interview #6 @AnnaNoel
1 what's your favorite snack?
Anything crunchy and salty- I love baked chips and popcorn. Absolute favorite. It doesn't have to be unhealthy- the baked lays are my favorite, and I make homemade popcorn with just a little tiny bit of oil, and some salt- no butter. It's great and honestly actually pretty healthy for you!
2 Are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow or comment?
I am, in a way. I won't lie, I've been on Wattpad for a very long time, and have had a lot of stories. I think that after years and years you get used to it- but I DO see every single one of them, and I DO get extremely happy whenever it happens. Like stupidly happy. I'm really excited whenever anyone loves my writing or gives it any attention. Any kind of comment means they care- even constructive criticism. The fact that someone cares enough to help you be better is one of my favorite things.
3 if you could gain advice from your favorite author, who would you choose and what would you ask?
My favorite author is actually Dan Brown. I absolutely love every single one of his books- there's never a dull moment, and even though they can sometimes get repetitive in the plotline, each and every one is packed with new interesting information. I would ask him how he researched what he writes about, and how he keeps his notes.
4 how would you spend a rainy day?
Either writing or chilling with my cats, to be honest. Or going to see a movie- That's one of my favorite activities.
5 what inspired you to write?
My 8th grade English teacher! I was going through a really tough period of time, and I was constantly told that I couldn't accomplish my goals. She saw what I had to offer and took me under her wing, and I started writing, I read more, and I created more art. She's one of the people who has affected my life more than anyone else. I owe her so, so much.
6 what's your dream vacation?
SCOTLAND!!!! I'm Scottish and Irish, and I really want to go.
7 what's the best way to handle a bully?
Kill them with kindness. Don't engage too much. People want to be upset and sad, but don't give in. Everyone needs kindness- and in the end, you will feel better about yourself, too.
8 what's your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving! My family lives in upstate New York, and most of my extended family lives hours away- Thanksgiving is one of the only times in the year when at least some of us are able to come together- and I absolutely LOVE stuffing and potatoes. It's like a carb overload in the very best way.
9 what is one Wattpad goal?
I want to connect with as many people as possible- not be famous or whatever, but just touch people's lives in different ways. That's why I have my guides and help people for free- I want people to learn something from me, whether it be life lessons through my stories (that I try to keep super realistic to how life really is for people around my age) or through how to create amazing book covers, etc.
10 what's your schedule regarding your writing?
Right now it's hard because I work sixty to seventy hours a week, but my full time job is at night, and I have a lot of downtime, so I like to write and edit when I'm finished my work and waiting for more- it's been busier lately so I haven't had as much time, but I really try hard to use the time given to me by my job, where I don't have anything to do, still productively.
11 if you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?
Oh my god this is so hard. I think I would hang out with Rob Thomas (lead singer of Matchbox Twenty). I love what he and his wife do for their foundation- Sidewalk Angels- with raising money to establish and help no-kill shelters. They founded the largest no-kill shelter in the Philippines! I would take the day to tell him how much his music (both solo and Matchbox) have helped me and affected me in my life (and probably cry a lot), how it's helped me through the absolute worst times, and also contribute some of my time to the foundation with him. I think he's one of the celebrities who have impacted my life the greatest.
Request time!
We Built This City is a story from the deepest parts of my heart. It's about loving yourself, individually, flaws and all, and loving your friends. It's told by three different perspectives- each girl incredibly different, and how they deal with obstacles. It's REAL- real issues that twenty-somethings face in life. Rent, money, social issues, how women are treated in the workplace, LGBTQ+ issues, and how people of color are treated. I want it to be something super relatable in every way, and extremely real, Entertaining while also bringing real issues to the forefront.
I think if you're looking for best friends in a story- this one is for you. It's for the younger people who need big sisters, who want great friends, and to be able to follow a group of girls and root for them and learn a little something. That's my goal- I want to touch people's lives with this novel.
