"Ahjumma (aunty), will whatever that is written in this fortune cookie come true?", I curiously asked the lady at the antique shop who looked as old as the antiques she was selling.

"Mostly, my child. Our fortune and stars never lie.", she said, smiling, making her wrinkles appear more prominently.

"Let me try my luck. I will take one." I paid the money and then left the shop. As soon as I reached home, I hurriedly took out the cookie and started eating. Midway, I found a paper.

'Tomorrow you shall meet someone linked to your past who will become your strongest link in the future'

Strange.

A million answerless questions flashed through my mind. Tomorrow? Someone from my past? Strongest link in future?

Meh. It might not even be true. 

I started making some ramen for myself for dinner. I need to sleep early.

Tomorrow is my big day. The day I will meet my new boss.

I woke up extra early and even ended up reaching office half an hour earlier.

I quickly cleared the desk, placed a fresh set of flowers on the table, arranged all the files in order, opened the curtains to let in sunlight and sprayed  the air freshener. By the time I finished everything, it was 7:00 am. 

The employees started arriving one by one. Jaemin and Jeno walked in with lovesick smiles. One hour passed. 

Two hours passed.

Even Renjun who was always late had come.

Donghyuck was losing his patience. Where the hell is this new boss?

"Aish! What kind of punctual CEO is he? He is so late."

Just then I heard the screech of tires and a loud horn. I looked out the window to find a Black Tritan. Finally.

I rushed down after adjusting my clothes and hair. I put on a bright smile and opened the car door.

The black suit man who stepped out was a few centimetres taller than me, fair, fit and had Prada sunglasses on.

As soon as he removed the sunglasses and I saw his face clearly, my smile faded and my eyes popped out.

Fuck my life.
