Something about Jeon Jungkook has always had Yoongi's heart tugging.

They met about two years ago because they have mutual friends. Hoseok was throwing a birthday party back then and had invited all of his friends. Yoongi isn't really one to go to parties, but Hoseok is his close friend and his best friend Seokjin had a crush on Hoseok, though he was also cursed with being an introvert, so he begged Yoongi to go.

At that party, Yoongi had noticed a cute guy with Bambi-like eyes hanging out with Hoseok. They'd danced together, laughed together, and forced Jimin to take shots with them just to stir him up. Yoongi asked Seokjin who he was, mostly curious because he was clinging so close to Hoseok and he wondered if those galaxy eyes meant he had a crush on Hoseok or if he always looked like that.

"You don't know Jungkook-ah?" is what Seokjin had asked him. It didn't really answer his internal question at all.

But when Seokjin urged him over to Hoseok, Jimin, and Jungkook, Yoongi learned pretty quickly that Jungkook's galaxy eyes were a constant aspect and not just something reserved for Hoseok.

"Hyung!" Hoseok called out to him, and when Jungkook merely stared at Yoongi, Hoseok had to wrap an arm around him and say, "This is Jungkookie. He's my dance partner."

Yoongi nodded to the younger with a little smile. "Nice to meet you."

And then, as if Jungkook's entire brain had shut down, his first words to Yoongi were "You look like a dumpling."

Taken aback, Yoongi simply stared at him back then, too shocked to speak. It was Seokjin who spoke up over Jimin and Hoseok's laughter, smacking Jungkook on the arm. "Yah! That's no way to greet someone new, Jungkook-ah! Learn some manners."

"Sorry," Jungkook quickly told Yoongi, giving him a small bow and holding it there. "I didn't mean it in a bad way. I just— Nevermind."

For nearly two years since that day, Jungkook never learned how to not voice his opinions on Yoongi. All good things, of course. But things like I love your hair and Your hands are so warm or You look pretty, hyung all make Yoongi blush like an idiot. And come to find out, it was all for a reason.

Jungkook likes Yoongi.

And it's no surprise that Yoongi likes Jungkook as well. Ever since he first met Jungkook, he's been curious about him and wanted to know more. Learning more about the cutie at Hoseok's party only made Yoongi like him day by day. After hanging out a few times with their friend group, they got each other's numbers and started messaging each other. Then they started hanging out alone, sometimes even at each other's places where nobody else was around to see their lingering glances or the way they tease flirtatiously.

Even so, it took almost two years before either of them admitted their feelings.

Yoongi was scared of commitment with Jungkook because he wasn't sure if the younger would get bored of him just like every other person he'd tried to date. Jungkook took his time with Yoongi, unsure if Yoongi would like him back or not. When Yoongi finally got confident enough that Jungkook wasn't leaving anytime soon, he started flirting much more, and Jungkook finally took it as a sign that Maybe he does like me back.

One day when Jungkook had invited Yoongi over for dinner, he made sure it was special. Yoongi noticed something was different, but he didn't question it. The pit of anxiety swirling in his tummy quickly disappeared whenever Jungkook's foot grazed up against his under the dining table.

When he looked up into Jungkook's eyes, the younger held his hand out to him. They silently ate their dinner for a few minutes as Jungkook played with Yoongi's fingers and attempted to eat with his left hand. Yoongi's entire body was aflame, but even more so as Jungkook intertwined their fingers.

"Hyung, can I take you on a date?"

The question wasn't so sudden, but it was unexpected—at least because Yoongi wasn't expecting such a bold move despite them holding hands. He wasn't expecting today to be the day where something like this happens. He'd imagined it a million times over, and not once was it like this. Not unless he's dreaming right now, which is a possibility.

Even so, he'd indulge in a dream where he gets to be happy. So, he tells Jungkook, "I thought you'd never ask."

And that's what led them to today.

Today is their date and Yoongi is so nervous he might actually pass out. His palms are sweaty, his tummy keeps swirling funnily, and he can't keep still. He's been bouncing his leg for the past twenty minutes as he waits for Jungkook to come pick him up.

Dress nice, hyung. Like you always do.

Yoongi is terrified that his outfit isn't nice enough. He only assumes that Jungkook is taking them to a restaurant, so he dressed appropriately for that. It's not a suit and tie, but a nice gray cardigan with dress pants is also fine, right? Right?

When the door magically begins knocking on itself, Yoongi doesn't even notice. He's so in his head that it takes him a moment to realize that Hey, wait a minute, doors can't knock.

Guilty for keeping Jungkook waiting so long, Yoongi zooms from his sofa and to his front door, swinging it open as fast as he can. Jungkook is there, holding flowers and staring at Yoongi with wide eyes.

"Were you running from something?"

Yoongi runs a hand down his face in pure agony. "Don't question me, you brat." His eyes fall to the flowers that Jungkook is holding up to his chest. they're mostly roses, but a few other flowers as well. "Are those for me?" he asks with a gasp.

"Of course," Jungkook says as he holds out the bouquet. Yoongi accepts it with a smile, smelling them before hurrying off to set them in his kitchen vase.

Jungkook drives Yoongi to a fancy restaurant after that. As usual, they eat lots of good food and try two desserts they've never eaten before. The entire evening, they brush their fingers up against each other, give shy smiles, laugh like they've never laughed before, and while they take a walk in the park, Jungkook holds Yoongi's hand.

He loves holding Jungkook's hand. It's so gentle, yet assertive, the way he handles Yoongi's hand in his own. Yoongi would follow him anywhere if he dragged him while holding his hand like this.

Unfortunately, they can't spend all day and night together—though Jungkook has spent the night at Yoongi's place before. But not tonight. Tonight, Jungkook drives Yoongi home while the sun sets, looking like an egg yolk setting over the Earth. They hold hands on the car ride as well, with their hands in the middle and eyes on the road. Yoongi steals a few glances, though.

They reach Yoongi's place in no time. He wishes they could spend forever together, but that's just unreasonable. So, he settles for what time they do have, and he takes in every second that they spend together. Even as Jungkook walks Yoongi to his doorstep, they're talking away as if the night isn't ending anytime soon.

Stopping at the doorstep to turn and face Jungkook, Yoongi reaches his other hand out and Jungkook meets him halfway. Now both of their hands are in each other's and Yoongi's hands are both warm and safe.

"...And I told Hobi hyung that I could do it!" Jungkook continues talking about how he'd managed to do one of those cool flips like Jimin does all the time. "He didn't believe I could do it, for real."

"Doesn't he know who you are?"

"Exactly!" Jungkook laughs out, and then his little story comes to an end. He tugs Yoongi forward a little. Just enough to make them come closer. Yoongi can feel the warmth of his body, but he's not close enough for anything else. "So... Did you have fun on our date, hyung? Do you, ah—" Jungkook awkwardly averts his gaze down to their feet instead. "Do you think you want to go on more? Dates? With me? Maybe?"

Yoongi chuckles, squeezing Jungkook's hands. "Of course, you dummy." He's the one who pulls Jungkook in this time, and Jungkook looks back up into his eyes as their feet are brought together. "I want to go on a billion more dates with you."

"Only a billion?"

"A billion and one."

"Only a billion and o—"

Yoongi reaches up and cups Jungkook's cheeks, his fingers lining the edge of Jungkook's hair on his nape. Then he pushes up onto his toes to be the same height as Jungkook, just to steal the words right from his lips and earn a shocked little hum instead.

Jungkook catches on quickly, holding onto Yoongi's waist and leaning in as well. His lips are soft and small, sweet and cute. His kiss is perfect. It's so much more than Yoongi could've ever imagined. Even when they pull away, Yoongi can't find it in himself to be disappointed because Jungkook already knows he wants more, diving back in and giving him peck after peck just to ease them out of the kiss.

"I hope that means forever," Jungkook mutters.

Yoongi swallows hard, then nods. "Yeah. I'll be with you forever."
