Chapter Thirteen
Yoongi
"Min Yoongi, you have opened our eyes." The tall man in front of me said to me. "Congrats. You have been given the chance to speak yourself." He smiled at me and shook my hand.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Speak myself?" I questioned.
He nodded his head. "You haven't seen the articles? The media has gone wild with you and your boyfriend. Seems like the LGBT community is stepping up as well." He said.
My mouth hung open.
I never have time to look at media. Is that really happening? What's going on?
"That's great." I bit my lip to hide my smile a little. "But.. Who will I speak to about this?"
——
"Is that the fucking president?" Jeon's eyes widened. "Yoongi, this is crazy—"
"Shut up," I nudged him and grabbed his hand, walking towards the building. The man was standing straight ahead of us fixing his glasses on his face. Jungkook sighed at me.
Once we got closer to the president, Jeon smiled weakly and gripped onto my hand tighter, making me clench my fist.
"Good afternoon, Mr. President."
(A/N: I'm not using nAmEs)
"Same to you, Mr. Min." He said with a smile on his face. I reached out my free hand and shook his. There was a tight grip before I let go.
Jungkook unraveled his fingers from my hand and shook the presidents hand as well.
"Please follow me." He nodded his head in the direction of the building behind him. I couldn't help but be nervous as I grabbed Jeon's hand again. He squeezed it tightly once again.
Is he scared too?
The president showed us to a huge room. It had a bunch of seats placed at a long table, and there was a big chandelier above the table.
And I thought that I was rich.
"Have a seat." The president said as he sat at the head chair. Me and Jungkook sat side by side, and we still held hands even though the president couldn't see it. "So, do you care to explain what the media hype is about?"
"No, Mr. President. Not at all." I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. "Uhm- you see.." I bit my lip as I looked at him. Fuck. "Uh-"
"Mr. President," Jungkook spoke up with a smile on his face. "My little Yoongi is very nervous. Allow me to explain." He sat up straight. "Yoongi and I have been in a relationship for a while now. We would love to take things to another level. Many others would agree that we should have the rights to get married just as much as anyone else does."
"I agree," the president said. I gripped onto Jungkook's hand harder than ever, turning it white. "Numerous people have explained to me this very thing. I have actually considered making it legal, but it just never got to that point. I've always been too busy." He smiled.
Jungkook looked at me and smiled.
"Sounds like someone I know." Jungkook smirked at me. I smiled down at the table.
"I'm very glad that you agree, Mr. President." I stood up from my seat and shook his hand.
"I will consider yours and other's feelings." He smiled back at me with a genuine smile. "Thank you for opening my eyes on things. The media has really convinced me." He laughed.
I smiled back at him and nodded.
"Thank you for considering this."
——
"Yoongi!~" Jungkook whined as he sat in my office chair. I rolled my eyes as I walked in.
"My chair." I dragged him off. He fell to the ground with a pout as he looked up at me.
He crossed his legs as he sat on the floor. "Can I try something, Yoongi?" He asked me. I furrowed my eyebrows as I sat in my desk chair. "What do you want from me?" I asked.
"Let me use one of the studio rooms." He stood up and smacked his hands together. "Please? Show me how things work. It won't take long, and I want to try. I want to sing." He said. I looked up at him and sighed.
"You want to sing?" I asked. "Sing what?"
"Anything." He smiled.
I puckered my lips and squinted my eyes. "Anything?" I asked him. He nodded.
"Anything."
——
I handed Jungkook a piece of paper. "I'll show you the accompaniment. And I'll show you what one of the group members sang." I said.
"Group members?" He questioned as he stood at the mic, headphones in his hands.
I nodded as I pressed buttons and switches. "Yes, Jeon. This is a music entertainment company." I rolled my eyes. "Were you expecting me to not have an entertainer?"
"Well—"
"Put the headphones on." I said.
Jungkook squinted at me, but put the headphones on nonetheless. I turned on the music and Jungkook almost threw the headphones across the room as he screamed.
"Jesus, Yoongi!" He whined as he caught the headphones by its cord. I clenched my fists, But unclenched them when he pouted up at me. "Why did you have the volume so loud?"
I looked down at the volume and my mouth hung open. "Oh shit," I laughed. The volume was on max and that shit is loud on max.
Jeon pouted once again when I turned the volume down. I wiped my smile away and looked up at him. "There you go." I restarted the music for him. He put the headphones on.
"That's better!" He accidentally yelled over the loud music. I flinched at the loudness, but still watched him as he listened. When the music was over, he sat the lyric sheet on a table.
"I need to listen to this a few times." He took off his headphones. "It's a good song. The person singing has a really good voice, too."
He looked at the ground and smiled weakly.
"I'm sure you do too, Jeon." I said.
He looked up at me and smiled. "You can go back to work. I'll come get you when I'm ready, I just need you to show me how to replay the song." He stood next to me and looked at the computer. I rolled my eyes as he stood over me.
"Jeon, it's literally a replay button." I said.
"Well dang, everything else looks like rocket science." He shrugged. "I didn't know."
I smiled as I placed the clicker over the replay button. I looked up to see Jungkook mere inches away from me. He flinched and moved backwards at my sudden move. "Sorry."
"You're fine." I looked up into his wide eyes. "Just come get me when you're ready to sing."
"Okay." He smiled as I left the room.
