Community Title: The Savant Girls Community (we're going with The SG Community as well because we believe "Girls" in the name might be misleading)

Why the community was created?

The main aim of SG Community was to provide support to Wattpaders. I believe Wattpad has evolved a lot from how it started out, and we have groups of people coming together here. There are graphic designers, writers and avid readers. It gets harder to find a sense of belonging especially when you're starting out alone with the app.

Hence, me and my wattpad friend founded this community back in 2020, through hosting an awards. It was our first time hosting and it was also the first TSG awards. The main point of the awards was to provide a review to our participants and help them to gain recognition. Back then, we had little to no followers so it was mainly about us giving what we hope would help writers a chance for their works to improve.

Eventually as time passes, it grew to something more where we are creating a place for wattpaders to create their own sense of belonging by meeting like-minded individuals doing similar things through Discord and Wattpad.

What the Community Offers:

A place that feels safe enough for people to express their hopes, passion and ideas.

We have two platforms currently, with Wattpad being our main.

In Wattpad, we have three main types of support that can help Wattpaders to grow. The first type is a book club called "Eunoia", where authors are paired based on a system and they will take turns to read and comment constructively on each other's works. The other type of support will be our workshops. Reverie Reviews was created for Wattpaders looking for someone to read through their works and offer suggestions to improve, and Opia Graphics was created to help designers get more traffic to their page and to let them gain experience based on taking up requests. The third comes from our awards, where Wattpaders can join as a fun competition and a chance to win some prizes. Of course, the biggest takeaways will be valued comments in their scorecards as a way to improve their works.

Our Discord platform, is a place for us to talk about writing, designing, and for us to manage our community. It's open to all Wattpaders. We hope to create a place that's free for everyone to discuss and support one another. Currently, there are many inactive members but we hope that more will join our Discord to keep it active.

Anything else to mention:

We support Black Lives Matter, mental disabilities, feminism rights as well as the fight against depression.
