{DINOSAURS ON A SPACESHIP - 3}
Amy, Willow, Riddell and Nefertiti are beamed in a flash, The Doctor turns around.
"What are you doing?"
" I demanded to be brought here," Nefertiti says strongly
" No, no, no, no, no way!"
" It isn't your choice, Doctor, it's mine,"
" Listen to me. If you go with him, I can't guarantee your safety,"
"You saved my people. I am in your debt,"
" No. No debts! You don't owe me anything," The Doctor reassures, trying to stop her
"Then I do it on my own," she walks towards Solomon.
"No, Neffy... Neffy," he tries to get her to come back, a gun is re-loaded in the background
"No! Take her and I shoot you!" Riddell is pointing the rifle at Solomon
" Put your weapon down. Let me make my choice!" Nefertiti looks back at him
"Do it, boy," Riddell slowly lowers his gun
"My bounty increases. And what an extraordinary bounty you are," Solomon goes to touch the queen's cheek
" Never touch me!" she pushes him away but Solomon pushes his crutch against her neck, she attempts to pull it away, tears forming in her eyes as she struggles to breathe.
" I like my possessions to have spirit. It means I can have fun breaking them. And I will break you in with immense pleasure," Willow and Amy both cringe away, making the same face of utter disgust "Thank you, Doctor. Computer, take us back to my ship!" There's a flash and Neffy, Solomon and the robots are gone.
" Hostile targeting in progress," Lights start flashing red as the computer blares out " Hostile targeting in progress. Hostile targeting in progress. Hostile targeting in progress -"
The Doctor appears deep in thought before he mutters a small 'bingo'.
" What is it" Rory asks, looking towards the time lord who doesn't answer
" Doctor...?" Willow steps forward, sensing he had a plan.
----------&----------
The Doctor and the 'gang' minus one, teleports into a different room.
" Okay, control deck," The Doctor takes out his sonic, and starts looking around
" So, what's the plan?" Rory asks again
"Come on! The missiles are locked onto us. We can't out-run them. We have to save the dinosaurs and get Nefertiti back from Solomon. Isn't it obvious?!"
" It's sort of the opposite of obvious,"
"Complete opposite," Willow adds, standing next to her father as The Doctor checks his watch
"Seventeen minutes before the missiles hit...We need to turn this ship around!" The Doctor turns and looks into the controls, sonicing away.
"You said it was too late - That there wasn't any time," Rory reminds him, confused.
"Ah, yes, but I didn't have this plan then, did I?" Willow rolls her eyes " Riddell? Keep an eye out for dinosaurs!"
"I was rather hoping you'd say that," he walks out with his rifle
"No killing any! Rory, Brian, get rid of the cobwebs,".
----------&----------
The Doctor is examining some controls "No, don't be like that. Really unhelpful!" he hits some stone as he stands and starts pacing.
"What's the matter?" Amy questions
"Parallel pilot compartments, both configured. Needs two operators of the same gene-chain. And that's why Solomon couldn't change the ship's course and neither can we,"
"I mean...we can," Willow tells him
"How?" The Doctor turns to her, then sees Rory and Brian both raising their hands.
"Me and Rory. We must be the same gene-thingy you said," Brian adds
"Brian Pond, you are delicious!" The Doctor kisses his forehead
"I'm not a Pond,"
"Course you are!" The Doctor then kisses Willow's forehead, "Sit down, both of you, clickety split. The ship does all the engineering. The controls are straight forward. Even a monkey uses them! Oh look, they're going to." he's met with blank faces, "Not good?" he asks Willow
"No, not good,"
"Ugh, Guys, come on. Comedy gold. Where's a Silurian audience when you need one? Anyway, two eye line screens. Velocity and trajectories. Steer away from the Earth,"
"Try not to bump into the moon." Willow tells the two "Otherwise, the races there will be livid. Do not want to mention the Luna incident -"
"What?" Brian asks and Rory shrugs
"Primary controls in the arms of the chairs. Principle's the same as any vehicle. Eight minutes forty-five seconds," The Doctor sonics the controls and two bright white lights hover over Brian and Rory.
"Get us as far away as you can. Right, phase two sorted. Now for phase one," The Doctor rushes over to the main controls at the front of the room.
"Oh no, phase two comes after phase one," Amy laughs, walking over to join The Doctor
"Humans, you are so linear! Shine the torch in here," he instructs and Amy does as she's told.
"What are you doing?"
"Mixing my messages. How's the job?" The Doctor starts pulling out wires.
"We're about to be hit by missiles and you're asking me that?"
"I work best when I'm multitasking. Keep talking. How's the job?" he repeats
"I gave it up..."
"You gave the last one up!"
"Yeah, well, I can't settle. Every minute I'm listening out for that stupid TARDIS sound,"
"It's not a stupid sound!" Willow interrupts and Amy gives her a look "Sorry," she looks down, like a scolded child.
"Right, so it's my fault now, is it?"
"I can't not wait for you, even now... And they're getting longer, you know, the gaps between your visits. I think you're weaning us off you," Amy admits
"I'm not, I promise.," The Doctor stars fiddling, then senses Amy's sadness, he looks up into her eyes "Really promise. The others, yeah, but not you. Rory and you, you have lives, have each other. I thought that's what we agreed,"
"I know. I just worry there'll come a time when you never turn up. That something will have happened to you or Willow, and I'll still be waiting, worrying, never knowing - "
"No, come on, Pond. You'll be there 'till the end of me!"
"Or vice versa," Amy attempts to joke, but The Doctor looks at her seriously
"Don't..." they stare at each other, and Riddell interrupts.
"Doctor? This is a two-man job!" Amy grabs the other stun gun, starting to walk out.
"What are you doing?
"I'm easily worth two men. You can help too, if you like," she smirks and Willow laughs, walking over to The Doctor, who extracts a beeping green object from inside the machine with the main controls.
"Doctor, what are you going to do -" Amy re-enters, watching as The Doctor suddenly disappears.
"Oh great," Willow mutters, rolling her eyes, looking over to Amy "What do I do?" Amy shrugs.
"Make sure they don't crash into the moon," Amy gestures to Rory and Brian driving the ship. Willow sighs, going over to a small computer, and accessing it easily after it takes a quick sample of blood.
