Kim Seokjin is a TV-show host.

Late-night show, chatting about the current events in the world— mainly South Korea— always playing around with his audience and making jokes all the time; Seokjin was known as a fun, very comedic, and very handsome talk-show host. Everyone loves him.

Of course, it took a while to become well-known enough to begin his journey as a host. He'd gone from acting on a few shows to being in a few small movies to eventually having a social status high enough and a comedic level likable enough for people to want more of it. So, he was given the opportunity to give the people more.

He'd met many celebrities by now and had become one himself, his name eventually out there to be known and his fame arose quickly as it did.

It was no surprise when the producer of his show had told him that he'd be interviewing a singer this coming month. There had been several singers on the show and Seokjin was sort of past the shock of meeting such people with high ranks. But he wasn't necessarily ready to be given the name of that one singer, the one he'd be interviewing soon according to his producer: Jeon Jungkook.

He shuddered at the name a bit. He'd only met Jungkook once before and it was years ago. It's just— something about hearing that name made his body tingle— because all he could remember was the awkward tension between the two when they'd met back then. Still, he brushed it off and nodded at the name, willing to do the interview.

Maybe it would even be a little amusing to bring up their awkward meeting from years ago. It meant nothing now, so maybe Jungkook would laugh it off with him as well. Right. That's what he'd do.

——

The day of the interview with idol Jungkook came quicker than Seokjin thought it would. He seemed a bit unprepared and now a lot more nervous to even think of bringing up their embarrassing meeting from years ago, but it was already set that he'd bring it up in the welcoming and he couldn't turn back so suddenly— maybe he could, but he just didn't want to.

He most definitely couldn't change it last minute from his notes-script as he walked out onto the stage— to his usual seating desk to talk to guests— and he welcomed his audience, introducing himself. The show was starting and it was too late to turn back now.

The show started out lightly, an instant joke making the audience laugh and loosen up. It seemed just so easy at first, as usual.

"Today we have a very special guest," he eventually told the audience. The people immediately started to clap and cheer, Jeon Jungkook's fans filling nearly the entire seating area— he knew that because of the familiar merch they wore and their energetic screams. "He's had multiple number-one albums, tons of hit songs, and has won many, many daesangs just this year alone. His new single "Euphoria" just came out this past year and he's here to kindly bless us with his presence. Please welcome Jeon Jungkook!"

The cheers became much louder as Seokjin turned to the entrance that his guests usually walk out of, clapping to himself as he watched the still young, very good-looking idol walk out onto the stage area.

Jungkook wore a nice black button-up tucked into black slacks, which looked tight on his legs. His dark brown hair was grown out a bit, wavy locks split down the middle and brushed just over the many piercings on his ear. He looked a bit more mature with his sharp jawline and handsome features— and he had a lot more piercings than he had those years back when Seokjin had met him before. With his big brown eyes glistening as he waved back at his fans and a big smile planted on his face as he did, he looked so gorgeous.

They both immediately bowed upon seeing each other, Jungkook's head tilted low. Greeting already came through much easier than what it had seemed years ago. Years ago, Seokjin was still a bit shy around people— especially celebrities or people he first met. Today, he felt much more confident with the happy audience and Jungkook's kind smile.

"Welcome, welcome. Please, sit down. Make yourself comfortable," he told the singer, gesturing to the single-cushioned chair next to his desk. Jungkook soon took the offer, so Seokjin sat back at his desk as well. Eventually, the cheers died down. "Ah, Jungkook-ssi, it's been years since I first met you. Look at you now, all the success and your loving fans." The crowd cheered again at his words, the two smiling, amused.

"Ah, yes," Jungkook finally spoke. Smooth, soft voice. Gently-spoken. Very nice. "Thank you for having me. It has been years, hasn't it?"

  There was his chance.

"Yeah, I think our first meeting was a bit awkward, yes?" Seokjin chuckled at the thought. "Do you remember that Jungkook-ssi?"

  "Oh trust me, I do."

Jungkook made a strange look, averting his eyes as the audience suddenly laughed and giggled. A bit confused, Seokjin raised his hands as if to say What?

"Ah, what's that supposed to mean? Should we tell the fans the story?" The crowd of fans shouted Yes! all together, booming throughout the room. Jungkook raised his hands to his ears, but not for the intention of blocking out the sound— the singer seemed to be cringing to himself, shrinking a bit into the chair he was in as he cutely held onto his ears.

"You tell your side first," he shyly mumbled to Seokjin.

His side is embarrassing. The way he remembered meeting Jungkook was too cringy to think about. He scrunched his nose up at the thought alone.

"Okay, my side?" He questioned again. Jungkook nodded as he crossed his legs over, now gripping tight onto his own hands that were placed over his knees.

"Okay, uh—" Seokjin hadn't planned to talk about his side of the story today. He didn't prepare for it at all. "I... Well, I had gotten a call from a friend— Yoongi. Min Yoongi." The fans buzzed again, approving of the name; Yoongi is Jungkook's main producer, so he was sure that the fans knew who he was. "Yes, him. Yoongi called me and was like— 'Hyung, I've got Jeon Jungkook here and he's wanting to meet you at your place. Like, now.' It just shocked me because why on earth would the Jeon Jungkook want to meet me , you know?"

Jungkook shook his head, smiling away as the fans cracked up a bit.

Seokjin continued. "Well, I wasn't prepared for anyone to ask to come over at all, really. Nobody had ever just asked to come to my apartment back then, and the only thing I thought of was why you wanted to meet me all of a sudden—"

"It's because you're so cool," Jungkook blurted out, giggling after he did. His smile was precious and so was his laugh. "I asked Yoongi hyung to text you and he ended up calling instead."

Seokjin held his hand up to his heart. "You think I'm cool? Still? Even after that day?"

"No." Jungkook cheekily laughed in return, kidding with him.

"Ah, I swear I tried," the older kept on, laughing as he spoke. "I asked Yoongi what in the world I was supposed to do. He told me— he said "Just buy some chips. Jungkook really likes snacks. Good luck,' and that was it!" The audience, including Jungkook, began laughing with him. "Yoongi only told me to buy snacks and I had no clue what you liked! I'd never even talked to you on social media or anything!"

"You bought corn chips and salsa."

"Was that bad?" Seokjin questioned. Jungkook shook his head, but he started to cringe to himself again, scrunching his nose up and avoiding his eyes.

"You were quiet, though." He looked to the audience, then back to the older. "You wore some old t-shirt and sweatpants, and you hardly spoke to me. It was so awkward, just sitting on the couch in silence like that..."

The fans snickered, but Seokjin froze. "I- What were we supposed to do—?!"

"You started to play Mario Kart and forgot about me the entire evening."

It was his turn to cringe. He covered his face, feeling his cheeks heat up at the most awkward of memories hitting him. Having Jungkook over was the most anxious and awkward feeling and neither of them has spoken much, so of course he'd turn on games to play! What else were they supposed to do?!

Seokjin shook his head, pushing the pain of memory away. "Yah, I didn't wear sweatpants and an old t-shirt! I dress nicely, I swear. And I prepared chips and games, wasn't that alright? I just— I was quiet, but that's because I didn't know what to talk about or anything—"

  "You're a talk-show host!"

Again, his ears were burning red. "What did you want me to do? You don't like Mario Kart? I could've chosen a different game."

Jungkook chuckled, his eyes gleaming prettily up at him. "Well." He simply shrugged. "I thought I was kind of obvious with what I had told Yoongi hyung to say to you... Maybe it was a communication error, then?"

With what he told Yoongi to say?

"Wait." Seokjin fully turned to the singer, holding his hands up to halt the conversation. "Communication error? You just wanted to meet and hang out, right?" Jungkook then pursed his lips. He averted his eyes again as well, the faintest red stain of blush on his cheeks. "Wait— right? "

  Something felt mistaken.

Maybe they were on the wrong page those few years ago. Maybe it was a communication error. But how would Seokjin have known? All he knew was that Jeon Jungkook, a rising star-singer, had suddenly been asking through a mutual friend to come over to his place. The only thing he could think was Oh shit, why would he ask that?

Seokjin had met many celebrities in his life. If he ever met any celebrity before meeting them on his talk show, it was either because he met them through an event or on social media at least, but Jungkook did the complete opposite. He didn't reach out on social media and Seokjin hadn't met him at any awards show or other type of event before. Jungkook was a rising star then— a fairly new, yet popular singer.

Sometimes Seokjin's show producer would set up meetings with celebrities for him like at a restaurant or at their company building so he could meet with them a bit before the interviews, but Jeon Jungkook beat him to it. Seokjin thought that Jungkook probably never wanted to see him again after their awkward first meeting because he'd never been on his show before— even after so many years.

Seokjin didn't know what the hell he was doing back then. It wasn't his fault.

"Ah," Jungkook let out, bouncing his leg under the one that was crossed on top. "I don't think we were on the same page. I thought, you know..." Seokjin does not know. He never did know. "But when I got to your place and nothing went to plan I just thought, wow, maybe he's just not interested in me. "

The crowd of fans oo-ed and let out disappointed wows , shaking their head at Seokjin, but the show host's eyes widened at the younger and the world seemed to stop immediately with his unexpected words.

Did he seriously miss a chance with Jeon Jungkook?

"What?!" he questioned, standing up from his chair in disbelief. Jungkook's eyes met his, also a bit wide as he looked up at him. "Woah— Interested? Hold on." He sat back in his chair and leaned closer, over his desk to get a good look at Jungkook. Jungkook became shy again, covering his reddening cheeks. "Am I hearing this right? Did you just— You- That was supposed to be a date? Is that what Yoongi was meant to tell me?"

Jungkook bent over, covering his entire face in his hands. "Ah, don't embarrass me. I thought you knew that!"

   Holy shit.

"If I knew, I never would've bought chips and salsa or played Mario Kart! Oh my gosh, did I date Jeon Jungkook?"

The crowd laughed and cheered as Jungkook sat back up, shaking his hands out in front of him in alarm. "N-No, we didn't date! Don't worry about that." Seokjin's only thought was about the fact that Jungkook believed it was going to be a date to begin with. Jungkook was interested and Seokjin completely blew it because of a miscommunication error. "Come on, edit this out. You don't have to worry about any of that. Let's talk about Euphoria, yeah?"

Jungkook looked like he was shy and Seokjin was too, but he was more flustered than anything.

"Okay, okay." He sat up straighter in his chair. Jungkook followed, clearing his throat and fixing the creases in his shirt. "So, Jungkook-ssi, Euphoria has hit pretty big ever since it came out. Is it a love song? Hm? Did you have a special someone in mind when you wrote it?"

The fans yelled You, you! and so Jungkook covered his cheeks again, "No~!" But he was so blushy and cute every time he got so flustered. And Seokjin couldn't help but snicker along at the thought of the song being about him— he knew it wasn't. "No, I swear it wasn't about you, Seokjin-ssi. It can be a love song, sure, but I didn't write it with anyone in mind. Just my friends and family, maybe. But no lover."

   No lover.

Sometimes Seokjin does things without thinking.

He probably shouldn't provoke such things on a live-audience show and he'd never experienced such a rush before, but he let it get to him. He let the rush and the pretty blushing singer's smile get to him.

"Jungkook-ssi, if you wanted a date, you could've just asked me."

The younger bent over towards the armchair and hid his face into it before Seokjin could even see a reaction. "What kind of interview is this!" The fans laughed at his embarrassment. Eventually, Seokjin cleared his throat, ready to fix the mess he'd made— they'd made.

"Okay, okay. We'll cut this out of the show and start here. So, Jungkook-ssi—" Jungkook sat back up, his face a bit red and eyes zoned in on the floor— "Euphoria has broken record after record. As one of Korea's top solo artists, how does it feel to consecutively put out hits like this? Every year, you're topping the charts. How does it feel?"

Jungkook nodded as he spoke. "I really appreciate everything I've been given. It's because of the fans that I've been able to do it—" the fans cheered in the audience— "Yoongi hyung is a really nice friend to work with as well. It's very easy to work on songs and he's always giving his all, just as much as I am, so I think that all the hard work given by the staff, my fans, and myself as well has guided us here. I'm very thankful."

"Ah, yes, Yoongi is really talented and nice. So are you. You sing like an angel. I'm sure he's told you that a lot, huh?" Jungkook nodded, smiling.

"He sure sucked at being a wingman, though."

Seokjin rested his face in his palm, weakly laughing at the singer's words— very true words, though. "That guy made me lose a date with you. I'll never forgive him."

"Oh... Would you have been willing to date me?" Their eyes met at Jungkook's question. Jungkook's eyes were soft, a bit curious. The room was silent in await as Seokjin processed the question. "You just seem so... You know..."

"Regretful?" Seokjin offered. "Anyone would regret not successfully going on a date with Jeon Jungkook! Is that even a question?!"

The fans cheered in agreement, probably the most ever wanting people to earn a chance to go on a date with Jungkook. They would understand him. Jungkook however looked back with wide eyes and raised eyebrows, like he was confused or something— confused as to why anyone would regret missing out on a date with him. He's crazy to not understand, though.

Seokjin stood up again, loudly asserting, "You wanted a date with me— Jeon Jungkook, the most adorable and most incredibly talented singer— and I completely ruined it! Of course I regret it! Who wouldn't, seriously!"

Jungkook was grinning up at him, shining his pretty teeth and cheeky smile. Seokjin sat back down with a huff, the audience smiling and laughing as well at his argument.

"Of course, I'd regret it," he said once more. Jungkook needed to know.

  "Then..."

  "Then..? Then what, Jungkook-ssi?"

Embarrassed, the younger shook his head and fell back into his seat again. "Edit this out and let's continue, yeah? Should we? Can we?"

It most likely wouldn't be edited out, Seokjin knew, but he still nodded and agreed. "Okay then." The audience gave more disappointed groans, but they ignored them— well, not really. "Okay. Moving on. So then, Jungkook, I think we all want to know; I heard you're working on an album here recently. Could you tell us some about that or..?"

Jungkook pursed his lips and nodded. He seemed zoned out again and the room had finally calmed down, the rush of adrenaline and their snickering at the two hopeless men faded off.

  "Of course I can."

——

The interview had gone on without the mention of any sort of dating again. Seokjin had already embarrassed himself enough and he needed to get on with the interview part, which is what everyone there and at home was watching for— not for a cringe memory fest; a damn mess.

It went well other than the beginning part, but Seokjin was sort of afraid that it'd be the real last time he gets to speak to Jungkook. He wished he had gotten with him and apologized or something for the mess he'd initiated.

He didn't have to worry too long at all.

The next hour after Jungkook's interview had gone on air, Seokjin had gotten tagged on Twitter— not that he was waiting on his phone or anything— but he had gotten a tweet from Jungkook's official account. It was so simple, yet affective to Seokjin: i'm still waiting for a redo on that date btw :)

Seokjin, a fully grown man, acted like a teenage girl with a crush as he read that tweet. His cheeks and ears heated and tingled, turning red, and the huge smile on his face couldn't be wiped off even if he tried to force it away. He covered his smile from all the staff members— he was at work, his talk show being a late-night type of thing which also happened to be the time his show aired daily. He had to hide his blush from everyone.

Quickly, he replied to the tweet: Anytime. Don't you think it's time Yoongi learns how to be a true wingman? ;)

He left it at that simply because he had to go back to work, but something about the rush to his cheeks and to his heart had him feeling ten times better than he usually did. After nearly two years of being a single man, the rush felt like something he really needed. Seokjin needed that type of push.

  It felt pretty damn good.

——

Yoongi must've finally been doing some research on how to be a good wingman. It wasn't even a week later that Seokjin had gotten a good luck message from the producer, which was soon followed by an unknown number's message. He knew exactly where this was heading and he was excited now more than ever.

Jungkook actually went through with it again.

[Unknown]

- seokjin-ssi?

-it's jungkook :)

Seokjin never expected to actually get a message from the singer, especially not after a few days had passed by. Then again, he figured Jungkook was busy and had now finally gotten the time to text him, or maybe he wasn't busy at all and he hadn't seen Yoongi yet to ask for Seokjin's number, or maybe he had been building up the courage to ask for such a thing.

Seokjin had to build up a bit of courage to reply back.

——

Seokjin had to wait another week for this redo-date.

Jungkook had first texted him during the weekend and they had eventually planned for Jungkook to come over the next weekend for this date.

Seokjin planned things a bit better this time. He made sure to have lots of different snacks for Jungkook to choose from, made sure he had a new outfit just enough to look casual but not too laid back or lazy, and he bought groceries to make a homemade meal for the singer— he reckoned Jungkook didn't get to have homemade meals too often, being a busy artist— and he had even asked Jungkook to choose a movie and a few games that they could enjoy and pass time with. They'd planned to spend a whole day together.

  They were both excited.

Opening the door to his apartment upon hearing a knock at it, the two celebrities smiled big at each other just like they'd done many times during their interview. The memories of that chaotic day must've hit them upon seeing each other again.

  "Hyung. You look nice."

Seokjin wore a white t-shirt with a black cardigan and dark jeans— not an old t-shirt and sweatpants. But Jungkook wore a nice matching set of clothes, all black; a black shirt, black bomber jacket, black jeans, black boots fastened tight around his ankles, and it all fit so well with his dark hair and dark chocolatey eyes. He looked damn good.

"Jungkook-ah," Seokjin gulped as he opened the door to invite the younger in. Jungkook immediately began to untie his boots and slip them off, ready to get comfortable. "You look freaking incredible, Jungkook."

The younger smiled to himself. "Ah, this is just what I normally wear. Stop being so nice to me, hyung."

His hair was perfectly framed around his face and as their eyes met, with the singer's brown eyes shining up at him, Seokjin felt like it must've been a sin to look so good every day like that.

Without another word said in the doorway, Seokjin held his hand out for his and soon led his guest— date— towards the kitchen hand-in-hand and showed him where he'd been preparing a nice lunch for them. They'd agreed on having a big lunch and snacking on things as they went on with the evening. Jungkook was easy to please despite openly butchering Seokjin's dating ability on air a few weeks ago.

He was delighted to have such a nice meal cooked by Seokjin and he hummed, furrowing his eyebrows every time he'd taste something good. Seokjin thought it was adorable, the way he reacted. Within thirty minutes of their little date, the atmosphere was already thirty times more comfortable and easier than the first time they'd met.

  Damn communication errors .

"Are you ready to get beat in some games, hyung?"

Seokjin's lips parted, unbelieving of Jungkook's sudden words. "No way. I'll definitely be the one beating you," he muttered as he stood up, leading the way to the living room, where he'd set up everything to watch the action movie Jungkook chose and to play games on his console through the living room TV— he was prepared.

He wasn't so prepared for Jungkook to be so good at playing video games, though. Knowing he's such a busy singer, he wasn't expecting Jungkook's skills to be so intense like he'd been preparing for this moment for years and it was finally here. He beat Seokjin in over half the games or rounds they played within those games.

After a few hours of laughing and teasing each other while playing, Jungkook sipped his iced tea, then smiled up at him "Hyung," he called out to the man next to him, still beaming with his grin. "If I win this next round, you owe me something."

  "Owe you something? Like what?"

The younger was cheeky as he looked down at his gaming controller. "If I win, you have to give me a kiss." His head was hanging a bit low, but his eyes gazed right up at him, looking a bit shy despite his bold offer. "Is that fair, hyung?"

  Seokjin nodded. "Sure. Definitely."

The moment the game started, Seokjin hardly tried to win at all. They were playing a racing game, which they were both good at, but he deliberately went slow and kept pushing his character out of the track to lose on purpose. As Jungkook went through the finish line, both of them turned to each other, Jungkook with the cheekiest grin and his eyes scrunched up, pure joy in his expression.

  "Oops, guess I lost."

"Oh, too bad." Jungkook sat up straighter, pressing his palms into his knees, which were pressed together close. "I won. Waiting, hyung."

Seokjin leaned forward and even though Jungkook's eyes closed just in time, Seokjin skipped out on the younger's lips. He pressed his lips to Jungkook's cheek and left a quick peck there. As he backed away, Jungkook's eyes opened and his lips parted, ready to complain, but Seokjin told him You said just a kiss. Didn't say where, to which Jungkook huffed and pouted at.

After a bit more teasing, they finally decided on ending the night by watching the movie Jungkook had chosen.

The movie was the least of Seokjin's concerns after a while.

He and Jungkook rested against the couch together, sharing a bag of gummies and a fuzzy blanket. The lights were out and the movie softened them down a bit, cozy together. It especially had Jungkook focused and calm, chewing on the gummies and having his wide eyes set on the screen.

  Cute.

Seokjin pulled the blanket up closer to his chest and slowly slid his head towards Jungkook's shoulder, to which the younger gently rested his own head against his. It was comforting to have someone there with him. Comforting to find joy in someone else's existence. His last relationship wasn't as fun as this— in fact, he'd gotten divorced a while back and it was because their fire was never really there like Seokjin wanted.

  Seokjin wanted this.

He wanted teasing, playing, cuddling— he liked the way Jungkook was with him. It hardly felt difficult at all with him. It came easily, the way they clicked— although, it wasn't like this the first time they'd met, but that was only because Seokjin didn't know Jungkook's intention to want to meet him, but now he knew and now he could fully give Jungkook what he wanted. He could easily do this again and again, too.

As he was busy thinking, zoned out, he suddenly felt Jungkook's head shift and the lightest peck settle on his hair.

He lifted his head from Jungkook's shoulder and their eyes met as he turned to see him. His breath hitched as he noticed the only mere inches away he was from Jungkook's face. Heart racing, his eyes falling to Jungkook's lips— Jungkook was the one to speak up, "Will you kiss me now, hyung?"

Seokjin huffed out a small laugh, earning a smile from the younger as well. After the teasing from earlier, he sort of regretted not actually kissing Jungkook then. And so, he nodded in agreement to his question. Though he was extremely eager for the kiss, his nod was slow and cool.

"Sure," he muttered, "but if I kiss you, you'll owe me something in return."

Confused, Jungkook's head tilted. So cute . "I'll owe you what?"

The corners of Seokjin's lips turned upwards. "Another date."

It was Jungkook's turn to let out a short laugh. Instead of answering Seokjin, he merely raised his hands to the older's jaw, cupping his cheeks as he pulled him in. His eyes fluttered closed as Jungkook's lips met his, soothing as their lips softened into each other. Jungkook's lips were incredibly soft and he kissed gently, simply letting their lips meet and nothing else.

   He's so damn cute.

Seokjin soon pulled him closer by his shirt, clenching hard onto the cloth fabric as he deepened their kiss, meshing the bottom of Jungkook's lips in between his and sucking a bit. Before he got too into it, he pulled back and released the clothes between his fingers.

"I'll look forward to our next date, Jungkook-ah."

Jungkook's eyes slowly reopened and his tongue darted out over his lips as their eyes met again. "I- I never even thought we'd go on a real date, so however many dates you want, hyung. I want them all," he let out.

Satisfied, Seokjin smiled. "I had no clue you wanted to date in the first place."

"You're very handsome," Jungkook blurted out, then giggled a bit to himself. His giggle was possibly the cutest thing Seokjin had ever heard— and he was not exaggerating. He'd thought about that all night long.

"You're very adorable." He held his hand out to Jungkook, to which he was quick to intertwine their fingers. Jungkook's hand was warm and so nice to hold. "Well, how about we go to a nice restaurant next time? Sound good?"

Jungkook nodded. "Anywhere you take me or anything we do, I'm sure it'll be the best date, hyung. I'm sure of it."
