Chapter~3
Louis' P.O.V
I had been fondly staring at the curly haired Prince who invested himself in picking flowers when Niall speaks up beside me.
"Louis?"
"Yes..?"
"Mind if you and Liam show Harry around the village more while I go grab us lunch?"
"Sure, Niall. We'll meet you back here?"
The blonde boy nods and calls for Harry, "H, I'll inform your parents about eating out-"
"Ooh, like a picnic?" Prince of Curls asks excitedly.
"Yup. I'm leaving you with Liam and Louis while I go fetch our food, okay?"
"Okay! Bye!"
As Niall began walking back to the castle, Harry turns to me with a wide Cheshire grin.
"Where to first?"
I look at Liam, asking for help and he thinks for a minute before replying to the boy, "let's go over to the petting zoo."
"There's a petting zoo in Donshire? How do I not know about it?!" Harry exclaims, flabbergasted.
"Well, according to Niall, you don't usually leave your room, much less the castle." Liam states.
"Oh yeah... That makes sense." Harry pouts.
He looks like a sad kitten awww...
"Hey now, turn that frown upside down, Curly," I say, bringing my finger under his chin to lift his head up, then whispering something only he and I could hear, "Angels like you should never stop smiling."
Oops. Was I moving too fast?
Aaaahhhhh!
I couldn't help myself! Okay?!
"Alright, I don't know what you said to Harry that got him to blush like a tomato, but we best be going if we want to make it back here in time for lunch." Liam shoots me a playful glare, and I wave him off, placing a hand on the small of Harry's back to lead him to the petting zoo.
The walk took less than 10 minutes as we were now standing at the entrance, being greeted by one of our friends, Katy.
"Why hello there, Liam and Louis!" She greets us, then gasps at seeing Harry, "Your Highness! It's good to see you!"
"Hello." The boy waves at her, dimples on show.
Fook.
My weakness.
"Well, I'm guessing you lot are here to see the animals. You're just in time! Our little bunnies have begun to hop around like normal rabbits, so you guys can go ahead and play with them if you'd like." Katy flashes us a warm smile.
I was in the middle of thanking Katy when suddenly I'm being pulled by the wrist by none other than the Prince of cuteness.
"Louis! Bunnies! C'mon c'mon!"
The excitement clear on the boy's face had me chuckling in fondness.
He's so cute!
We make it to the little balls of fur, kneeling down in front of them as they hop around happily.
"Awww Lou! They're adorable!" Harry squeals.
Like you. I thought.
Wait-no. Too soon.
I notice him nervously extend his hand out to pet the white bunny in front of him but as it hops unexpectedly, he gets startled and shies away.
"Here, Curly." I say, picking up the white bunny gently into my hands and placing it on top of Harry's awaiting ones.
He smiles widely, bringing the little animal to his face and tries mimicking its nose.
Fook he looks so young.
And cute.
The very definition of pure.
"AAAHHHHH!!! LOUIS! KATY! HELP ME!!!"
I snap my head to the direction of the scream, falling on my bum as I laugh hysterically at what I see.
"TOMMO THIS IS NOT FUNNY!!!"
"Y-you're being ch-ased by a g-goat!" I was able to say through my laughs.
Harry giggles beside me as we both watch Katy try to calm down the goat that's still chasing Liam.
"Should we help him?"
"...nah."
------
"I can't believe you didn't help me!" Liam huffs, crossing his arms to his chest.
"We're sorry, Liam." Harry apologizes, placing a hand on the brunette boy's shoulder.
"I'm not really sorry to be honest." I say casually, then get a slap on my arm.
"Ow! Okay okay! Sorry!" Liam glares at me while I chuckle, "you gotta admit, that was pretty funny."
He thinks back to the memory of being chased and laughs lowly, shaking his head, "yeah, I guess."
We didn't stay long at the petting zoo because we had to meet up with Niall back at the apple tree soon. So after waving goodbye to Katy, we traced back our steps and were glad to find Niall just about done setting up the little picnic for us.
"Oh! There you lads are!" He greets us, patting the spots next to him on the big checkered blanket laid out on the ground, "where'd you three go?"
Immediately, Harry went to answer him with much enthusiasm laced in his voice. As he tells Niall all about the things that happened back at the petting zoo, the Irish blonde hands each of us his special sandwiches.
"These are so good, Ni." Liam comments, biting more from his sandwich.
I nod, "mhmm, I agree."
"Thanks, mates. I can make food just as much as I can eat food. It runs in the family, really." Niall replies proudly.
"That's awesome! And uh, hate to be the one who leaves first, but my shift is about to start soon." My brunette friend says sheepishly.
"That's alright, man. Me and Haz should be heading back to the castle for his piano lessons anyways."
I turn to the curly haired Prince in amusement, "you play?"
He blushes shyly, nodding his head, "just a little bit. My mum insists I should at least know how to play."
Then all of a sudden Liam blurts out, "Louis knows how to play."
"Whoa, really?" The younger boy stares at me in wonder.
I have no idea where the sudden confidence came from because I'm unexpectedly offering, "if you'd like, I could teach you?"
He gasps, nodding his head rapidly.
"I'd love that!"
"How's about we start tomorrow, yeah?"
"Sure!"
"Uh, Lou?" The voice of my puppy eyed friend speaks up.
I thought he already left...
"Yes?"
"Aren't you going to start your job tomorrow?"
Ugh. Why, Liam, why?
"Aren't you going to get fired if you don't get back to your job right now?" I shot back, slightly agitated because he's ruining my chances of hanging out with Harry.
"Eh, I still have a couple of minutes. And the music shop is right there." He chuckles, pointing to the shop across from us.
"We can always reschedule the next day, Louis." Harry suggests.
"No, it's fine! My shift at the bakery starts at six in the morning and ends at eleven."
"Then what about Story Time with the kids?"
I mentally face palm, "that's right...and I'm all out of story books to read to them."
Harry's P.O.V
"Story books?" I ask, "I have tons! I can bring one of them tomorrow and accompany you with the kids so after that we can head to the castle and you can teach me how to play!" I tell him, hoping he'd agree.
"That's a great idea, Harry!"
YES
"It's settled then." Louis stands up, dusting the none existent dust off his clothes, "I'll see you tomorrow, Harry."
"Bye Louis! Bye Liam!"
OH MY GOSH!
I CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW!!!
______
Niall and I arrive home and are instantly greeted by my sister.
"There you are. Come on, let's begin your lessons-" I cut her off.
"Wait, Gem. Can I skip lessons today?"
"Well, sure I guess. May I ask why?" She quirks an eyebrow at me.
"Because," I start, "Louis is willing to teach me tomorrow."
Maybe I shouldn't have admitted that because suddenly my sister is all up on my face with questions.
"He can play? Is he good? He's coming over here then, right? Omg it's a date!"
"No it is not!" I retort.
Although I wish it was...
"It is if you two are going to be in a room, all by yourselves, together!" My sister persists, but I simply brush her off, heading to my room.
Niall tells me he's going to help out in the kitchen so I let him. Knowing that his real reason was to stow away food he can find unattended by the other staff.
I let my mind wander while I lay on my bed, eyes fixed on the ceiling when I suddenly begin to imagine Louis approaching me on a horse, suited quite nicely, with his hair styled into a quiff.
"My knight, you came."
"Of course I did, my lovely prince."
Whoa there, brain. Slow down!
I've only known him for a day and a half! I can't just create little stories about us in my head.
Or can I...?
