3- The Contract
Hinata gripped the contract with both hands reading each word carefully. A soft amused smile lifted her lips as her intelligent eyes processed the implication of Gojo Satoru's words.
Stiffening in her seat she scanned over a specific clause.
'The contractee will have to work a minimum of 3 days per week as a Jujutsu Sorcerer.'
"Yes!" She whispered under her breath.
She didn't have to read more, Hinata made her mind up after reading that particular clause.
Skimming through the rest of the contract she penned her signature with a look of amused glee.
"You're one funny guy, Gojo Satoru." She mumbled under her breath as she set her pen down.
By the evening a message to the Gojo's was sent with her approval of the contract. Shoichi Gojo, the current clan leader invited the Sohma's to join them that weekend, in the hopes of furthering this proposal into a marriage alliance.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Gojo Satoru procrastinated his entry for as long as he could. The Sorcerer arrived at the Gojo clan two hours late and then spent an additional forty minutes bathing before lounging in his room.
Enjoying the time off bestowed on him, the tired Sorcerer reclined with a bag of marshmallows while lazily swiping the screen of his phone.
Ignoring the knock on his door and the nervous maids voice he mindlessly aligned colour sweets that lit up his screen.
The sight of them exploding dramatically bringing a sense of relief to the frustrated Sorcerer.
"Satoru-bocchan the Sohma's will be here in a few minutes." His an older attendant called through the door in vain.
"Ehehehe..." He stuffed another pink marshmallow in his mouth while the screen lit up going berserk with lines and rows of sweets aligning to form special candies at the end of the game.
Halfway through his bag of sweets and his seventh level up, the door of his room slid open abruptly revealing a poised lady standing with a displeased frown that was identical to his own.
Side-eyeing the door he straightened up with lightning reflexes.
"Kaa-san! What are you doing here?" He asked standing up to greet his mother.
The thin middle aged lady stood with refined grace that spoke of her status as the Gojo's daughter-in-law.
Dressed in a pretty blue and white floral kimono, with her brown hair swept up into a neat bun, his mother lifted a thin, long brow up at him with a look of expectancy.
"Why aren't you dressed yet Satoru?" She asked in a soft voice that denied the hard look on her face.
"I was just going to Kaa-san." He lied avoiding her firm gaze.
"The Sohma's have arrived and you were expected to receive them with us." She continued her tone chideful and firm yet still mellow.
Taking a step in she reached out to run her hand through his snowy hair. Her eyes crinkled with silent concern.
Since the day Satoru was born, he was surrounded by Sorcerers and tutors to ensure a pedigree upbringing.
Over time his mother realized that her son would need a silent strength alongside him and not coddling.
She knew better than to goad him like the elders and instead wordlessly showed her support.
Her eyes flickered with a moments hesitation before she spoke guardedly.
"Hinata seems like a lovely girl. Please come and meet her before..." She trailed off her voice was warm and motherly.
Dropping his stubborn gaze to the floor he nodded with a spoilt pout just like he would as a kid when got caught out for truanting his lessons.
Turning to leave his room, the beautiful lady turned over her shoulder to speak once more.
"I made some kikufuku. If this goes well you can have all." Sharing a secretive smile with her son who widened his eyes with excitement she left the room.
With a reluctant groan, he stripped out of his sweat pants and T-shirt a few minutes later dreading the thought of meeting another girl.
The Sorcerer languidly wrapped the cool cotton material of the yukata around his athletic form. Shrugging into a haori his slid his shades on before exiting his room.
Satoru hunched his shoulders in defeat before making his way down the long hallway.
He couldn't help the angry pout on his perfectly handsome face as he begrudgingly made his way to what he referred to as his doom.
His bare feet stopped just before the fusama, inhaling deeply he prepared himself for what lay on the other side of the door before entering.
A wave of mixed Jujutsu energy clashed against his infinity as he slid the door open. The large guest room was packed with rich blooded Sorcerers, the air crackled with power that would leave normal humans feeling out of place.
Satoru swept his gaze across the room, getting a read of each person, purely out of habit before stepping in.
Shinichi caught his eye and nodded at his son who swaggered in, broad shouldered and confident, with a stubborn set to his jaw.
"Ah! Here he is! Satoru come here." His grandfather Shoichi Gojo boomed, waving him over.
Suppressing an eye roll through the white band he had over his eyes, Satoru lumbered over to where his grandfather stood with man close to his father's age.
Seeing Satoru approach he bowed in greeting despite being older. The man smiled serenely at Satoru, a handsome charm still clinging to him at forty years old.
"Pleased to meet you, I am Sohma Kaito." The man spoke in a polite, reserved voice that showed a level of intelligence and maturity Satoru craved to have around at work.
Switching his infinity off he shook the older man's hand with a tight smile.
"You probably already know this, but allow me to introduce myself. Gojo Satoru, son of Shinichi and Nagisa Gojo."
Satoru replied with a friendlier smile, relaxing a little around the man he deemed trustworthy.
"Ah come, come don't be modest! This is the inheritor of the six eyes and limitless technique! The pride of our clan and my grandson!" Shoichi bragged. He tried to clap his grandson on the back but the white haired Sorcerer quickly put his limitless barrier back up.
Shoichi glared at his grandson who smirked flippantly before directing his attention to the well mannered Sorcerer who took everything in stride.
'He's a lot like dad...' Satoru thought, staring at the man in front of him.
"Kaito is Hinata's guardian. I'll leave you two to chat more." Shoichi said merrily remedying the embarrassment he felt from moments ago.
"Am I not meeting the girl at all this time?" Satoru quipped with a look of annoyance which wiped the smile off his grandfather's face.
Shoichi's face contorted into an angry frown but before he said anything he would regret Kaito spoke up.
"No, no, that's not it. I think Shoichi-san meant chat more about the clan. Hinata was escorted to the gardens with the clan ladies." Kaito replied with a light laugh.
'If his daughter is just as perceptive, it'll make turning her down easier...' Satoru thought.
He frowned at Kaito in concentration trying to get a read on the man when he felt a familiar warm hand on his shoulder.
"Not here. Don't do that so openly with our guest." His father whispered in a parental chide stopping him from using his six eyes.
"I think we should let the two of them meet before we speak to them further." Shinichi suggested squeezing Satoru's shoulder lightly in silent support.
Kaito smiled in agreement a small dimple curving his face while his eyes sparkled with genuine kindness.
Satoru was taken aback by how
warm the Sohma Sorcerer was and only hoped that this girl Hinata was just the same.
Guiding Satoru out of the greeting room, Shinichi spoke in low murmurs to his son while they walked.
"Are you okay son?"
"No. I don't approve of this one bit." Satoru bit out.
"Just remember what I said the other day. Please be kind if nothing else." Shinichi urged.
"Speaking of which, why is she accompanied by her guardian and not her father?" Satoru demanded with suspicious frown.
"Her father, Yoichi passed away two years ago." His father replied simply.
"What?" Satoru exclaimed stopping in his tracks.
"Y-You said-" The Sorcerer pointed at his father with a look of accusatory.
"I know what I said. I said that Sohma and I went to school together and were great friends."
"Hnf! Deceit..." Satoru whispered, his lips pulling into a frown.
"You and I both know that if you aren't interested you won't listen. I didn't want to overwhelm you with unwanted information Satoru." Shinichi responded, holding up a palm to stop Satoru's oncoming rant.
His father had him at checkmate. A sheepish grin lifted the edges of Satoru's mouth breaking the odd tension that surrounded them.
"So what does she do?" Satoru asked his brow lifting up with a touch of arrogance.
"Hinata owns and runs a bakery of her own."
'Ugh how heroic.' Satoru thought with a dismissive eye roll.
"Her family doesn't allow her to practice her Jujutsu." Shinichi confided a look of sympathy in his handsome face.
"Why?" Satoru asked confused.
It annoyed him at the thought of perfectly capable Sorcerers being withheld when they were so short staffed already.
'Probably too much for her pretty head to handle.' He thought with a grunt.
"Does she even have Jujutsu abilities or was she skipped?" Satoru couldn't hide the mocking tone in his voice.
"Satoru. Don't say anything you might regret." Shinichi spoke in a firm yet soft tone, staring at his son with a stern look.
"I'll let her explain the rest to you." Shinichi added.
Satoru's hostile demeanor immediately melted, his square confident shoulders rounded down.
Placing an arm around his son, Shinichi led him to where his wife, Nagisa Gojo waited with his apparent 'betrothed'.
Spotting her husband and son she rose up from her seat and made her way to the two Gojo men.
"What's wrong Kaa-san?" Gojo frowned, noting the nervous shift in her aura.
The beautiful lady who was the picture of sophistication shook her head covering up the dubious frown she had with a smile.
"N-Nothing. Everything is fine." She said in a soft delicate voice. Her hand tenderly ran through the side of his head affectionately.
"You sure?" Satoru frowned bending down to stare into his mother's face.
"I told you to stop doing that. It's impolite to simply use your six eyes like that." Shinichi chided with a soft frown pulling his son back.
"But you guys are hiding things from me." Satoru pressed.
"No we aren't." His parents said in unison.
"I am just dreading the way you'll turn down this lovely girl." Nagisa said which made her son huff out a cynical breath.
His father giving him a thumbs up before placing an arm around his wife as they headed back to the receiving room.
Satoru suddenly felt queasy, as if he were a pig for slaughter sent to the abattoir.
Entering the tatami floored room he found the girl in question sitting with her back faced to him. Her pretty chocolate locks pinned into a fancy twist with a hairpin.
She was dressed in a shade of blue that matched his eyes. Thinking this to be one of her tacts to attract him, he huffed out a tired exhale which caught her attention.
Words dried up on his tongue. Lifting a long slender hand up he dragged his eye patch down to study the girl with such pretty features.
Soft rosy lips that pouted, her brows lifted up in curious arcs. The wind sighed, whisking the drapes up, carrying her perfume to him. Inhaling deeply a serene smile pushed his full lips up.
"Sakura..." He whispered her name as if it were a prayer.
'If it's meant to be, I'll meet her again...' He recalled his words from the other day, a feeling of validation and triumph coursing through him.
Standing up to greet him, the girl from the diner bowed in traditional greeting, a shy blush dusting her fair cheeks. Dropping her gaze to the floor she introduced herself. Her voice as calming as a flute played at night.
"Pleased to meet you, I am Hinata Sohma." Lifting her eyes up to his intoxicating blue ones, she shivered at the sheer intensity of the man.
"No the pleasure is all mine." He whispered in a deep husky tone.
