Danielle's Pov

It's been a hell of a ride to be honest. I'm still trying to find my parents and recently I heard that a women named Valerie was spotted in Mystic Falls. It's a long shot but this is my only lead. After my adoptive mom passed away in the late 30' I've been alone. I couldn't find anyone who would love the way I am. Right now I'm in the woods searching for a bunny or a deer to hunt because I'm getting pretty hungry I haven't fed since I flew from New York here. Then I hear someone screaming and run through the dark to see two girls about to feed on a guy and a girl.

"Motus" I chant and the girl hits the the tree. I quickly vamp speed there and show them my vampire face.

"Hey let them go" I say to the mysterious ladies.

"She's a heretic like us Mary-Lou maybe Lily will welcome her" The brunette said and she stepped towards me.

"I'm Nora and that's Mary-Louise you want a drink?" She asks and holds up the guy. I have to fight the urge to rip out the guys throat. I can't I won't allow it to be that person again.

"No thanks" I reply suddenly someone shouting.

"Let them go" A male voice sounds. "Who are you?" He asks holding the flashlight to me.

"My name's Danielle who are you?" I ask back the guy.

"Deputy Donovan" answers the guy. "Let them go" repeats himself the guy.

"Mystic falls is ours now and maybe the new heretic too and so is every human that's steps inside now" replies the blond girl who's name I think was Mary.

"I said let them go" repeats Donovan and then the girls go invisible and they knock the guy down.

"Come with us you're a heretic we should stick together" replies the brunette and I follow them what other choice do I really have left.

We arrive at what looks like a boarding house and we all get inside.

"Lily are you here?" One of the girls asks.

"Nora, Mary-Lou what is it who is that with you?"asks an elderly women with auburn hair and blue eyes.

"She's a heretic we found her crossing the border, maybe she could stay with us if you agree" The girl Nora suggest.

"I'm really sorry I don't mean to be rude but I'm kinda just passing through I'm looking for someone" sincerely and a bit awkwardly I start to tell them." I appreciate everything you did and it would awesome if I could stay here because my whole life I've been rejected for what I am but I have to find the person" I apologize and the women named Lily smiles.

"I understand perfectly my deer I've been searching for my sons too and I finally found so whoever you're looking for I hope you find them soon and then you'll be welcome here anytime you want" replies Lily as she walks closer to me and squeezes my hand.

"Thank you for your understanding" I say and I'm about to head out when she stops me.

"Why don't you sleep here today it's already night outside" Lily suggest and I nod. She leads me up to one of the spare bedrooms in the house. She keeps staring at me and frown confused. Which she obviously notices.

"I deeply apologize for staring but you have those beautiful forest green eyes like my younger son it's eerie"

"Thank you although I don't I've ever met him" I answer before laying down on the bed and falling asleep imediatly.

I wake up to hear commotion in the other room. I go look for it and I find a blond girl hanging there. O my god what happened here? Should I free her but then again what if she's a bad guy. She's slowly starting to open her eyes.

"And who are you haven't seen you before" states the blond girl.

"I'm new to town I arrived yesterday" I answer and go touch her but I'm burned.

"Is your skin vervain? I didn't even know that was possible" I state to her confused. "I'm Danielle"

"Caroline" weakly the blond replies.

"Can I trust you?" I ask her and she nods.

"Don't trust Lily and the heretics they're not your friends" weakly the blond tells me as I exit the room and head downstairs to find a bloodbag her. 

"Good morning Danielle hope you slept well can I help you with anything" coming out of the kitchen Lily asks.

"Thanks Lily I'm a bit hungry" I reply to her and shows me into the kitchen.

"Well I'm making what's now called ham&eggs so feel free to join us and down the stairs to the left is the storage if you're craving" informs me Lily while putting a plate Infront of me. The words that Caroline said are still running through my head. What if she's lying? or what if she's not? How can I know if I'm not siding with the enemy here.

Deep thoughts go through my mind as I finish eating and head downstairs where I suppose are the blood bags. I find them. I quickly take 2 in my bag and get out of there up into the room I going upstairs but I'm stopped by Nora.

"Hey where are you going?" She asks with a smile.

"Just into the room to collect my things I'll be on my way soon" I answer and she walks away. I pack everything into my bag and sneak into the room where I saw Caroline before breakfast. She's still hanging and

She looks so weak, I open my bag and as quietly as I can I make my way towards.

"I hope I'm not making a mistake by doing this"I whisper and that seems to wake her up. "Here you need to drink" I say and bring the straw from the bag to her lips. She start to suck it and in a minute it's empty so I take out the other one.

I'm about to get out of here when I hear a male voice.

"Caroline? Get away from her" the man steps inside and the moment he sees me his face is filled with anger.

"No Stefan wait. She's not part of their coven she helped me" Caroline answers to Stefan.

"I'm sorry for whatever they did I just stumbled upon them last night and they offered me to stay here and this morning I found her here" I explain to him and he seems to calm down before going over the blond and releasing her from the chains.

"I'm Stefan" he introduces and I shake his hand.

"Danielle" 

"Looks like Im gonna have to swoop you out of here" chuckles and tells Stefan the blond.

"Well the feminist in me says no but" she tries to lighten the mood. And he goes to touch her but I stop him.

"Her skin is filled with vervain" I tell him and push his hand away.

"Valerie's spell" Caroline remembers. Wait Valerie maybe this won't be a dead end after all.

Stefan runs away and comes back with a jacket that he puts on her shoulder.

"Well one of the heretics was torturing me and the other said she would help me I thought it would only affect them" Caroline answers. Maybe I could try and siphon it, but they don't know I'm a witch too and maybe if they did they wouldn't trust me like they do now.

"It's okay when we get out of here we'll call Bonnie and there has to be a way to get rid of this spell but until then we have to avoid skin to skin contact. I know it will be extra hard for you" smiles and replies Stefan.

"I'm gonna call Damon and tell him we're ready" Stefan says and brings out his phone.

"Caroline,Stefan I think something's wrong" I say as the whole house is shaking.

"What's happening?" Confused he asks us.

"I don't know it's like every molecule in my body is being moved" just as Caroline finishes the sentence I'm being thrown through the glass window and multiple shards implanting themselves into my body. I scream out as I land on the ground and then I see Stefan flying through the window too and landing near me.

He looks over at me to see shards implemented in my arms and stomach.

"Danielle" I hear him scream out. What has gotten into him? We don't know each other.

"Hey can you hear me?" He gets to my side and asks.

"Yes" I manage to say in a sore voice.

"I'm gonna to need you to hold still for a few moments I need to get these out, alright?" Stefan tells me in a soft tone and I nod before grunting when he takes the first shard of.

"Sorry" he apologizes and takes out another one. And I groan again.

This went on and on until he got the last one out which resulted in me letting out a breath of relief. He then fed me his blood. Well he didnt need to but he they still think I'm just a witch.

"Can you stand?" He ask and I nod but the moment I'm on my feet I fall down.

"Come on I can take you. Where are you staying?" He asks me while holding me with one of his hands for support.

"I'm actually just passing through" I tell him.

"Well you could stay with me and my brother" he offers.

"That's really kind but why are you helping we've just met?" I ask him regaining my balance.

"I tend to care about all the people but something about you makes me want to protect you at all cost" he tells me while looking in my eyes like he's searching for something.

"Not weird at all" I mumble and smile and he chuckles. But then everything starts to spin and fall back.
