Chapter Ten
Elsa
"Thank you for everything. I wouldn't be able to do any of this without you." I said to Jack, then went back to face the crowd. I didn't want to see the look on Jack's face; I feel scared. I didn't want to see his reaction; he might be mad or something.
I sigh. No matter what I do, or how many years it has been, I still have so much fear within me.
I force my eyes close. Conceal, don't feel, I think.
When I opened my eyes, someone was there in front of me, "Your Majesty. I am Princess Maridella of Corona, daughter of Queen Rapunzel." she says.
I am quite startled. I had no idea someone was there. I look at the fair maiden, she had long chestnut brown hair, prominent emerald green eyes, thin, pink lips and rosy cheeks. I smiled, "Pleased to meet your acquaintance." I said, curtsying slightly.
"My kingdom has heard of your loss. I am very sorry about your parents." she says. "Its okay. It's been three years now. I am quite over their death, though I still grieve for them." I assured her.
Maridella smiles, "Oh, you're so strong. I wouldn't know what I'd do if my parents died like that. So sudden." she shivers slightly.
I wouldn't know what I'd do too, if it weren't for Jack, I thought to myself.
Maridella and I ended up conversing a for a while, that is until Anna showed up.
"Elsa!" she calls out. Maridella excuses herself.
"I mean, Queen." Anna corrects herself, giving me a curtsy, "Hi. Me again." she says excitedly, "I would like to present Prince Hans of The Southern Isles." Anna gestures to the man beside her. He looked handsome, with his neatly styled brown hair and warm brown eyes, though I found myself missing Jack's messy silvery white hair and piercing blue eyes. "Your highness." he says. I nod, smiling at the thought of Jack.
Jack. He said something about someone named Hans.
"He could be with Pitch." Jack's worried voice echoes in my head. I need to stay guarded with this man.
I focused my attention on the two of them, Hans and Anna as they seem to be tripping over their words.
"We-"
"Would like-"
"Your blessing-"
"Our marriage!" they finish in unision.
I wasn't sure if I got that right, "Marriage?" I ask in disbelief. Jack just warned me about that guy and now Anna wants to marry him? "Yes!" Anna squeals.
So they are serious about this? "I'm sorry, I'm confused." I said.
"Well we haven't worked out all the details ourselves," Anna explains, laughing and giggling like a giddy kid, she goes on. I wasn't even listening. Why? Why does my sister make impulsive decisions like this?
"Will we live here?" Anna asks Hans. "Here?" I gasp.
No they can't!
"Absolutely!" Hans answers happily.
Shouldn't she be asking me that? And why would Hans answer yes? Surely he has his own palace where they could stay in. No, Elsa, Anna can't get married! She's too young! Too inoccent. I argued with myself.
"Ohh we could invite all twleve of your brothers to live with us." Anna squeals. "What?" I asked, horrified. "We have the room of course!" Anna says a-matter-of-factly. "No no no no!" I said but she paid me no attention, "Anna. Slow down." I said, louder this time.
"No one's brothers are living here, no one is getting married." I said finally. The look of excitement was replaced by confusion and hurt. "What?" she gasps.
We are starting to attract a crowd. I could feel my hands get colder. I'm starting to lose control.
"Can I talk to you? Alone?" I asked Anna, pleading with my eyes. Hoping she would understand and say yes.
"No." Of course she'd say no, "Whatever you have to say, you can say to both of us." she says moving closer to Hans, who holds her hand.
I take a deep breath. I didn't want to hurt her but she asked for it, "Fine. You can't marry a man you just met." I said coldly. "You can if its true love!" Anna argues, looking at me like I'm some sort of monster. I fought back the tears.
"Anna, what do you know about true love?" I queried, exasperated.
"More than you," she snaps, "All you know is how to shut people out." she looks me straight in the eye. More tears came and I struggled to keep my feelings at bay.
I bite the inside of my cheeks. Then, taking a deep breath, I told her, "You asked for my blessing, but my answer is no." "Your Majesty," Hans starts, "If I may ease your-"
"No, you may not and I think you should go." I cut him off. This whole ordeal wouldn't have happened if it weren't for him. Maybe he is with Pitch. After all, he's so intent on destroying my life that he took a desperate turn and used Hans to help him ruin me.
"Party is over. Close the gates." I announce. "Yes your highness." a servant says. Several people stop dancing to see why the party was suddenly stopped.
"Elsa. Elsa wait!" Anna sounded like she was going to cry. She grabs on desperately to my hand but I pulled away. She was holding so tighly that my glove slipped off when I yanked back. "Wha- give me my glove!" I snap, reaching for it.
Anna jerks her hand back, pleading, "Elsa please! I can't live like this anymore!" I see Jack flying a few meters away, looking concerned. "Then leave." I told her, not knowing what came over me.
By now, everyone was watching us. Feeling overwhelmed by my flooding emotions, I turned and walked away.
"What did I ever do to you?" Anna sounded mad now. "Enough, Anna." I said quietly. From the corner of my eye, Jack was flying, keeping his distance from me but he was following me. Now he thinks I'm a monster too.
"No, why?" Anna cries out, "Why do you shut me out? Why do you shut the world out? What are you so afraid of?" she yells.
I couldn't take any more of this, "I said ENOUGH!" I exclaimed. Unfortunately, my ungloved hand flew out and I couldn't control my powers. Ice flew everywhere, creating a huge wall of pointy icicles, seperating me from everyone else.
This, Anna. This is what I'm afraid of. Don't you see? I'm a monster!
Maridella was inches from being hit and she shrieks loudly, cowering back. "Sorcery." the Duke of Wesleton says glaring at me. Jack looked so surprised; he thought I had everything under control. Prince Hans, along with everyone else lookes like they couldn't believe what just happened. But Anna, oh Anna. She looked so scared and confused. I felt like I let her down. I almost hit her again! She was scared of me. I am a monster. No matter what I do I am a monster.
Scared, I grab the door handle and ran. I opened the doors, leading to town, hoping that I could flee from everyone without being noticed but no such luck as the whole kingdom of Arendelle was outside, waiting.
"There she is! Queen Elsa!"
I ran around, weaving in and out of the crowd. A concerned mother bumps into me, "Are you alright?" she asks me. I back away, seeing as she was holding a baby. I might kill them both. I'm a monster.
My back hits the fountain, there's no more place to run. I grasp the smooth marble surface but it froze over, the ice creeping to the water, freezing the whole fountain, deforming it. It looked like a wicked, bony hand.
A sound escapes from my lips, a sound of pain and grief. The duke, his two men, Anna, and several others have reached the door. "Get her!" the duke bellows.
Oh, no. Fear envelops me whole.
"Please just, just stay away from-" I cut myself off gasping as a blast of my curse came from my hand, freezing the door and the floor of the entrance. Th duke slips on the ice. "Monster." he says, looking at me with fear and hatred.
I looked back, only to see the mother hold her baby closer to her chest looking at me with fear in her eyes.
So much fear. I have to get away.
I pushed through the crowd, and ran until I reached the gates. Looking back to their pained, disappointed faces.
A lake seperates me from the mountain. I need to go there. Where I can't hurt anyone.
I looked back again. I see a lot of people chasing me, Anna included. But I only wanted to see one person. Jack Frost.
But he was no where in sight.
Where was he?
The mob was closing in.
Turning away, I stepped lightly on the water. It froze over. Determined to get away from everyone before I can hurt them, I put all my weight on the ice and ran across the lake, the water freezing with every step I take.
I head to the mountain.
I ran and ran. From my people, from Anna, and from my problems.
There, I'm alone.
Everyone is safe from me. I won't hurt Anna
But where could Jack be?
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

This was pretty hard to write. It was hard trying to capture the emotions on that 'party is over' scene. I had to rewind the movie eight times and I can only hope I succeeded:-)
What do you think of Maridella, Rapunzel's daughter? I had no idea what came in my mind then. Haha.

And, OMG I CANT EVEN!!! The next chapter is gonna be Ah-Mazing! Tune in, frosties! Until then,
I Luv Ya'll
