{THE POWER OF THREE - 2}
OCTOBER
"I'm so pleased for you two. It's about time you made an honest woman of her," Amy is at a party and is leaning on a bar next to her friend.
"Amy, about bridesmaids. You've missed quite a few things the last year or two -"
"I'm so totally there. Whatever you need!" she reassures.
---
"Everyone here loves you. The nurses, the doctors. You're a life-saver, mate, literally," Rory and a fellow nurse are pushing a patient along in a bed, navigating the chaotic hospital.
"Ah, well, thanks,"
"But there are months when we don't see you. And we can't do without you. I want you to go full time,"
"Full time? Blimey. Er,"
---
Amy and Rory are in bed, sat up and talking "I said yes. I committed,"
"And I committed to being a bridesmaid. Months in advance. Like I know I'm going to be here," Amy says, shocked
"So, the Doctor's God knows where, the cubes aren't doing anything at all. Did real life just get started?"
"I like it,"
"So, do I," Rory admits, looking to his wife.
---
"Can we go see nanny and grandad?" Alexandra asks as her, Willow and The Doctor sit at the breakfast table, The Doctor glances up but ignores her and Willow just genuinely doesn't hear "Dad?" ah yes, that was new, Alexandra was now eight and decided 'daddy' just wasn't right anymore, so that got his attention.
"I - I think they're busy," he answers
"Can't we go to when they're not busy then?" no response, Willow turns to her daughter
"Your father's a bit upset with them at the moment Hun," she explains, grabbing Alexandra's hand
"Are you upset with them?"
"No," Willow laughs "I miss them too," Willow gives The Doctor a sad look, but before Alexandra can see it, she smiles "Now, what do you say about visiting Vastra and Jenny?"
"Yes!" Alexandra grins.
DECEMBER
Decorations are up around the hospital and the radio is playing Christmas music softly in the background
"That's it. Er, Mister Ryan, please"? Rory enters the waiting room and is greeted with the sight of a teenager with bis foot stuck in a toilet.
"Again?" he nods and Rory wheels him away, as they leave a little girl's eyes flash blue, as does the cube she's holding
---
"Are we at least going for Christmas?" Alexandra asks, holding her mother's hand as they walk through the TARDIS,
"I don't know, do you want to go for Christmas?"
"Yeah!" Willow looks at her daughter and hears The Doctor humming to 'Merry Christmas Everybody', It was still her favourite Christmas tune. Willow thinks for a moment, they could be back in time for the song to finish, and no doubt whatever monstrosity The Doctor was cooking wouldn't be edible and would be disgraceful compared to her parents cooking.
"Okay, come along Miss Watcher-Pond," she smiles and Alexandra laughs before they go in search of a Vortex manipulator.
MAY
Alexandra was staying with River in the 25th century, her aunt was currently teaching her how to lockpick doors from every century. The Doctor and Willow were oblivious to this, and The Doctor took the chance to have some alone time with his wife.
"Have we ever been on a date?" The Doctor asks as they lay in bed, Willow's head on his chest.
"What?"
"Like a date from those movies you made me watch, where they go to dinner,"
"Um..." Willow thinks "No, I don't think we have," she looks up at The Doctor "Why? Are you asking?"
"Maybe," The Doctor thinks, giving her a cheeky smile
"Well..." Willow dances her fingers across The Doctor's chest where one of his shirts was barely buttoned "It's already the evening...so we could just skip to what happens after dates,"
"What's that?" The Doctor hasn't quite caught on yet and Willow looks up smirking
"You know, that thing,"
"Oh!" he smiles "That thing, we can definitely do that,"
"Good," Willow wits up, kissing her husband before she straddles his hips.
JUNE
There's a barbeque party in the Williams - Ponds - garden. Amy is in a dress with her hair in a low ponytail, she takes out her phone and dials a number.
"Hey! Willow, it's me. Hello," she smiles, thinking of her daughter "So, The Doctor told me to keep either of you updated, The UN classified the cubes as provisionally safe, whatever that means, and Banksy and Damien Hirst put out statements saying the cubes are nothing to do with them. And the cubes, well, they're just here. Still. What's it been, nine months? People are just taking them for granted. Maybe we'll never know why they came. But anyway..." Amy looks around, as if searching for someone "I got to Laura's wedding. It was great. She's here tonight, seeing as it's our wedding anniversary. We thought you might have dropped by...y'know, being our daughter and all. I mean, you did help plan some of this. I -" Amy sighs "I left you messages,"
Whist she makes this phone call, a man carries a large bouquet of flowers up behind her,
"I know!" A familiar voice says and Amy turns as Willow pops out from behind The Doctor.
"Happy anniversary!" They both exclaim and Willow hugs her mother tightly whilst The Doctor places the flowers down.
"Come with us," The Doctor walks away and Willow follows
"And bring Dad!" Amy smiles, going to get Rory.
---
"26th of June, 1890. The recently opened Savoy Hotel. Dinner, bed and breakfast for two," Servants come in with several items as Amy and Rory step out of the TARDIS "Bonjour, bonjour. Merci, Auguste," The Doctor turns to his in-laws "You'll be back before the party's over. They won't even notice you went. No complications, I promise,"
As Amy looks around in awe, Rory kisses the Doctor continental style.
"Ooo!" The Doctor laughs and Willow and Amy join in.
---
It's snowing, and the group is sat outside, still all dressed for 1890.
"Bit of a shock," The Doctor starts, Staring straight ahead "Zygon ship under the Savoy, half the staff impostors. Still, it's all fixed now, eh?"
Willow scrunches up her nose at the Victorian smell and Amy hands her a basket, as if expecting what's coming next.
Willow throws up.
"Are you okay?" Rory asks and Willow holds up a hand, throwing up again Amy rubs her back, tucking strands of loose hair behind her ears.
---
Now in a bedchamber and in modern clothes, the family look around for an escape exit, The Doctor jumps up onto the bed.
"Gentlemen, open the doors!" someone calls from outside
"I thought we were going home?" Amy asks
"You can't miss a good wedding. Under the bed. Under the bed!" he instructs and they all struggle to hide under the large four-poster.
"Shush!"
"It wasn't my fault,"
"It was totally your fault!"
"Somebody was talking, and I just said yes," Amy groans
"To wedding vows! You just married Henry VIII on our anniversary!" Willow laughs slightly and slaps her hand to her mouth when said monarch enters.
The four see his legs.
The Doctor sneezes, Willow throws up in her mouth at the smell from the shoes.
"Sorry,"
JUNE - again
The barbeque has now turned into a party, and Willow has gone to the toilet, Brian and The Doctor are talking.
"How long were they away?"
"I don't know what you're talking about, Brian," The Doctor smiles smugly
"Because they're wearing totally different clothes from earlier,"
"Seven weeks," he admits "I got side-tracked. A lot,"
"What happened to the other people who travel with you?" Brian asks finally, after debating the possibilities in his head.
The Doctor turns to him, glancing down sadly "Some left me," he starts slowly "Some got left behind. And some, not many but, some died," The Doctor can tell Brian's distressed by this news "Not them. Not them, Brian. Never them,".
---
Willow and Amy are in the garden, Amy is playing with a cube and Willow is unsure how to start.
"I um -" Amy turns to her "I was wondering how you'd feel if we stayed here for a bit, with you and dad. Y'know, keep an eye on the cubes...Keep Alexandra in the same place for a bit,"
"I thought it'd drive him mad..." Amy admits, not opposed to the idea
"I think he misses you...I miss you too,"
"Okay," Amy smiles and Willow does the same, looking away slightly before starting to talk again.
"I - I also have to tell you something, and you can't tell The Doctor!"
"What's up," Amy takes her daughters hand in hers, getting the idea that Willow's nervous.
"I'm pregnant," Willow says quickly, saying it out load for the first time "I was throwing up a lot, and... It's obvious,"
"Have you checked? Done a pregnancy test?" Amy didn't want Willow to get her hopes up
"No... not yet. But I - It's obvious. I didn't want to do it alone,"
"Okay," Amy smiles
"Can you come with me when I do? Obviously, I can't go to the doctor's and I know the TARDIS will know...but can you still come?"
"Of course," Amy wraps her arms around Willow who burries her head in Amy's neck "You're probably going to have two little time lords to look after,"
"Yeah," Willow laughs, finally feeling the joy "Yeah I am,".
