The Buckett Family

Charlie's father comes home from another hard days work. His father also brings home dinner and sets it on the island in the kitchen. "What's for dinner dad?" Charlie's father looks toward his son. "We are having cabbage and bread." Charlie silently groans in annoyance. "Cabbage soup again? Can't we change the dinner options a little bit?" Charlie's mother looks at Charlie a bit sad but corrects him. "Charlie don't be upset this is all we can afford right now. Until your father can find a better paying job. You should be grateful that we can at least eat this. Some people can't even eat this. We are trying our best dear." She says in a firm tone. "I'm sorry." Charlie mumbles. Mother starts supper. And his  father gives him a big hug. Later on mother serves dinner on the table. The aroma of the soup makes everybody hungry. Charlie takes the first slice of bread before he digs into the soup. The father turns the television on the daily news channel. "Todays news is the Michael's Chocolate Factory will  be opened. Be prepared because there will golden tickets hidden inside of Michael's chocolate bars. So buy as many chocolate bars are you can to see if you found a golden ticket. Those that have the golden tickets will gain access to the factory." Then father changes the channel to sports. Charlie thinks about what has been said on tv. Maybe that golden ticket will be his chances of getting him out of poverty. Or to have a new adventure. "I used to work for that factory." Grandpa Joe announces. Charlie's turns to him. "He made the most amazing and most delicious chocolate in the world. I don't know why he closed the factory for so many years. I wonder what's behind those gates. Did things change?" Grandpa Joe takes something from behind his pillow. "Take this you'll need it." He hands him 2 shiny quarters. "What's this for?" Charlie says shocked. "This is an early birthday present so you can buy a chocolate bar and see if you can win a golden ticket." Charlie's face lights up. And hugs his grandfather. It's rare to find spare change in the house hold. Hopefully his father will get him a gift tomorrow with something special if doesn't have to big but Charlie will appreciate it. Maybe it's his turn to have a little bit of luck.
