Chapter 32: Found Out the Truth

Taehyung was now resting in Jungkook's guest office since the effect of Jungkook's pheromones was still affecting him. To make sure he'd be fine, he had to calm down first, or else, he'd catch the attention of Alphas, who were incapable of controlling their hormones. While Jungkook was discussing with his Hyungs in his main office.

“Jungkook, what do you think you're doing?!” Jin asked him with a hint of disappointment in his tone.

“I did nothing.” Jungkook insisted on lying.

“You should've realized how serious the accusation is against you, right?” Yoongi who was sitting on the chair in front of Jungkook's desk, spoke and looked at Jungkook.

“That's what I'm saying, this is not a mere joke. They would do anything to take you down. You know how many eyes were preying on you. They would do everything to dig deeper into this hole you had created. This is their opportunity now, Jungkook.” Jin expressed his concern.

“He's right, Jungkook, you should know beforehand that people wouldn't hesitate to turn their back on you. Besides, this situation you are currently in will be the start of their scope to find out more about you and even worse, spread such rumors to ruin your image.” Namjoon agreed with Jin's opinion.

“I'm aware of my situation, I can handle it.” Jungkook sighed, running his fingers through his hair.

“We knew you were aware, we're just expressing our concern for you.” Hoseok joined their conversation.

“And, what are you going to do now? The authorities will surely start their investigation. You should know that not all of them were on our side, Jungkook. There were a few of them that weren't easy to buy.” Jimin stated with his arms crossed.

“It doesn't matter, if they were to intervene or not, I don't care.” Jungkook simply replied.

“Seriously, did you do it, though?” Jin suddenly asked Jungkook, looking at him straight in the eyes.

“I wonder about that, why don't you try to take a guess, Hyung?” Jungkook smirked.

Jin sighed. “Yeah, you definitely did it.” he knew, in fact, that Jungkook did it.

“But why would you do such heinous crimes, Jungkook? Did they offend you in some way or perhaps they did something to that omega of yours?” Jin inquired.

“I wouldn't be surprised if you did such dumb things just to protect that omega. But if he's really the reason, don't you think you're doing it way too far?” Jimin said his opinion. “Besides, based on his personality, I don't think he's the type to like that stuff.” he added.

“He's not involved, okay? I did it just because they annoyed me. They were paparazzi, following me around just to get a scoop of my life. That's it; stop mentioning him, trying to get him involved with my actions.” Jungkook defended Taehyung.

“Don't be so defensive, we were just asking. It didn't mean to point a finger at him but just to clarify things.” Namjoon stated.

“But even if they annoyed you, don't you realize killing them would be too much?” Yoongi questioned his action.

“That's right, Jungkook, killing them would be unnecessary. There's a lot of ways to shut them up, you know.” Hoseok agreed with Yoongi.

“And? What are you going to do now? The news is spreading like wildfire; if it isn't put out properly, it will cause huge damage to your reputation, the Greatest Alpha, Jeon Jungkook.” Jin said with a hint of mockery in his tone.

“I'll take care of it; just help me remove those news from social media. If you have to take down those publishing companies, do it then. I don't have time to focus on them; I have something important that needs to be done.” Jungkook told them as he stood up from his seat.

“Where are you going now?” Jimin asked, watching him leave.

“Going to check my mate's situation, he must be awake right now.” Jungkook said and continued walking.

Meanwhile, Taehyung happened to wake up earlier than they anticipated. He went to Jungkook's main office to talk to him but he accidentally heard what they were talking about. He heard everything and for some reason, he felt a knot twisting in his stomach.

He was actually thinking of leaving when he was about to knock on the door because he could hear their voices, but the sudden question piqued his attention, and his heart sank when he heard Jungkook respond to it. He just froze in his place even though he'd been telling himself to move because he didn't want to hear further explanation, but he was in the same place until they ended their conversation.

He just went back to his own senses when he heard Jungkook was going to check on him, so he immediately rushed back inside the guest's office, lying down on the comfortable couch to pretend that he was sleeping. Later on, he heard the door shut and he simply ignored it. He could feel the couch dipped on his head where Jungkook sat down and touched his face.

For some reason, he didn't like that hand touching him, after knowing what Jungkook was capable of. He could feel Jungkook's breathing in his ear which made him anxious.

“I love you, pup.” Jungkook softly said and pecked his forehead.

Taehyung realized how much Jungkook loved him. But still, killing someone just like that was so unnecessary, and he believed it was not just because they annoyed him, but he could feel he was the reason behind it, which was something he couldn't really accept in his heart.

“Everything will be fine, pup. So please, just continue to act like you don't know anything. I promise we'll live peacefully, like a normal couple.”

Taehyung almost flinched; the hair on his skin tensed up when he heard what Jungkook whispered to him.

Did he know he was pretending?

There's no way, right?

He was sure he didn't get caught, did he?

He just felt Jungkook peck the top of his head before he heard the door shut once again, which at least made him feel relieved.
