[Summary]

Seokjin and Hoseok's friends are certain that they're dating each other (they're not) and they decide to play along just to get them off their backs.

Fake dating Hoseok turns out to be an eye opener that Seokjin never expected.

~~~
One major thing about Seokjin and Hoseok's friendship is that they will and do constantly tease each other.
They come from the same college, from the same friend group, and while they don't have the most similarities in personality, they easily get along and understand each other– even at such an early point in their friendship. When they met, it was because Namjoon and Jimin had insisted on having their friend join them to hang out and Seokjin didn't mind at all. None of them did.
And they quickly grew fond of Jung Hoseok just like they were told they would. But Seokjin is very playful and easy to get along with, plus the empty seat that Hoseok had taken was by him, so Seokjin was persistent on helping Hoseok fit right in with them and he absolutely nailed it because he had Hoseok smiling and loosening up within the first few minutes.
After a few months of having Hoseok in their friend group, the two found themselves hanging out often and teasing each other often. Seokjin loves a good tease and Hoseok is always all giggles and loves to tease as well, especially on social media where he can use mischievous or sarcastic little emojis towards Seokjin.
They're all the time going at it with little remarks that make them smile and a pleased feeling settles over them each time they goof off.
"Hyung," Taehyung calls out from across the diner table. He's got the straw to his soda loose between his lips and his eyes set curiously on his phone, forgetting about the food he'd ordered. "You commented on Hoseokie hyung's photo and called him pretty like Cinderella."
Seokjin smiles a little, recalling his comment. "Yeah, what about it?"
Taehyung sips his drink and finally puts his phone down to take a bite of his cold noodles, ignoring Seokjin's question for a moment before finally shrugging.
"You guys are flirting a lot more online now, what if someone finds out you're dating?"
Now, since Seokjin is about to take a bite of his own noodles, he's glad he hadn't yet because he definitely would've been choking on them and embarrassing himself in public. Taehyung's sudden assumption draws his eyes wide and causes him to gape at the younger.
"Sorry, what? Hoseok and I? Dating? Where did you come up with something like that, Taehyung?" He tries to sound serious despite this whole deal being one big joke and despite the genuine curiosity in his voice as he asks. Taehyung cocks an eyebrow at him and looks back down at his phone.
"You two flirt all the time, hyung." He's whispering so that nobody but themselves can hear their conversation. "It's okay, we've all kept your secret for you, but why flirt so casually online if you don't want people to know? Someone may question it, you know."
Seokjin is completely bewildered by the confidence in Taehyung's words. "Taehyungie, Hoseok and I are not dating each other. You don't have to worry about our teasing. It's not flirting, we're just teasing each other is all."
Taehyung doesn't even look him in the eye as a smirk forms and he snickers as if to say yeah, right.
"Okay, hyung."
The tone in his voice and the way he wiggles his eyebrows playfully at Seokjin only lets Seokjin know that he doesn't believe him and that this is some sort of weird 'hiding a relationship' game for him– for all of their friends, apparently. He wonders if Hoseok knows about this speculation or if he's just as clueless as Seokjin was.
———
It happens again, not even a week after his conversation with Taehyung, except this time it's Namjoon who mentions it.
He's more subtle than Taehyung, who flat-out declared that Seokjin was dating Hoseok. Namjoon is always readable when it comes to his expressions, especially now as he sips his mug of coffee and glances suspiciously over at Seokjin after he'd asked his question.
His question: "Would you and Hoseok wanna hang out this weekend? Have a couple beers or something?"
Seokjin would normally say something like "Hell yeah, if you're the one buying," but the fact that Namjoon specifically asked if he and Hoseok wanted to hang out only makes Seokjin cross his arms over his chest and tilt his head as he registers the meaning behind it.
"Namjoon-ah," he says very sweetly. Namjoon lowers his mug and glances at Seokjin again, obviously noticing the near-threatening tone in his voice because he looks a little thrown off, maybe a bit frightened. "Why would I of all people be the one to agree on Hoseok's behalf? Why is that? Care to explain?"
Namjoon's eyes avert from his and they widen. "Ah, well, I just thought– you know. Maybe you could ask him for me or something, of course. I figure you'd both talk it out first."
At this, Seokjin sighs.
"You guys make my brain hurt. I'll ask Hoseok, but not for the reason you're thinking of. Because whatever you're thinking isn't true. Hoseok and I are not dating each other."
But unlike how Seokjin thought Namjoon would've reacted– possibly laughing it off or finally realizing and accepting the truth– Namjoon gives Seokjin a worried look, like he's upset for Seokjin or like he wants to help even though there's nothing to be fixed.
It's useless to tell the truth.
———
This must be Hoseok's first time hearing about their friends' assumption.
Seokjin is flushed red and filled with embarrassment as it's brought up. They all planned to hang out and have beers. All seven of them, just like Namjoon had asked. But Namjoon never mentioned that the boys were gonna get drunk enough that Jimin and Jungkook would end up teasing Seokjin and Hoseok for dating– which should be embarrassing for them because they're so incredibly wrong, but the reason it embarasses Seokjin is because the attention is on him. Hoseok is nervously shifting in his seat with his eyes wide in shock and refusing their statements multiple times.
Hoseok hardly even looks at Seokjin, so he's positive that the embarrassment is mutual between them.
"You two are- are so cute together." Jimin giggles. "All the flirting is just so cute. I wish I had someone to-! Hyung!" He whines at Yoongi, who takes the last of the meat they were all sharing. "I was gonna eat that. You're so mean."
Yoongi laughs. "It's been sitting there for over five minutes now. It's cold, too, and you're just rambling about hyung and Hoseok anyways."
"Because they're so cute, ugh." Jimin looks Hoseok right in the eye. "How long have you two been dating? I think you started flirting almost immediately, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was around the time you first met. Or maybe it was when..."
Jimin keeps rambling and giggling like he does every time he's drunk, but it's clear that Taehyung is amused by him and Seokjin wonders why this all came up so suddenly– three times in a month. Maybe they had all talked about it without Seokjin or Hoseok present?
Either way, Hoseok clearly doesn't know how to take such questions and Seokjin is tired of hearing about it, and tired of seeing Hoseok being dragged into all these questions.
"Jimin-ah," Seokjin finally speaks up, his voice loud and firm. The whole table looks or glances at him– except for Hoseok– and Jimin goes silent. "If we admit that we've been dating, will you guys just leave us alone about it? No more questions asked?"
Hoseok looks up at him with those wide eyes, but Seokjin simply moves his hand under the table and wraps his fingers around Hoseok's wrist to squeeze gently and let him know he's about to do something probably stupid.
"Yeah," Jimin shrugs. "I'll stop asking questions, but are you dating?"
The two turn and look at each other. Hoseok still looks confused and a tiny bit shocked, but he trusts Seokjin's frustration enough to nod and go along with whatever he's got planned.
"Fine. We're dating." Since that's what you all want to hear.
There's a few awes and Jimin claps with his small hands, excited to hear such news. But Seokjin will have to explain to Hoseok later on just why he did this and why it's useless to waste his breath denying anything they say, because he's tried it multiple times now. For now, they sit in silence for the most part, blaming it on the relaxation from alcohol and being full on their delicious meal.
———
Hoseok and Seokjin meet up at a cafe, which isn't out of the ordinary for them to do, but they still sit awkwardly for a few minutes before Hoseok finally speaks up.
"Hyung." He sets his iced coffee to the side and their eyes meet. Seokjin already knows what sort of question– if not the question– that he's going to ask. "Why did you agree with them and say that we're dating? You could've just said no."
Seokjin purses his lips and stares blankly at Hoseok. "You really think I haven't tried that?" he asks. Hoseok's eyes widen and his lips pout a little.
"When? That wasn't the first time?"
"Of course, not. They've been bothering me about it for a month and I swear none of them take no for an answer. You saw for yourself, didn't you?" Hoseok nods defeatedly. "Exactly. So just let them think we're dating. They aren't gonna have it any other way."
"But why not?" Hoseok asks. "Why do they think we're dating, anyway? Are you sure they aren't just teasing?"
He remembers how serious Namjoon was when he asked Seokjin if he and Hoseok wanted to hang out. Namjoon isn't the type to tease about something like that, especially when they're alone or if it's about something so serious. There's no way they're just messing with them.
"They seriously think we're dating," he informs Hoseok. "And I don't know why. I guess it's just because we tease each other so much."
Hoseok scoffs. "But Yoongi hyung and Jiminie tease each other all the time, so why don't they question them for something like that?"
Seokjin stares blankly down at his cup of tea as he recalls his roommate's secret crush on Jimin. Yoongi is never subtle, but teasing Jimin is exactly how he flirts with him, so Seokjin can't help but shudder as he realizes that his own teasing could most definitely be seen as flirting as well.
"It's fine, Hoseokie. We can just pretend to date or whatever so they'll stop asking so many personal questions. It's not like we're actually dating or anything. It'll be fine."
He doesn't notice the lingering gaze Hoseok has on him because he's too busy lifting his tea up and sipping on it.
"Fine. But we're telling everyone that it was just a prank, hyung. I'm not a good liar and you know that. Plus, that'll give me time to get an actual boyfriend so you won't have to deal with their annoying questions anymore."
Seokjin gapes, his mouth open as if he wants to say something, but he isn't sure what. Hoseok doesn't even look him in the eyes, sipping his own drink and ignoring his stare.
"You can keep this up until Valentine's Day," Hoseok continues. "I'm sure I can find someone to ask out that week."
Valentine's Day is a little over a month away. Seokjin didn't know that Hoseok was so confident in finding someone to date just like that.
"Um–"
The bell above the cafe door rings and Seokjin hears cooing coming from the direction of the entrance, definitely Taehyung and Jimin's voices. He nearly flinches as Hoseok raises his hand to his face and brushes his hair to the side, giving him the loveliest smile. Playing along already.
"You guys are on a date?" Taehyung asks as they walk up to their table. They're both smiling wide, happy to see that Seokjin and Hoseok are happy.
"Uh..."
"Yes," Hoseok answers confidently. "Just a casual date. Hyung said he's too broke to take me to any fancy restaurants."
Seokjin gawks at him. "I- No I didn't!"
Again, Hoseok smiles sweetly at Seokjin as their two friends giggle and call them cute. "Don't worry, baby." He places a loving hand on Seokjin's cheek and he most definitely shouldn't feel his heart pound in his chest or his ears burn red, but he does. "I told you it's okay, just take me next time, yeah?"
Seokjin blinks away his blush– something he never thought Jung Hoseok would make him do– and he gently lowers Hoseok's hand away from his face.
"Yeah, yeah. I'll take you somewhere nice and cool and very expensive next time, because I can and I will." He tries to prove that he isn't broke, but Jimin and Taehyung just laugh and tease the couple for being so cute when they tease each other.
The thing is– this is how they normally tease each other, except Hoseok touches him lovingly and calls him pet names. That's all it takes to make Seokjin turn red like a tomato and leave him flustered, which is definitely not normal when it comes to their relationship.
———
There's no specific reason as to why Seokjin actually drags Hoseok out to a fancy dinner date– except there is a specific reason and Seokjin had first assumed that he just wanted to show off how nice of a date he can take someone on, but at some point he realized how targeted this date is toward Hoseok and the things he likes to do or eat.
"Hyung, you don't have to prove yourself."
But Seokjin buys him a pretty bouquet of colorful flowers, tells Hoseok to dress himself nicely, and practically drags Hoseok out to go watch a movie and takes him to a fancy rooftop restaurant where they can see the most gorgeous skyline of the city at night.
"You really shouldn't have."
But Hoseok gently swirls his glass of wine before sipping it cautiously, and he's been enjoying the food as well, taking photos of the meal and photos of or with Seokjin. It's obvious that even though Hoseok tells him he shouldn't have, he still enjoys their date.
Seokjin steals a sip of Hoseok's wine and Hoseok complains that Seokjin's meant to drive afterwards, to which Seokjin argues that he just wanted a sip of the expensive beverage he paid for.
Once they finish eating, they look out over the city and point out a few familiar buildings or locations. The date is fun and they both seem happy by the end of it. Seokjin doesn't hesitate to take his gaze off of the skyline and look at his date instead.
It isn't a real date. However, Seokjin can admire the fact that this day was real. Their date was strictly platonic, yes, but they had fun and Hoseok seems satisfied, so everything is alright. The pleased smile on Hoseok's face makes everything alright.
———
"I still can't believe you two are dating," Yoongi says.
They're having dinner at Seokjin and Yoongi's shared apartment because it's their normal spot, because Yoongi and Seokjin always cook for them, and because they're the oldest. Seokjin doesn't know where Yoongi's sudden statement comes from until he realizes how un-boyfriendy he's been all evening.
Hoseok is sitting next to Jungkook at the kitchen island, both trying to make bowls of rice for everyone, and Seokjin only now realizes that they haven't been playing their part very well other than awkwardly going along with what their friends ask them about.
I saw you two went on a date the other day.
Hyung, I didn't know you were so romantic.
You two are so adorable together.
It's all statements that Seokjin or Hoseok can smile and nod to, but Yoongi's words catch him off guard. He looks over at Hoseok, but before he can even think of an answer, someone else beats him to it.
"Yes, they're so cute!" Jimin exclaims as he enters the kitchen, earning the attention of everyone else in the living room. Seokjin isn't sure what to do with the attention so he just lowers his head. "We saw them on a date at the cafe the other day. Come on guys, show everyone how cute you really are."
Seokjin almost laughs at the idea of them being so cute together. He's a little mischievous as he steps up to the island, facing Hoseok.
"Of course, we're cute. Hoseokie's my little angel."
Hoseok gets the same mischievous look in his eyes as they make eye contact. "But you're my precious baby, hyung." Seokjin wants to snort at how ridiculous it sounds, but instead he smiles like an idiot.
"Ah, but you're my cute lovebug."
"You're my sweet little cupcake."
"Aw, but Hoseokie." He pouts purposefully exaggerated. "You're the one who loves being called cupcake, my sweet baby."
As they go on, the others give each other cocked eyebrows and pretend to puke at the scene before them. Even Jimin looks at them like he regrets ever saying anything in the first place. "Yeah, nevermind. I don't wanna see it anymore. Keep it to yourself, I beg you."
It's very embarrassing, but that's the point, and they both embarrass each other despite both being in the same boat of pretend-dating. It's their fun little game even though the whole point of pretend dating was to keep the others from talking about it in the first place.
From the entrance of the kitchen, Taehyung shrugs. "I still think they're cute."
———
Namjoon and Jungkook stopped by to ask Yoongi and Seokjin if they wanted to go to the bar with them, but as usual, they somehow start talking about completely different subjects and they still haven't gotten on their way to the bar for nearly half an hour.
One subject that Jungkook had brought up suddenly draws surprised gasps and raised eyebrows from the two, and even Yoongi turns his head curiously from where he's sitting and watching TV.
"What?"
It's Jungkook who lets out a surprised wahh, hyung as he gawks at Seokjin. It's all because Seokjin had told them he couldn't go to the bar, to which Jungkook responded, "He's probably going to go be kissy-kissy with his boyfriend," and Seokjin nonchalantly told him, "We don't kiss."
It was defensive considering Seokjin was in the we're just friends mindset, yet it felt bitter being said aloud and even the other three looked at him like he's crazy because Seokjin and Hoseok both may be shy sometimes, but they love physical affection. He can understand why they're confused.
"You've never kissed him?" Yoongi asks, his attention finally on the conversation as he turns the television volume low and gets comfortable in his seat as if he's in for a juicy conversation.
Seokjin shrugs. "I guess it's just never come up in conversation."
"Hyung, are you romantically constipated or something?" Jungkook chuckles as Seokjin warns him with his empty bottle of what once was a flavored water. "You haven't kissed him?! How has it never come up before? Don't you guys want to kiss?"
Does Seokjin want to kiss Hoseok? How would it feel to kiss his close friend? Hoseok has nice lips and he's always very welcoming. He's gorgeous, very attractive, even though Seokjin would never dare to admit that to anyone. And he'll never admit that right now, Jungkook's question makes him zone out and daydream, wondering how Hoseok's kiss would feel and how his lips would fit perfectly between his.
"He's blushing," both Yoongi and Namjoon point out at the same time.
"So he does want to kiss him."
Seokjin blinks out of his daydream and he doesn't realize how flustered he is or how red his skin has turned until the others are teasing him and making it a lot worse.
"You guys are ridiculous," he quickly argues. This time he does swat his water bottle at them, but Jungkook is quick to grab it and squeeze the plastic until it's hardly usable anymore. "You brat! I was going to use that bottle."
"Cowards don't deserve bottles." Jungkook giggles as Seokjin resorts to smacking him with his hand instead, hardly tapping his arm enough to feel.
"Whatever. I'm no coward."
If they knew or accepted the truth of his and Hoseok's actual relationship with one another, they wouldn't be teasing him about kissing. But even if Seokjin was still claiming to not be dating Hoseok to this day, they'd be teasing him for other reasons.
Either way, he seems to lose.
Either way, Hoseok isn't actually his boyfriend. Hoseok wouldn't kiss him.
———
"Hyung, hyung!"
Hoseok rushes to sit across from Seokjin, startling the older as the wooden chair scrapes the floor. He's been sitting at the cafe, waiting for the younger for far too long now. He sets his drink aside and has it in him to immediately complain about how he's already drunk half of it, but then he notices that Hoseok is holding something up to him.
In his hands, he has a little box. Seokjin thinks for a moment that Hoseok looks cute as he's holding onto such a tiny box with both of his hands and with such a shy smile on his face, but he pushes the thought aside.
"What's this?" he asks as he takes the little brown box and shakes it. Hoseok instantly complains and tells him not to shake it, that he's messing up what's inside.
"Just open it," he urges him.
So, Seokjin unties the little red bow that closes the box in and then he takes off the lid, revealing a lump of silver– from where he'd shaken the box. He takes the silver out, already aware that it's a bracelet.
"What's this for?" he asks, shocked as he holds the bracelet up and settles the little heart charm over the back of his free hand.
"I got us matching bracelets." Hoseok suddenly holds up his wrist, which is very pretty and more delicate than ever with the lovely piece of jewelry hanging from it. The heart charm matches the one on Seokjin's bracelet. "It's a friendship bracelet, of course, but we can tell everyone else otherwise."
Seokjin doesn't know whether to be endeared or upset.
Because even though his heart feels all nice and mushy from Hoseok's thoughtful gift, his heart sort of halts feeling at all once he's reminded that he isn't supposed to feel his heart skipping a beat because of his friend.
"Right." He lets Hoseok help him put the jewelry on, earning a constant reminder of their fake relationship. The bracelet fits him well. "Why did you want to buy us matching bracelets?" he asks as he twists it comfortably onto his wrist. Hoseok gives him a small, weak smile.
"Because we're friends, hyung."
Fully aware of the fact, Seokjin nods. "Okay. Did you get the others something?"
At this, Hoseok shifts, obviously uncomfortable in his seat and avoids looking Seokjin in the eye. "I haven't yet. But- But I will. For Valentine's day. Maybe I won't go broke before I find myself a date."
Seokjin scoffs without hesitating. "You shouldn't worry about being broke before your date." The word sounds bitter, but not on purpose. Hoseok just stares at him, curious. "If you date a guy, make him pay for your meal. Don't settle for less."
"Hyung," Hoseok pouts and whines. "Since when are you protective over what happens on my dates?"
"Since I became your boyfriend."
Instantly, Seokjin mentally facepalms himself for saying such words. It isn't what he wanted to say at all– what he meant to say was friend. Since I became your friend. Because friends are supposed to look out for one another.
But Hoseok doesn't find Seokjin's words weird or cringe. Instead of responding, he takes his iced coffee and quietly sips through his straw, lowering his head and practically hiding from Seokjin for whatever reason.
Seokjin clears his throat and changes the subject. "Here." He pulls the sandwich he'd been eating by its wrapper and pushes it to the middle of the table. It's a small sub cut in half, and he's only eaten some of his own. He tells Hoseok to take the other half.
He gets a quick thanks in response before they both silently eat their lunch and go about their day.
———
Seokjin stares dead into Jimin's eyes as the younger annoyingly pushes and tugs his arm back and forth.
"Please, hyung~ It'll be perfect."
He sighs as Jimin whines, pouts, and begs. They were merely shopping for a few groceries Yoongi had forgotten they needed for tonight's dinner, which Jimin was somehow invited to, and they just passed a sign for ice skating.
"I am not asking Hoseok to go ice skating of all things."
Jimin is begging Seokjin to get Hoseok and Yoongi to go on a double date– or at least, what would go unsaid as a double date, considering Jimin and Yoongi still refuse to confess their feelings to each other.
"Hyung," Jimin whines more. "It has to be you two because you're a couple and if me and Yoongi third and fourth wheel, then that leaves us to each other and then maybe I can confess–"
"You'll never confess. It's been years."
Again, Jimin whines. "It'll make Yoongi hyung think of it as a double date! Then he might see me as more than a friend." His voice falters on the last part.
Seokjin sighs and wishes he could just tell Jimin that his feelings are already returned, that Yoongi does see him as more than a friend, but he doesn't want to tell Yoongi's secret because it's not his place to do so.
"Yoongi won't want to skate."
Jimin scoffs. "He mentioned it the other day. And I'm amazing at ice skating, so I can show off and he'll fall in love with my amazing talent."
Seokjin snorts at the ridiculousness. "I'll ask, but I can't promise anything."
———
They end up ice skating.
He totally thought that Hoseok would say no, but even though his response of little emojis were all surprised ones, he still agreed to go skating with them.
So, here they are, dressed in winter attire and on the ice. Jimin, Yoongi, and Seokjin are doing great on their skates. Hoseok is doing fine, but he still holds out for Seokjin's arm and shoulders, too afraid to let go.
"Haven't you been ice skating before?" Seokjin chuckles. Jimin and Yoongi have already done a few laps around the rink together while the couple is still only halfway through because Hoseok frequently asks Seokjin to slow down.
"Yes," the younger says matter-of-factly, "when I was a preteen."
Seokjin laughs, which causes his shoulders to shake, so Hoseok holds on tighter in an attempt to stop him.
"Stop moving so much." He pouts as he speaks and his feet knock into Seokjin's, but not enough to send them tumbling to the ice. "I'm getting the hang of it. Just let me get used to it."
The sound of skates approaching them from behind grabs Hoseok's attention– he almost falls as Jimin scares him by suddenly skating in front of them and halting abruptly. Seokjin wraps his arm around Hoseok's waist as Hoseok curses at Jimin, who giggles.
"Aw, come on." Jimin points between the two of them. "You guys are supposed to be holding hands and skating around like all the cute couples do."
Yoongi skates up next to Seokjin and chuckles. "Why are you teasing them? At least they are a couple."
Jimin narrows his eyes at Yoongi. "Are you teasing me for being single?" He scoffs as he turns around to face the flow of skaters. "How bold of you, considering you're too chicken to ask anyone out yourself."
He skates away quickly and Yoongi argues back as he follows, the two bickering as they leave and start their laps again. They're probably going to tease and bicker at each other the entire time they're here, and probably still won't confess by the end of the day.
Seokjin is paying attention to them, so he doesn't notice that Hoseok stands up better just to be able to reach down for Seokjin's hand.
His eyes widen as he looks down, his and Hoseok's gloves warm against each other and their fingers intertwined. Hoseok holds his chin up high.
"Okay. I can do this."
They get to lapping around (slowly but surely) and Seokjin smiles until his cheeks hurt because Hoseok is smiling just as wide with his heart-shaped and open laugh. Once Hoseok gets the hang of it, he acts like he's never had so much fun in his life.
He holds Seokjin close even after he gets the hang of it, and Yoongi is the one who calls him out on it. Even so, he doesn't let go of Seokjin's hand.
"I just want to hold my boyfriend's hand," he excuses, "is that a crime?"
No, but the true crime is the fact that butterflies swarm Seokjin's tummy once he's acknowledged as his boyfriend– though he knows it's all an act, it still makes him smile like an idiot. Jimin rolls his eyes.
"Anyways," the youngest of them cuts in through Yoongi's laughter. "We're getting hungry and Yoongi hyung's already complained about his feet hurting about fifty times now–"
"I have not–!"
"So, how about we go get something to eat? Hyung, remember that barbeque place we saw on our walk the other day? It's just right down the street."
Seokjin nods. "I'm fine with that if you guys are." As they come up to the entrance of the rink, Seokjin stops and makes sure to help Hoseok stop as well, and he lets go of his hand once they're finally off the ice and able to sit down and take their skates off.
Once they're free of ice skating and all walk down to the small restaurant, they order their food and talk about how the skating went, how there was a little girl who fell on her butt, and Jimin teases Yoongi, saying how he almost fell as well.
Totally done with their bickering, Hoseok merely shakes his head and leans into Seokjin, muttering, "We should've just gone on our own date. I feel like I'm the one third-wheeling."
Both Yoongi and Jimin are easily flustered by Hoseok's not-so-subtle words and they even avoid looking at each other to hide their blushing. Neither of them realize that the other is into him and it makes Seokjin shake his head at them.
"Well," he lets out over the awkward tension between those two. He lifts his hand to the back of Hoseok's head and cups it, then scratches gently between his locks of dark brown hair. "If you wanted me to try a little harder, you could've just said so, baby." He teases Hoseok now. "C'mere, you want a kiss?"
He leans in playfully and doesn't miss the tiny gasp in Hoseok's throat before he hesitates a little and then moves to avoid Seokjin's playful kissy face and presses his hand against his shoulder to back him away.
"N-Not in public," he says, which causes Seokjin to stop and stare dumbly at him. Yoongi, from across the table, chuckles.
"I thought you two haven't even kissed yet?"
Hoseok's eyes widen at Yoongi's comment. He isn't the best at hiding what he's thinking and Yoongi even looks a little surprised by Hoseok's surprise. They look like clowns staring back at each other– that is until Hoseok turns to Seokjin and furrows his eyebrows.
"You told them that we haven't kissed?" he asks. He looks confused and for some reason, there's a slight pout in his tone.
Seokjin looks away and tries to focus on getting his next bite of barbeque. He tries to hide the fact that he feels called-out and a bit shy at the mention of kissing him again. "They were teasing me about it and it's the truth. There's nothing wrong with it."
"But, hyung." Hoseok visibly pouts now and truthfully, Seokjin has no idea why. Not until Hoseok speaks up again. "They probably think we're cowards," he whines as he nudges Seokjin's arm. Seokjin lightly laughs, a bit awkward.
"You could just do it now," Jimin tells them, smirking. "We'll close our eyes, right hyung?" He looks at Yoongi, who just shrugs because he isn't looking at them anyways. He's eating, ignoring the conversation now.
Hoseok scoots an inch away from Seokjin and clears his throat. "Um. Absolutely not. I'm not doing anything like that–" Seokjin's heart drops– "in public." Then his heart does a flip.
He glances at Hoseok, wanting to ask if he'd ever do it at all, if he'd ever kiss him. But he has to remind himself that they aren't truly dating and that it would be putting Hoseok in a weird situation, plus give himself away.
Give himself away...
Seokjin stares in shock at his plate as he thinks to himself, what exactly would I be giving away?
Before he can think too much about it, Hoseok changes the subject and asks Jimin something about work and they start a new conversation which distracts Seokjin just enough to push his thoughts aside for now.
———
It's not unusual for them to hang out at Namjoon's apartment and have beers or let loose and party for a night, just the seven of them most of the time. It is unusual, however, for Namjoon to offer his guest bedroom for Seokjin and Hoseok.
He's let people sleep over on his couch, in the bedroom, and one time he even let Taehyung and Jimin crash on his bed with him because the others had all passed out everywhere else.
But this time when Namjoon texts the group chat and tells them to come over next weekend with their own drinks, he specifically tells the couple that they can just crash in his guest room together. He's used to them passing out wherever, but he tells Jungkook and Jimin that if they plan on passing out, that the couch is big enough for them, to which they accepted in defeat.
Seokjin does typically drink enough to crash with his dongsaengs, and Hoseok is sometimes dragged in as well, but they don't know how to react with Namjoon offering them the bedroom other than thanking him for it.
When the weekend comes and Seokjin shows up at Namjoon's door with his roommate instead of his boyfriend, Namjoon snorts out a laugh.
"Hyung, you're making your boyfriend drive here himself? He isn't even that far away from your apartment, you totally could've stopped by and gotten him."
At that, Yoongi shakes his head. "I swear they're the weirdest couple. They're more like middle schoolers with crushes on each other."
Seokjin smacks both of them on the arm and complains wildly, telling them to respect their eldest friend and how he and Hoseok can do things, that they aren't children, and they're new at this so they should cut them some slack. By the time he's settling down, Hoseok invites himself through Namjoon's open door and Namjoon gasps once he realizes he left it unlocked.
"The party's here," Hoseok says with a smile.
Hours later, the "party" settles on the couch by Seokjin, his head drooping over his shoulder constantly. Seokjin laughs lightly to not startle him too much. He nudges Hoseok.
"You tired?"
They've been partying with drinks, food, and karaoke. And as always, Hoseok mellows down and relaxes so much that he has nearly fallen asleep four times now. He nods slowly in response to Seokjin's question.
The others are still partying and having fun, and Seokjin was as well, but he's starting to feel a little tired himself. Not so much sleepy, but definitely tired. His social battery ran out about ten minutes ago and Hoseok is sleepy anyways, so he nudges Yoongi who's beside him to tell him that they're headed to bed. Yoongi nods.
He tugs Hoseok up by his arm and since all attention is on the fun karaoke song that Jimin and Taehyung are belting out as Jungkook and Namjoon dance and sing without microphones, they easily flee the scene and make it to Namjoon's guest bedroom in one piece.
Once the door is closed, the music is muffled and the slight pounding of Seokjin's head settles a bit.
"Here." He goes to the dresser that's pushed up against the wall and he digs around Namjoon's old clothes– there's a random piece of clothing from each of the seven friends and Seokjin even finds a shirt he's been looking for. "Wear this."
He gives Hoseok a pair of sweatpants and tshirt that are both Namjoon's, but Hoseok throws the sweats back into the drawer and shrugs when Seokjin glances up at him.
"It's too hot in here. Don't want pants."
Seokjin watches in awe as Hoseok starts taking his clothes off, but he quickly looks away and tries to focus on his own temporary pajamas. He chooses those sweatpants and his own shirt, then waits for Hoseok to finish up in the half bathroom, where he's washing his face.
He comes out of the bathroom and Seokjin's skin buzzes with warmth once he sees that Namjoon's big, brown shirt engulfs Hoseok's body. He looks so adorable with it covering most of his upper thighs.
After they're both dressed for bed and washed away any sweat or dirtiness off themselves, they plop restlessly onto the bed and try to get comfortable. It's only a full size, so they're close to each other, but they don't mind. If anything, Hoseok uses it to his advantage.
He wraps an arm over Seokjin's chest and drapes his leg over him as well, also taking advantage of the fact that Seokjin sleeps on his back. He settles in close and then removes his hand from Seokjin's chest, instead reaching up and carding his fingers through his hair multiple times, brushing the tangles out and massaging gently.
Seokjin's eyes close because he can't help but feel sleepy with Hoseok's touch. It's so gentle and sweet, the way he plays with his hair.
"Hyung."
He's brought out of his sleepy state with Hoseok's voice. "Hm?"
"Valentine's Day is soon." He keeps playing with Seokjin's hair as if the statement is nothing to him, but Seokjin holds his breath and his heart begins to race in his chest. He doesn't like the reminder at all. "Hyung," Hoseok says again, his voice light and airy as if he's falling asleep. Even his fingers slow down in Seokjin's hair. "I don't want it to come."
He stops moving and his hand falls limp over Seokjin. Just when Seokjin thought that he was the only one, he can't help but think maybe Hoseok feels the same way. Maybe Hoseok doesn't want Valentine's Day to come because he doesn't want what they have to end.
At least, that's all Seokjin can hope for.
———
The week of Valentine's Day is right around the corner and Seokjin wants to make the most of the time he has as Hoseok's fake boyfriend.
He invites Hoseok over to watch a movie with him and Yoongi. There's nothing unusual about the three doing something like this together, but Seokjin knows that since Yoongi will be there, he and Hoseok have to act as boyfriends. Otherwise, it would be a normal day for them– they'd be just friends.
So, he invites Hoseok to come watch a movie and ends up inviting Taehyung as well because the movie is one he's been dying to watch.
On Saturday evening, the four pile up with blankets, popcorn, and drinks. Taehyung rambles to Yoongi about how the director of the movie had gotten caught in some rumors recently and Yoongi, a man who loves random knowledge, eats it up. While they talk about that, Hoseok scoots closer to Seokjin to get some popcorn from his lap and gets comfortable on the couch as Yoongi finally plays the movie.
As the movie plays, the fake couple gets lost in each other. They whisper little teases and remarks like "look hyung, that guy is nearly as weird as you are," and "Hoseok-ah, why can't you be kind to me like how that guy's kind to everyone? Where's your manners?" and Hoseok would giggle and mutter in return, "You're the only elder I get to disrespect, hyung."
Seokjin scoffs. "Since when did you earn the right to disrespect me?"
"Since we became boyfriends–"
"Hyung," Taehyung whines aloud, looking over at both of them and catching their attention. "Stop flirting and watch the movie~ You guys are distracting me over there."
They give an apologetic look to Taehyung, but once they finally quiet down it's mostly because they're blushing and too afraid to speak anymore– too afraid of being accused of flirting yet again.
So, they watch the movie quietly.
Hoseok begins yawning after the movie is over and they're all talking about the scenes they can recall. Seokjin and Yoongi complain about the ending while Taehyung grins knowingly.
Seokjin hardly realizes that he and Hoseok are still sitting so close together. The only reason he does realize is because he feels the gentlest weight on his shoulder. His heart melts once he realizes that Hoseok had gotten so comfortable that he'd fallen asleep on his shoulder.
"He must've been tired," Yoongi says.
"Clearly." Taehyung snickers. "Hyung, just let him stay here tonight. He isn't in the right state to drive home now anyway."
Seokjin nods, then gently taps Hoseok's arm. "Hoseokie–" he clears his throat, then corrects himself, "Baby, get up. You can sleep in my room tonight."
Hoseok stirs in his sleep, but he only pouts and nuzzles into Seokjin's neck. His nose is smooth against his skin and Seokjin shudders as he feels the slightest hint of his lips brushing against him as well.
"Just carry me," he mumbles sleepily.
Seokjin chuckles. "You and I both know that isn't gonna work. Come on. Get up, you big baby."
Hoseok grumbles, looking madder than ever because he's been awoken, but Taehyung coos as Seokjin helps him up and leads him away from the couch.
"You two are so cute," he says lovingly. "Have a good night, hyung," he tells Hoseok. "Don't have too much fun, though. I'm sure Yoongi hyung wouldn't appreciate that."
Yoongi shakes his head harshly and Seokjin rolls his eyes while Hoseok is still too sleepy and oblivious, trying to stand up straight rather than listening.
"Brat. Goodnight, you two."
They head to Seokjin's bedroom and just like that, Hoseok is cuddling Seokjin to sleep and Seokjin is eating it up. He loves the feeling all too well.
———
It's the week of Valentine's Day.
Hoseok asked him if they could meet up at the cafe and Seokjin has never dreaded going somewhere so much. He's almost positive that Hoseok wants to talk about how they plan to tell everyone that they were just messing with them, that they weren't really dating.
But Yoongi and Namjoon asked Seokjin what he was going to do with Hoseok on the special day and he'd panicked and said he'd probably just take him out for dinner, knowing damn well that Hoseok plans to find someone else to have a date with.
At the cafe, he shifts uncomfortably in his seat. He doesn't feel like drinking coffee or anything else for that matter, so he doesn't buy himself anything. Hoseok, however, has already sipped his iced americano dry within five minutes and even Seokjin worries for his health, but doesn't say anything.
"So."
Seokjin's heart plummets. "So..?"
"Valentine's Day is this weekend," Hoseok states. He looks down at his empty cup and with a quieter voice, he says, "I think I got a date with my friend's friend."
The world feels smaller all of a sudden. "Oh." Seokjin gulps away the hard lump in his throat, but it hurts too much. "A friend's friend? Do you know this guy?"
Hoseok shrugs. "A friend from work. His friend was looking for a date, so he asked me what I was doing on Valentine's." These words remind Seokjin that it's only their friend group that thinks they're dating. Nobody else, including Hoseok's coworkers, even know about their fake relationship.
"So what I'm getting is that you still want to tell our friends that we aren't dating on Valentine's Day..?"
Hoseok's eyes meet his and he gives a small, weak smile. "Mhm."
He doesn't seem confident in that decision at all, or maybe it's just Seokjin telling himself that and trying to read too much into things. But the way Hoseok's gaze falls and his smile does as well, he can't be imagining things.
"If that's what you want, then okay." Seokjin inhales, trying to calm the bitterness of his heart. "I'll come to your place before your date and we can video call everyone to tell them."
Hoseok tries to drink his cup dry, though he already has, and he mumbles a small "okay" to himself.
Seokjin gives him a weak smile in return. "Okay. I'll see you then?" he asks as he begins getting up from his seat. Hoseok nods and again, he only lets out another small "okay" before letting Seokjin leave the cafe.
———
The weekend comes quickly and Seokjin has a throbbing headache as he wakes up to the sound of birds chirping on Valentine's Day morning. The sound of chirping aggravates him more than it should.
Eventually after lying in bed for a few more minutes, he gets up and decides to start his day despite not wanting to. He brushes his teeth, takes a shower, puts on his favorite pair of dark grey slacks and a white t-shirt, and leaves his hair over his forehead instead of fixing it.
He heads out of his apartment, still bitter and still with a headache, but he goes by the cafe to get himself and Hoseok a coffee– he's heading there anyway. So, he gets a small snack for them as well and he ends up eating his on the way in hopes to stop his stomach from growling so much.
When he gets to Hoseok's apartment complex, his headache has settled some, but he still feels a pit of regret in his stomach as he enters the building. In all honesty, he really doesn't want to see Hoseok right now. He doesn't want to stop what they were doing– or rather, he never wanted his heart to feel so empty by the end of this, yet it already does.
They're just friends; Seokjin knew this since the moment they started fake dating. But what he didn't know was how lovely Hoseok is to date, how pretty he looks with the fancy candlelit dinner glowing on his shiny cheeks, or how much he'd end up liking their little game. He'd never seen Hoseok in such a light before, but now that he has, it feels wrong to let it all go.
As he walks up to Hoseok's door, he feels like the whole world is crashing down on him.
Hoseok has a date with some guy named Jihu today and it just isn't fair. He hardly even knows this guy. Seokjin could offer so much more than him. Seokjin doesn't need a first date to tell Hoseok whether or not he wants to be with him– he already knows his answer, unlike Jihu.
Still, he knocks on the door lightly, knowing very well that it's all over regardless. He can't confess these feelings to Hoseok and Hoseok might not appreciate it on today of all days.
His knock is responded to shortly and as expected, it's Hoseok who opens the door. His dark hair is slightly wavy, laid cutely and a bit messily over his forehead, and he's got a white t-shirt on underneath a blue jean jacket with matching pants. He looks cute for a casual date. Seokjin has to bite his tongue.
"Hi, hyung."
Inhaling all his thoughts away, Seokjin simply holds up the iced coffee he'd bought along with the brown baggy in his other hand. "I brought your favorite."
Hoseok smiles sweetly and accepts the drink and snack, then leads Seokjin inside the apartment and towards the kitchen counter, which he leans over as he eats and drinks happily, changing their conversation and asking Seokjin how his day is so far.
"It's fine," he lies. "I had a headache when I woke up, but that's gone now."
"You should've slept for longer," Hoseok tells him. "You're here a lot earlier than I thought you'd be. I just got dressed and was going to go get coffee, but you... you know me well." He smiles. Seokjin tries to give him a smile that isn't broken or weak.
"Of course, I know you. You're my boyfriend after all."
He knows he shouldn't have mentioned it, but he'd rather get it over with than drag it on. Once Hoseok registers his words, he glances up at Seokjin and gives him the same look he gave him the other day in the cafe– a weak smile that mirrors Seokjin's.
"Right," he mutters. He turns to his coffee and sips it, but doesn't get a lot of coffee at all. It's the smallest sip Seokjin's ever seen and he's used to seeing Hoseok taking big gulps of that stuff. "We're ending that today," Hoseok suddenly declares. Seokjin's shoulders feel like there are bricks weighing them down.
"Yeah. I'm aware." He means for it to come out playfully or even sarcastically, but it just comes out small and helpless.
Hoseok glances at him again, this time really getting a good look at him. "Hyung." He looks back at his coffee and nervously shifts around a bit, making sure he averts his eyes. "Don't you have someone you'd like to spend Valentine's with?"
The weight on his shoulders falls onto his heart as well. He doesn't mean to make Hoseok uncomfortable, yet it seems he has. He backs away into the archway of the kitchen and leans against the trim of the wall.
"I do."
Hoseok's eyes widen and his head snaps up to look at him. "You do? Really?" he asks, his voice higher than usual. He clears his throat and looks away once again. "I didn't know you liked someone."
"I do," Seokjin repeats as he looks right at Hoseok, who has such a beautiful side profile and such a pretty hint of confusion creeping into his expression. "I do like someone, but they don't like me back."
Hoseok frowns as he looks at him again. "Hyung, have you asked them? How could anyone not like you?"
He shrugs. "They're going on a date with someone else today." It's his turn to avert his eyes as he sips his own drink. "It's fine," he says, still feeling Hoseok's eyes on him. "It's fine, really."
But Hoseok doesn't seem to think so. He stands up straighter and his eyes are glued onto Seokjin as he asks, "You're just gonna give up that easily?" Seokjin finally looks him in the eye and frowns. "Hyung, what if that someone wants you too?"
Seokjin gently shakes his head. "He would never."
For a moment, the room falls silent. Seokjin looks away, finding the refrigerator much more interesting than anything else– he's staring off into nothingness, but he can still see Hoseok move in the corner of his vision.
Hoseok steps up to him and before he can even question it or turn to look at him, Hoseok raises his hand to Seokjin's cheek and he gently forces the older to look down at him, their eyes meeting. Seokjin holds his breath, not used to seeing Hoseok's pretty eyes up so close like this.
"He would," Hoseok says. Seokjin forgot what they were talking about because all he can think about is Hoseok standing so close, cupping his jaw. All he can think about is the swell of his chest and the loud beating of his heart as he sees Hoseok's eyes fall to his lips.
"Hoseokie..?"
Hoseok lifts his other hand to cup his jaw as well and Seokjin feels lightheaded. "I think I liked it better when you used your cheesy pet names on me, hyung."
He swallows thickly. "Baby..?"
Hoseok smiles, big and hearty. "Much better. Say it again." He darts his gaze from Seokjin's eyes to his lips a few times, his big brown eyes pleading. Seokjin gulps as he drops his gaze to Hoseok's lips as well and suddenly everything seems so surreal.
"Baby."
Hoseok gently pulls Seokjin towards him; it's all Seokjin needs before he's leaning right in and inhaling a quick breath of air before locking his lips right onto Hoseok's. Their lips are warm and inviting, fitting perfectly together as Hoseok lets out a little sound of joy and cards his fingers through Seokjin's hair instead.
Seokjin places his hands on Hoseok's waist neatly, not sure of where to put them, but Hoseok seems much more confident with his hands and kiss; he slips his fingers into Seokjin's hair and focuses on Seokjin's bottom lip as if he already had it in mind and knew exactly what he wanted.
They pull away for a breather, but Hoseok doesn't let them stop. He tugs Seokjin's t-shirt along with him as he backs into the counter and hops up on it. When Seokjin is standing between his legs, he leans back in and kisses him again.
Seokjin's head is spinning with every little kiss and especially as Hoseok takes his hands and pulls them to wrap around his waist, guiding him to let him know it's okay.
They pull away just enough for Hoseok to whisper out a needy "hyung" and then Hoseok cups his cheeks again, pulling him in for more eager kisses as he wraps his legs around Seokjin's waist and keeps him closer than ever– and maybe Hoseok has always been this eager to have Seokjin's kiss, but he never would've known until now.
Seokjin loves to kiss the subtle pout on Hoseok's lips and he loves how full his heart feels because of Hoseok. The kiss is so fulfilling and his heart feels so content that he doesn't even know what to do with himself other than kiss Hoseok and pull his waist a little closer.
When Hoseok's legs wrap a little tighter around his waist, he decides that they shouldn't go too far, so he pulls away from the kiss for good this time and they both catch their breath.
"Hoseokie..?"
Hoseok's head drops and Seokjin gently squeezes his waist to reassure him. He finally explains, "I'm sorry, hyung. I wasn't sure you'd like me back, but then you came in and talked about how the person you like is going on a date today and– I hope you were talking about me, at least, or else this would be awkward."
Seokjin laughs, which makes Hoseok smile.
"Of course, it's you," he tells the younger, his ears bright red as he confesses. "But since when do you like me? Why are you going on a date instead of confessing to me?"
Hoseok frowns and he playfully, very gently hits Seokjin's arm. "Hyung, I couldn't just do that! You're my best friend. I wouldn't want to ruin that or make things awkward between us, and I also don't want to be single forever. I didn't think you'd like me back, so yeah, I agreed on that date with Jihu."
"Baby..." He lifts his hand and brushes Hoseok's messy hair until it's in a perfect spot out of his eyes. "You didn't answer my first question. Since when do you like me, hm?"
Again, Hoseok's head falls. "Since a few months after we met," he mumbles quietly. Seokjin's heart soars and he swears his body does as well with how light it feels, like he could be blown away in the wind. His smile becomes stupidly big.
"Hoseok-ah." He gently cups his jaw and makes him return his gaze. Hoseok looks shy and it's incredibly adorable. "How are you so shy now after kissing the hell out of me?" He chuckles and Hoseok pouts.
"Because I just confessed to you."
Seokjin nods. "You sure did. But do you want to be my real boyfriend? Do you think you would like that? Like being with me?"
Hoseok pushes further into Seokjin's hold, wrapping his arms around his waist and hugging him tight. "I do, I really do. All this fake stuff was killing me, hyung. You were giving me a taste of something that I never thought I'd have."
His shoulders fall with a soft, accepting sigh. "Yeah, it was killing me too." Seokjin hugs Hoseok back and pushes his face into his neck. "Be mine for real, then. I'll be the best boyfriend. I promise."
A light giggle echoes into his ear. He smiles and softens his hold on Hoseok as the younger tells him, "You were already the best."
But Seokjin plans to be a real boyfriend– one who doesn't run away from his feelings and one who won't feel guilty for liking his best friend. He plans to love Hoseok more than ever before.
———
"Fake?"
"What the fu–"
"What do you mean, it was all fake?" Taehyung is the last to question them, eyes comically wide as he stands up in reaction, completely baffled.
Seokjin and Hoseok decided to tell them over video chat like they had planned, except Seokjin is still holding Hoseok's hand– which is visible to Hoseok's laptop camera– and Hoseok giggles, then looks at Seokjin with hearts in his eyes.
"It was all fake," Hoseok says, "but hyung and I talked about it and we decided to date for real."
Namjoon raises his hands to his head in attempt to not pull his hair out, Yoongi has wide eyes, Jungkook is folding his laundry and listening with eyes just as wide as Yoongi's, Taehyung is standing in front of his camera with disbelief written all over his expression, and Jimin lets out a "Wahh, you guys are so mean."
"Why did you fake all of this?" Namjoon is the one to ask.
"Well." Seokjin playfully narrows his eyes at the camera. "You guys kept insisting with your big, smart brains that we were dating and we just played along so you'd leave us alone."
Namjoon and Taehyung both look terrified of his answer and immediately start apologizing and the others are silent except for Yoongi, who just mutters "Damn" to himself.
"It's fine~" Hoseok sings into the camera. "We're actually together now, so it's okay."
"Yeah," Seokjin agrees, "so now it's time for some other cowards to make a move. I mean hell, it's Valentine's Day."
Jimin and Yoongi shift uncomfortably and avert their eyes very obviously. Seokjin is almost positive that he sees Jungkook snicker and Taehyung smirk as they notice as well. Pretty much everyone knows that Yoongi and Jimin are who Seokjin is calling out.
"Hyung," Jimin whines as if he's accepting the tease personally. "I know you're talking about Yoongi hyung and I," he very surprisingly outs himself, "but hyung asked me out today, thank you very much." He crosses his arms and then lifts his small hand to cover his smile as Yoongi gets all flustered and tells Jimin not to give into the teasing.
It's news to everyone, but Seokjin feels his second sigh of relief for the day.
"It's about time, Yoongi-yah!" he scolds the second oldest. Yoongi pouts and defends himself and Hoseok falls into Seokjin, laughing his ass off along with the rest of their friends.
"You're all a mess," Jungkook tells them in his soft, fond voice. "I'm just glad you're all happy. Seeing you happy makes me happy."
Seokjin turns to look at Hoseok, who also grows quiet as he returns his gaze. He gives a questioning tilt of his head to Seokjin, but the oldest just smiles at how cute his boyfriend is.
He leans in without hesitation and pecks Hoseok's lips. It earns a gasp, a few aws and an "ah, here we go again, these two lovebirds."
Hoseok giggles and covers his ears cutely, shy as he pulls away and starts telling the others goodbye and to have a nice Valentine's Day.
Once he hangs up the call in a hurry, he pulls Seokjin in again with his fingertips grazing Seokjin's cheeks and he kisses him right on the mouth, sweet and adorable with the way he smacks his lips and then continues pressing multiple pecks to his boyfriend.
"Why are you attacking me with kisses?" Seokjin asks. "Not that I mind."
Hoseok looks him in the eyes with that big, heart-shaped grin. "Because you're finally mine and because I can– you said so yourself." It's true. Earlier, Seokjin had told him that he could kiss him as many times as he wanted to.
"Okay," he accepts his fate. "Then kiss me more. What're you waiting for?"
Hoseok ends up towering Seokjin and kissing him into the sofa, not letting him go until he's satisfied and even then, he still ends up just snuggling into his boyfriend and holding him all noon.
It's everything Seokjin could have ever hoped for and more.
