interview #30 @RealLDNash

1 what's your favorite holiday and why?

Honestly, I don't have a favorite holiday as much as a favorite season; I love Autumn.

2 what is your favorite book?

This may sound cliché, but my favorite book is the Holy Bible. I have an inexplicable obsession with everything angel related and I've studied the Bible in detail for twenty years. There is so much hidden in that little gem, I don't think anyone would ever truly understand the meaning contained in those pages. Also, like can be said with every work of fiction, the reader gets exactly what they need from the story.

3 what do you enjoy most of Wattpad?

I love the anonymity Wattpad delivers. I could be a world-famous author like J. K. Rowling (I'm not saying I am), but when I post my work on Wattpad, I'm merely another artist, practicing her craft. It's not a popularity contest (yes, some folks make it that way) but an author's skill and talent really shine.

4 what's one tip you'd give a newcomer?

The most important thing to remember is that nothing is accomplished overnight. It takes time, work and dedication to get anywhere in life and this is especially true for writing. Don't join wattpad and expect to be an overnight sensation – it's not gonna happen.

5 what's a song you enjoy? Who is the artist?

I LOVE music period. I have so many favorite songs and the genre I choose to listen to depends on my mood or what work-in-progress I'm wreaking havoc on. However, one of my all-time, go-to-for-everything song is Hell on Hells by the Pistol Annies. Miranda Lambert and company make me feel powerful =)

6 how would you celebrate a publishing deal?

Wow, this is a tough question. I've been writing for twenty-eight years and in that length of time, I've had many publishing fantasies, but in reality, I'd probably keep it small; maybe have a celebration dinner with my family and keep on writing! Then I'd buy a reclusive cabin/mansion in the mountains somewhere with a running stream nearby and retire to live out my days in worlds of my own creation. If you could gain advice from your favorite author, who would you choose and what would you ask?

7 if you could gain advice from your favorite author, who would you choose and what would you ask?

The big names like J. K. Rowling, Stephen King, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Nicholas Sparks and Nora Roberts all have given interviews on their origins as well as offer advice to amateur writers. I'd probably want to go back and visit with Edgar Allen Poe, William Shakespeare, Mary Shelley or H. P. Lovecraft. These were the pioneers who molded the literary world into what it is today. These people would have some interesting tales and advice.

8 Are you still surprised when you gain a new vote, follower or comment?

Absolutely! I have a hard time understanding why my insane blabberings entertain others! If you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?

9 if you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?

This is an easy one. I would choose The Rock! The man is so talented and smart; I'd want to merely follow him around with a camera and notebook! Not to mention, he's damn sexy to look at.

 10 what's your favorite snack?

As far as I'm concerned, there's only one type of food – pizza. Hey, it qualifies as a snack.

11 what's your schedule regarding your writing?

Write what I can, while I can, when I can. There is no method to my madness, no balm for the chaos. I just drag out the laptop, open a document and start typing away. Sometimes I manage to knock out 10k words in a day and in others, I only manage 500. Then there are days when I don't write at all, and that's perfectly okay.

Request time!

My newest work-in-progress (and pet project) is Voices – a paranormal psychological thriller. Even though I've added a deep fantastical element to this story, it's filled with real-life scenarios that only those who've ever suffered them will appreciate. Mental illness is an epidemic and yet it's seen as a stigma in the majority of all societies. What is normal? What does it mean to be normal? I honestly don't think anyone is normal.

My main character Penny is shut away in an asylum, diagnosed with schizophrenia. She's heard voices in her head for as long as she can remember. She communicates with them and yet nobody believes her. They say it's her illness – a disease – that affects her perception of reality and yet, when strange occurrences take place that Penny couldn't have participated in, we're left to consider that maybe there is something more. She's guarded by angels and stalked by demons – the question is, which side is stronger? If you're looking for a thrilling story that will make you question things you've never considered before, this one is for you.
