• 1917 is one of my all-time favourite films, and after seeing it in the cinema, i was so happy i stumbled upon this fic... so when i read it i loved it even more!! inserting an OC into the already tightly-written schofield/blake storyline is really difficult, but kim just does it so seamlessly, making margaret fit perfectly into the plot. i'm so invested in her and will, you have no idea—

• and the ending... THE ENDING 😭 no ending to a book on wattpad has genuinely made me cry like this has. i don't tend to outwardly express my emotions like that, although often if anything i will get choked up at something. the ending to this fic, however? not spoiling anything but I FULL-ON UGLY CRIED. even a couple years later after the fic ended, sometimes i'll return to the epilogue once more, and i'm all like:

• also something that has always been very close to my heart is the experiences of soldiers in wwi. i have a few ancestors who fought and died in the same battles blake and schofield were probably fighting, so often reading about things like that really tugs on my heart strings. and i'd like to say that kim, if you are reading this, that you dealt with the heavy subject matter with the perfect amount of sensitivity. especially margaret's experiences of being a nurse and the horrors she sees in her job, it was just like such a gut punch (and that's a compliment because it was all written beautifully!)

• anyway, if you have seen 1917, GO READ THIS FIC AND CRY!!!
