil closed his eyes controlling his anger. The sniper took his target and was about to pull the trigger, but suddenly, Abhi came in between.

Abhi: Pragya stop.

Abhi pulled Pragya's hand and made her look at him. The sniper stopped pulling the trigger.

Abhi: I know that I have messed up. But, let me correct it.

Abhi said and Pragya just stared at him.

Pragya: What are you going to say?

Taking a deep breath, Abhi started.

Abhi: I will accept that I felt pity for you.

Pragya gave a disappointed look. The sniper kept his target on Pragya ready.

Abhi: But... 

Abhi stops, noticed the red flashlight on Pragya's chest. His breath hitched, knowing the reason. Pragya frowns, seeing his worried face.

Pragya: You were saying something.

Abhi: Pragya, don't move... Just look at me.

Abhi's face started to sweat in nervousness. The sniper pulls the trigger. With a second, Abhi pushed Pragya aside and as a result, the bullet passes through Abhi's back. Pragya gasps and Abhi falls on the floor.

Pragya screams: Abhi...

Pragya was taken aback, seeing Abhi falling on the floor, surrounded by blood. The sniper and Neil get angry as his shot got missed.

Pragya crawled and went towards Abhi. She shook him, screaming his name.

Pragya: Abhi...

Her eyes were pouring tears, seeing him like that. Pragya gave a disbelief look, seeing him smiling at her.

Pragya: Why? Why did you do this?

Pragya whispered under her breath. Giving a week smile, Abhi wiped her tears.

Abhi whispered: I'm fine.

Without waiting for a second, Pragya called the ambulance and admits Abhi to the hospital.

Pragya took Abhi to the hospital and admits him there. The doctors came and took him to the operation theatre, whereas Pragya was sitting outside, broken. She noticed doctors and nurses rushing inside and outside the operation room, but nothing went into her mind. She was sitting like a lifeless body.

After the operation, the doctor came out of the operation room and Pragya went towards him.

Pragya: How is he?

Doctor: Don't worry Mrs. Pragya. He is out of danger. He would be fine. You can go and see him.

Saying it, the doctor went from there. Sighing a relief breath, Pragya went inside the room and saw Abhi, who was lying unconscious. Wiping her tears, Pragya went towards him and caressed his head lovingly.

Pragya's pov: I'm sorry Abhi. Because of me only, you are here like this. My life is filled with dangers and I'm used to it. I can't allow it to affect you. I'm selfish, but not that much to risk your life. You would be safe if I'm away from you. So, I'm leaving you, Abhi. Goodbye.

Kissing his forehead for one last time, Pragya came out of the room. Controlling her tears, Pragya took her mobile and called Purab asking him to come to the hospital.

Purab came to the hospital rushing and saw Pragya standing there, broken.

Purab: Ma'am, how is he?

Pragya: The doctor said that he would be fine.

Purab sighs a relief breath.

Pragya: Have you informed his mother?

Purab: Yes ma'am. They are on their way.

Pragya: Can you do me a favor?

Purab: Yes.

Pragya: After he wakes up, say to him that he is free from me from now on. It's over.

Purab was taken aback, hearing her.

Purab: Means?

Pragya: I'm breaking this marriage. Anyhow he hates me and he was waiting for this moment. He can leave me, Purab.

Purab was standing there, blinking at her.

Pragya: I'm leaving for the US today night for a client meeting. Please take care of him and I have paid the hospital bill too. So, no worries.

Pragya said and went from there. And Purab didn't have the courage to stop her.
