interview #17 @Beaudacious

1. What's one Wattpad goal?

My Wattpad goal is simply to complete my story. Not that it's a simple task, because it's definitely proving not to be, but I just want to get my ideas out there and finally complete it.

2. Are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow, or comment?

Absolutely! I still get super happy when a new notification pops up on my phone and I appreciate each and every person that takes the time to read, vote, or comment on my story!

3. If you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?

I would choose Emma Watson because, not only have I grown up looking up to her (Harry Potter nerd over here!), I also believe that she is such an intelligent and kind person. I think I would just want to hang out with her like I would do with any friend, maybe go bowling or to a festival.

4. What's a good piece of advice for a newcomer?

Try not to pay attention to the numbers and compare yourself/your work to others. Despite me giving this advice, I definitely still do it and that's okay! The important part is to remember to remind yourself that your story is or your words are unique to you, and you alone. Sure, there are always going to be "prettier" or "better" ways to put words, but the reality of it is that you created that sentence/that combination of words out of nothing. Just like art, you started with a blank canvas. Not only is that scary when you think about it, but it makes the feat a brave one, even if you doubt your skill. Don't ever apologize for your writing, but always be open for suggestions and opportunities for improvement!

5. What's your favorite holiday and why?

My favorite holiday is Christmas, which I know is a really popular answer. It's not because of the gifts or hype associated with it though, but because of the atmosphere that surrounds the holiday. My favorite thing to do during Christmas is to admire Christmas lights with a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

6. What's a song you enjoy? Who is the artist?

One of my favorite songs is "Need the Sun to Break" by James Bay. His songs are simply lovely - all of them. But "Need the Sun to Break" is my favorite. In fact, it's one of the songs I listen to for inspiration for writing "Over Your Horizon".

7. What's your schedule regarding your writing?

I have absolutely no schedule and I love it! Yes, I know consistency is important, but I don't see the need for a schedule when it comes to something that I love to do as a hobby. In fact, I believe that a schedule would hurt my writing. What I don't want to happen is for writing to become a chore more so than a passion. Put simply, I don't force myself to write. I write whenever I feel inspired, even if that is at 1 am. xD

8. What's your dream vacation?

I'd literally travel everywhere if I was given the chance! My dream spot to go has always been Greece, though. The aesthetic is stunning and I want to walk in the footsteps of my great-grandmother, who stayed in Greece and who I was named after. Fun fact: Lena translates to "light" in Greek.

9. What's your favorite thing about Wattpad?

It has given me a platform to share my writing. I remember the days when I used to post Jonas Brothers fanfiction to Myspace. xD Needless to say, I still love sharing my writing and the users on Wattpad have been nothing but encouraging and awesome to me!

10. What's your favorite TV show?

My favorite TV show is a tie between The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. Because who can resist zombies and dragons? xD

11. If you could gain advice from your favorite author, who would you choose and what would you ask?

Definitely choosing J.K. Rowling! I honestly don't think I'd know what to ask, but I'd be curious to know the full story of just how she came up with the Harry Potter universe idea because it's absolutely brilliant and has been such a big part of my life!

Request time!
"Over Your Horizon" is my baby and the basis of this story is something that I've had in the back of my mind for years. It also hits really close to home, even though the themes of the story weren't even a part of my life at the time that the idea came to me.

I hate asking for reads, votes, or comments and I honestly don't have a solid reason as to why someone should read my story. I can say, however, that it would mean the world to me if you did! I read every single comment and appreciate every single read, even if I don't know who it's from!

Thank you to everyone who has given "Over Your Horizon" a read, vote, or comment thus far! Also, thank you to the wonderful profile that is generously hosting this interview book and to the lovely people at @TeamofDreams! <3
