Series promotion: The Golden Series @StephRose1201
1. What is the title of your series?
The Golden Series; some of my readers call it the Golden Universe.
2. What inspired the idea of your series?
I'm still not sure; I think I was reading some Historical Fiction and wanted to dabble in that genre with characters of my own making. I didn't want to use actual historical figures, but wanted to use a real historical setting, which is why I ended up coming up with a Historical-Fantasy style plot.
3. How many books are in your series?
5 books in the main series, 3 in the first spin-off. The next spin-off will also have 3, and the spin-off prequel I'm plotting should have 2.
4. Is it the only series on your profile?
No, it isn't! I also have several Paranormal series, a Steamy Romance series, a Fantasy novella series, and some Horror novels.
5. What do you desire readers to take away from your series?
I want them to dive into the story, to gasp and scream and laugh and fall in love with the characters, but also to hate them. I want to bring them to a world away from this world, filled with drama and plots and fun and intrigue and romance and complicated conspiracies.
6. Is your series complete or ongoing?
The main series is complete, the spin-offs are ongoing.
7. What are your future plans for your series?
I'm waiting for feedback from Wattpad on the 1st book, The Golden Flower. I'd love to see the novels published someday, but they're *very* long, which would make publishing difficult without having to edit out a lot of parts that are dear to me. But I definitely hope to get more traction and readers and get the word out about the Golden Universe!
8. What would be a good piece of advice for someone who wants to begin writing a series?
Just make sure you have enough plot points/plot twists to last throughout several books! Plan/map out your ideas and try to keep your writing/characters consistent. Make charts & character sheets!
9. Do you prefer writing a series over a standalone novel?
YES. I've tried to write standalone novels, but I always end up leaving things unfinished and getting more ideas after concluding a novel.
10. Who is your main character? Are there any similarities between you and this character?
There are technically two main characters, though one of them is a bit more present: Marguerite. We have similar physical features, and I think we're both stubborn and fight for what we believe in. However, she tends to run away from her problems, whereas I tend to face mine head-on (though I'm always super nervous about that).
11. What does your character go through in the series?
Oh man, what DOESN'T she go through??? My readers will tell you I torture her and put her through hell, and it's not untrue! I can't reveal too much (spoilers!) but I definitely don't make her life easy and am constantly challenging her.
12. What does having readers for any of your stories mean to you?
Oh boy, so much. The support and comments are everything to me. The readers are the reason I keep writing and coming up with awesome ideas.
1. What type of stories do you like to read?
Paranormal (ghosts and the afterlife, mainly), some mild Horror, light Sci-Fi, LOTS of Historical Fiction (especially in European settings), Fantasy, some Romance, some Comedy, some Mystery
2. What type of music do you listen to?
I'm an Indie/Pop Queen! Lana Del Rey & Banks are my main go-tos, also love Snow Patrol and The Pretty Reckless and 30 Seconds to Mars, to name a few. I enjoy rock and classics and oldies, and even some hardcore stuff. Honestly, I'll listen to about anything as long as it isn't Country, Justin Bieber, or Miley Cyrus, lmao
3. What is one of your favorite stories that you've read on Wattpad?
Ahhhhhh that's always a tough question. I've always enjoyed novels by my friend @LittleVee and @OctaviaLocke writes some awesome Fantasy! And @MissKatey 's Historical Fiction is what got me to dare to write in the same genre! Stuff written by my girls @Kaiddance @NodaOrtiz @SevannahStorm @floranocturna is recommended for sure!
4. What do you believe is better for a story?
Quality, of course.
5. Are you more likely to check out an ongoing or completed story?
That doesn't matter to me, it's all about the blurb!
