Char's Pov

The walk to club soda was filled with silence and another round of awkwardness. I don't get it. It's not like we're going out on a date... We're just going as friends! But ever since I knocked on Henry's door he's been acting pretty strange. But I couldn't help but feel flattered when Hen said that I look amazing. I look like my normal self, only with a little makeup, that's all.

Anyway, we stood in the long line at the entrance of club soda. That's when I finally snapped.

"Henry! Why?!"

"Huh? Why what?"

"Why are you making things so awkward? It's not like we're on a date! And even if we were actually on a date, I never knew I'm that bad of a girl that you can't even talk to me!" At this point, everyone in the line was staring.

"Shut up, Char!" yelled Henry.

Henry's Pov

"Just shut up, Char!" I said. Her pretty face looked like she was wounded. It's a good thing that everyone in the line stopped staring and continued in their own conversations.

We awkwardly entered club soda. Then I pulled Char to the side.

"Listen. I'm sorry for being an awkward jerk. It's just that... It's my first time going to a dance alone with you. And whenever look into your beautiful brown eyes my heart melts and I just don't know what to say." I literally just told Char how I feel about her.

"Aw Hen, you like me? But what about Bianca?"

"Bianca and I are history. We're just friends now. Besides, she's with that stupid Mitch."

"But I'm not pretty like Bianca, Tiffany, or Chloe. I'm just a scrawny little---"

"Charlotte, you are more beautiful than they will ever be," I reassured. That's when I cupped her head in my hands and kissed her. It was a short, sweet kiss. Her lips tasted like honeydew.

"Guess what, Hen?" asked Char.

"I like you too," she whispered. Then we walked over to buy sodas, hand in hand.
