Bryce was thrown to his knees in front of a group of men who didn't look pretty at all; gas masks seemed to stare down at them with hatred as well as mockery. He dared to look them in the eyes as they began to strip of their masks revealing deadly faces. The leader smirked as he stared at his sister with amusement and something else which gave Bryce a bad feeling.
"I'm survived you're still alive love," he knelt down to her and rested his finger under her chin, pulling her face up so her eyes locked with his. "I haven't seen a woman in–"
"Don't touch her!"
He looked to the left where Bryce sat glaring nothing but daggers at him giving him an idea. "Awe chill out mate, she's not going anywhere. I'm sure you've had your fun..so why not let us? I mean we're all men here right?" The man smiled widely as his men kicked the blonde in the back causing him to land face first on the wooden floor of the hut. "Bryce!" Meg cried out as her head jerked from his grip to her brother who had let out a groan. "Aye! I'm right here bitch! Look at me!"
Meg's head was jerked back and her gaze settled with his for what seemed like an eternity. Watching him smirk made her glare.
"I'm going to have fun with you girlie."
"To hell you will," she spat in his face after those words left his lips and he grabbed her neck before throwing her forward and watching as she hit the floor with a cry. He was glaring at her from behind, his hands grasped the back of her hair, until he finally pulled her up so his lips were resting against her ear. "If you want to see another day you better shut that mouth." His growl was low and dangerous but she only snickered at him.
Bryce felt someone grab him and pull him upright where they were facing each other and it was like staring death dead in the eyes. "Take him down to the jail, her too. We'll have fun with her later." He watched as the man nodded and sat him on his feet. Bryce stumbled forward when the man gave him a shove forward towards the outside.
In the jail they sat for hours until they finally came to take his sister away. All he could do was watch since his hands were tied and his body felt too weak to move. All he could do was pray to whoever was above him that she'd be safe. He closed his eyes and drifted to sleep in the cell of sorrow.
Explosions.
That exactly what caused Bryce's blue eyes to snap open in panic after falling asleep. It wasn't the ground that rumbled below him or the sound of yelling but the sound of explosions. Everything was blurry at first but he could remember that voice, that nasty voice of the man who once held him captive, telling him to go. It wasn't Ryan of anyone from the group he knew but the Canadian who he thought he'd never come to thank. It was Evan.
He pulled himself to his feet as the Canadian ran out of the jail and onto the flamed street outside. Of course Bryce had to gain consensus of everything around him but once he did his mind jerked to his sister who was taken from him. The blonde ran out the metal door only to have his legs jerk go a stop at the sight.
Guns were firing at men from the VC and the GS but if the infected didn't get you then they would for sure. But that's not what caught his attention, the girl running to him with a busted nose is what grabbed his attention. He quickly caught her in his embrace but she was screaming something he couldn't understand.
Before he knew it they were broke out in a sprint, running from the man that captured them. "Run! Don't look back Meg!" He called to his sister who stumbled a little. His gaze never left her blonde hair that seemed to bounce with each movement she made until a gun shot echoed loudly through the night sky.
Everything for him went silent as his sisters body hit the ground.
