It means a lot! Whether it's a small recognition or not, it is always meaningful to an Author to see others noticing their hard work. A work that was made out of love, frustrations, overwhelming moments, and even sleepless nights as we try to find what we could bring on the table for readers to enjoy. I appreciate this opportunity and whatever positivity it will bring down the line!
1) What inspired you to write?
I wrote my first book in 9th grade and at that time, I was in ESOL, trying to learn English. It was a way to be focused, to push myself and prove that as an immigrant, I can bring much more on the table. Eventually, I kept writing since then, not to prove myself anymore, but rather because of my love for it. Like some writers would say, to escape the real world for a little bit.
2) What's one Wattpad goal?
I would love to see that my books are noticed, to have readers telling me what they think I could improve, what they like and hate in the story and so forth.
3) Who is your favorite author?
Solomon, the wisest of all.
4) What's your favorite snack?
Almonds.
5) If you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?
He's a Haitian singer, Wanito. Wa means King in Haitian Creole. So, I would ask him to sing for me and treat me like a Queen for a day (Silly, but what can we do? My imagination is not always sane).
6) What's the best way to handle a bully?
A bully likes to feel powerful which comes from giving them the attention they need. By refraining ourselves to reflect their behavior and talk it out can go a long way.
7) What's your dream vacation?
I would love to go to London and spend a week there with my loved ones.
8) What's your schedule regarding your writing?
To be brutally honest, I am a disorganized writer. I write whenever the thoughts come, and it happens mostly at night when I'm sleepy. Thus, I don't have a fixed schedule, sadly!
9) What's the best way to handle a bully?
Self-control and not keeping it to ourselves.
10) How would you spend a rainy day?
I would dance in it, just like I used to back in Haiti with the kids.
11) How would you celebrate a publishing deal?
I would have a dinner with my family and close friends.
Request time
Silent Past is the book I choose. What made me write it is because sometimes, we tend to neglect those who care about us, we take things for granted without realizing it. This book portrays what can happen when we do that. But, it's to you to discover how and why, and all these answers are inside of this story as you read along.
