CHAPTER 44
.Arhaan POV
The guilt sits not on my chest but inside my brain. What we had done, I could not un-do. I can make amends in subtle ways, but the admission of unseeing my Sister's suffering is torturous.
"I think we should stay behind, it is your family matter," Paakhi exclaims nervously.
I look at her through my rear mirror and answer, "Aren't you guys family?"
"Uff Arhaan not like that, not before you ask Uncle Abby for Maanu's hand though." I hear a snicker in her voice. I know she is trying to relax my raging mind but nothing will help other than hitting that dipshit.
"Arhaan please, we are not telling you what to do but don't repeat your mistake of not listening to what Sana has to say. First, understand everything and then react. Promise?" Paakhi rationalizes, just as I park my car.
I nod and exit the car. Just as I step out,
"Why the hell did you lie to me? " I hear Viren groaning walking towards me.
"Thankfully before entering, I got to know those two are insides." He rants.
"Sana and Saurav are inside?" I ask him but his attention shifts to someone behind me.
"What the hell Arhaan? What are you trying to do here?!" He silently growls.
"You will get over yourself but what is about to happen is more important." I declare and rush inside.
I hear footsteps behind me but my focus is on one person only.
"Saurav!"
"Saurav, where are you?" I holler.
Everyone halt instantly and step aside, probably surprised by my behaviour.
"Arhaan? What happened? " mom stops me and asks.
"You will know, but tell me where is Saurav?" I ask her.
She nods slightly with the worry in her eyes as clear as daylight, "you know they cannot be in this part of the house. So they might be at the east side, near Palak's room." She informs.
I rush past everyone towards the east of the house,
"Viren what is wrong? I'm scared." I hear mom ask Viren.
"I don't know mom, let's find out." He says and walks beside her.
I enter the foyer where Aunt Palak, Sana and Saurav are having a cup of tea.
"You bastard, how dare you?!" I pull him up by his collar and implore him.
His eyes widen for a second in confusion, but when he looks past me, his eyes show recognition.
"Arhaan? What are you doing?" I hear aunt Palak screech.
Instead of replying to her, I pull my arm back ready to punch this dipshit, but I'm being dragged back by a pair of strong arms.
"What the hell is happening here?" Voice of my father holler.
I notice the arms around me belong to my father's most loyal guard.
I push him and straighten up my suit jacket.
"I don't know? One second I'm having tea with my lovely wife and mother in law and the next second Arhaan attacks me?" he mutters innocently.
Seeing his facade my anger increase ten folds.
"Really? You don't know anything? Then how about I make you remember? But first, let me make amends for my doing..." I exclaim.
I walk towards Sana and join my hands in front of her, "Please forgive me, I'm sorry. I never realized you were suffering, what kind of brother am I?" I see her eyes widen in fear. She looks at Saurav and then again at me.
"What are you doing Arhaan? Can someone please tell me what is happening?" Dad implore.
"This man has been torturing our sister from last, I don't know how many years?" Everyone gasp, For a second there is pin-drop silence in the room.
It is broken by a resonance of a slap, for a second I'm stunned, but the burning sensation on my left cheek verifies that my mom just slapped me.
"Are you ill Arhaan? What is wrong with you? Why are you behaving like this? I know you and your brothers don't like him but stop blaming him." She scolds.
"Mom, I'm not lying, can't you see how much Sana has changed after her marriage. Our bubbly little sister is now a silent someone. She is not our sister. Aunt Palak? Didn't you feel something changed? She became silent, she is most of the time lost in her thoughts..." I ask everyone.
No one utters a word. I see a smile on Saurav's face challenging me. This sick man thinks this is a joke.
I don't feel anger for him instead I feel disgusted.
"Every girl change after marriage, she becomes a woman after marriage. She has to let go of her childish acts." Aunt Palak chides.
I look at Sana, "Sis, say something, please. Just one word, your brothers will do anything for you. Please." I beg of her.
She looks hesitant. It looks like her eyes are begging me to stop.
I look at her helpless, Incapable of thinking anything else.
"Sana Di, please. Is Arhaan bhai right? Are you happy in your marriage?" I hear Shaurya asking her.
He takes a hold of her hand.
Sana look at us both, her lips quiver and her eyes hold back her tears.
"I'm happy, he loves me. " she let out.
I sense a feeling of terror and dread course through me.
"Yes baby, I love you," Saurav whispers walking towards her and holding her.
"I'm so sorry Saurav beta (son), Please forgive my children." Mom begs him.
Seeing my mother pleading in front of this bastard, my blood boil.
I prepare myself to disappear from here when I hear something that brought up a ray of hope.
"Wait! Saurav Jiju (brother-in-law) can you please explain how Sana Di gets injury so often. And why don't you let me visit her ?" Riya voice out.
At this moment, I realize everyone is in the room.
Viren is standing at the far corner of the room. His eyes accessing everything but his face shows nothing.
My dad and Uncle standing behind the couch.
Riya standing behind me and behind her near the entry door are Maanya, Paakhi and Aditi? Aditi is also here!
"Riya?! Stop this instant." Aunt Palak chides, making me look at her.
But determination in Riya's eyes made Saurav uneasy.
"Umm.." He looks stressed.
Knowing every eye in this room is on him, he has to answer.
"She is a clutz," he chuckles.
Seeing no one else laughs he further explains, " your Sister tends to slip while working in the kitchen, I have cautioned her many times but she never listens." He mumbles looking lovingly at Sana.
"And about why I don't let you visit her, that is because after you leave she gets upset. And seeing my wife upset makes me upset." He confesses.
"Just look at this, how much he loves our Sana." Aunt Palak coo.
I look dejectedly at Viren.
"You don't believe me either?"
He looks at me and then at Paakhi. He nods his head in her direction and she nods back. I look confusingly towards them. Not understanding their actions.
Viren walks ahead and towards Sana, everyone in the room looks surprised. Maybe because Viren hates talking or even looking at Sana.
He walks forward and with a swift moment, place a hand on Saurav's chest and push him away from her. Saurav stumbles backward.
"I will ask you once and if your decision remains the same, I promise no one will ever disturb you." He utter looking directly into her eyes.
I watch Sana unable to hold back her tears, they gush down one by one, dousing her face.
"Did you ever saw Dad, Uncle Dev or Uncle Ravi ever hurting their wives? Not physically only, mentally too?" He asks her.
I see Sana thinking,
"Bhai..." She looks at Saurav and then at Viren. He nods encouragingly at her but Saurav may saw that too, so he distracted everyone in the room...
"What is wrong with you people? This is it! I can't take you guys insulting me further. I have had enough. Mother in law, thank you for inviting me to insult me in front of everyone. And those outsiders too." He yells rendering our attention to himself. I see Sana flinch at his tone. An emotion of fear passes through her eyes.
Everyone glances at the girls standing behind me. I can feel their nervousness from here.
They look around nervously.
"Ms. Paakhi, Ms.Maanya and Ms.-" Dad proclaim, forgetting Aditi's name.
"Aditi!" Shaurya exclaim.
Dad glares at him and then looks again towards the girls.
"And Ms.Aditi, can I know your intention behind this visit?" He asks rather rudely.
"I brought them here," I announced noticing they are embarrassed.
Dad glances at me perplexed, but before he could utter a word, I hear that Bastard exclaim!
"So that slut warmed your bed too? Huh?"
Everyone in the room looks shocked, hearing his words.
"What the hell are you saying?" I yell outrageously.
"Oh so you don't know anything about these girls, do you?" I see him smile excitedly, something feels different looking at him. A second before he was sad and embarrassed but now looking at him you can see his eyes shining with insanity.
Maybe I'm not only the one noticing that because I see Shaurya and Viren standing beside me, in front of girls, as if forming a barrier in front of them.
"Oh look, so much protectiveness but for whom?" He taunts.
"Stay away from these girls, they didn't do anything wrong to you," I warn,
"Why Arhaan? Are you dating anyone of them? Or all three of them?" He starts laughing menacingly.
"Saurav! What are you saying?" mom asks him perplexed.
"Aunty Tanvi, Do you know who these girls are actually? The one you guys admire so much?" He proclaims.
"Saurav, what do you mean?" Dad demands him.
"Do you guys know that this oh so courteous woman is a stripper!" He announces looking at Paakhi.
" And this elegant, simple girl here was raped by her fiance and our feisty little girl here is a criminal." He exclaims glancing at Maanya and Aditi.
I see both Viren and Shaurya looking startled. Wondering if I know this or not.
I nod my head towards them inferring I know this. But how the hell did he get this information.
"You seem to know a lot about us! But your information is not complete. Let me tell you." Paakhi exclaim.
"Everyone has past, some have comfortable ones and some have struggled in theirs.
I was born in a family who didn't want a girl, I was blessed because I was granted to live. They left me in an orphanage. I was raised there, not lucky enough to be adopted in my 16 years of life. I survived each day, some days I was bullied for being a silent girl. Those days I would hide in a cupboard away from everyone. I use to spend days there without food or water afraid of being hurt.
One night, Bulling got to an extent where three guys bet to hurt me because they saw our caretakers sleeping together. So they wanted to try that with someone. So who else other than silent Paakhi?
That night they came to me and started dirty talking, I knew I had to leave at that moment or they will hurt me. So when they started taking their clothes off, I threw everything besides my bed on them and ran off. I saw a window open and jumped off. Luckily, It was only on the first floor so I just scraped my knee.
I ran from there, roaming the deserted alleys at midnight. In my 16 years, I was never allowed to leave the orphanage grounds. So I didn't know anything or anyone. I was a helpless child afraid of everything. I heard many times that at night people hurt girls. So I decided to hide till morning.
I saw a dumpster and besides that was a torn couch and some carton box. I decided to hide behind them.
I don't how but I dozed off, I was woken up by a smell of tea and sandwiches. I peek through my makeshift barrier and saw I'm in front of a restaurant. I have always seen how people get to eat deliciously warm food of their choice here. At the site of the food, my stomach growled making me realize I haven't eaten anything. The last meal was yesterday's breakfast.
Still scared, I decided to just hide behind those cartons. Where I feel safer than at the orphanage. But my safe place was short-lived, I saw people taking stuff out of that alley, realizing they are cleaning it, I was about to slip past them but one of them caught me and started scolding me. He was about to hit me when a guy in his forties stopped him. He was my angel, a Godsend angel.
One look at his smiley face, I felt safe. He took me inside the restaurant and cooked me a meal. During that, he asked me everything and said I can stay with him.
For a few weeks, everything was good. I was happy. We were a family. But one day I saw him tensed, I got to know that our business is at loss. He might lose everything. So to help him out, I searched for many jobs but didn't get any. I tried everything from washing dishes to cleaning toilets but the money I earn was nothing, but one day I heard a customer telling a girl a way of earning a lot of money instantly. After he exited the cafe, I followed him and asked him for a job. He told me that I have to dance in front of people and I can earn money. The naive me didn't realize that dancing with Rags is different from dancing in front of other people, I accepted his offer instantly.
He gave me an address. I made an excuse to others and left for that address.
There I saw many girls dressed in short dresses, heavy makeup. I was escorted backstage and there I changed into a short pink dress and one of the girls painted my face.
I stood in a line and peeked through the curtains, there I saw girls taking off their clothes. I got instantly nervous. But the money in my purse made me stuck to my spot. I have to help the man who helped me in my worst.
As I stepped up the stage, everyone started hollering. I got some disgusting remarks from here and there. But before I could think anything I was yanked back and down the stage. I see a hand clasped onto mine, tight.
I looked up to see Rags dragging me out. At the gate, the guard pulled my purse from me.
That day I got a father figure in my life. One second he shouted at me and the other second he pampered me just like a father.
So ya, this is the story about me being a stripper. And I'm not ashamed of that because that day I earned a father." My admiration for this strong woman rose. Hearing her story, I feel a sense of pride, pride because I met these girls.
"Wow, what a sobbing story. My eyes can't stop watering." Saurav taunts.
"You girls are such great actresses. You portrayed your story as a sad dramatic tale. Stop fooling people without your act." He further affronts.
"Shut up before I beat you." Shaurya declares looking straight into his eyes.
"No, let him say this, let everyone realize what type of man he is. " Paakhi declare.
"The type who will let everyone know your truth. How you lure wealthy men and take their money." He chides.
"Like you? Huh?" Viren proclaims. Saurav looks at him stunned.
"I have a loving wife. I don't need other women." Saurav clarifies.
"Then what about this? Can you explain what this is?" Viren calls out, playing a video on his phone.
Saurav looks frightened for a second. I grab the phone and see a video of Saurav hugging a girl in a hotel lobby.
They seem to be too close.
I pass around the phone and when My uncle sees it he stomps towards Saurav and punches him.
"You bastard, you are cheating on my daughter. How dare you?" Uncle ramble.
"Dev!" Aunty steps forward and tugs uncle back.
"This proves nothing, She is my cousin. I hugged her when she came to visit me. So what?" he declares.
"We are not nitwits, we know what kind of hug this is," Shaurya exclaims.
"This is it, we are leaving. " Saurav calls out and walks towards the door.
"Sana is not going anywhere. She is staying here with her family. And our lawyers will contact you." My dad declares.
I feel relieved. Happy my sister is home, back and safe.
"Really? I don't think so! Ran a come!" He demands.
We all look at Sana, but what she did next made me cry outrageously.
She took a step towards him, ignoring Uncle and Aunty's plea.
"See you guys." He smiles triumphantly and walks away.
Before Sana could exit the room, Paakhi held her back and said, " I didn't share my story to prove anything. But to let you know that we all make decisions in life, thinking they are for the best. But when those decisions strangle the life out of you. It is best to let go. I found a reason to live in form of Rags. Find yours. Look at these people standing for you. Always share your worries, who knows you might get a solution.
And we are always there to talk. We all have our journeys. But those made us strong." She whispered and let her go.
Sana walked off, leaving silence and dread behind her. Each one of us reckoning what just happened.
I see Paakhi, Maanya and Aditi, slip unnoticed.
"Get my daughter back, how can I not see her sufferings?" Aunty sob in Riya's arms.
I see both mom and Riya, tending to Aunty.
Uncle and Dad, step out of the room, probably to his office.
I see Viren sauntering out of the room and follow him.
"How did you get the video recording?" I ask one thing that has been bugging me.
"When you and everyone else was looking at Saurav. Paakhi walked towards me and asked me if I can get a CCTV recording from our date, She told me the time and place. I messaged Vikram and when I received a recording I showed everyone." He explains.
I noticed we reached our terrace. One thing about Viren is his obsession with terraces. His favourite place is a terrace.
"You guys went on a date?" I ask amusingly.
"Not that kinda date, just a small dinner." He mutters nonchalantly.
"You never take anyone on dinner? We're you interested in her from the start?" I ask realizing my brother is deeper in his feelings than he depicts.
"When I first saw her at the roadside, helping a small girl, I felt an emotion course through me. I don't know what it was, but it made me angry at that girl for making me feel. When we again met at Pari:s birthday party and we had that scene, I felt delighted. So to know what I was feeling I took her to dinner. There I was my arrogant self and upset her. When she started crying, I felt kicking myself. She affects me in a way, I never was before."
Hearing him out, this much is confirmed that my brother is in love. I can't be happier than knowing that Paakhi makes him happy.
"But none of it matters, I'm not made for love, and I can't destroy her happiness by pursuing her. So no more discussion on this matter. You too!" Viren point at Shaurya.
"But I ship you guys." Shaurya whine.
"Are you a girl? " Viren asks bearing his whining.
I laugh at them both.
"By the way, I saw someone today. And he is meeting with the girls." I shortly let out when I remember the incident from today afternoon.
"Who?" Viren and Shaurya ask simultaneously, forgetting their bickering.
"Yash! I saw him exiting their building today. He didn't see me, but I saw him. And the main point is, he is working with the girls. What I infer from Maanya is, he is pursuing Paakhi." I see anger seek through Viren's face. His eyes twitch and his fingers curl in forming a tight fist.
"Is he taking Paakhi on a date?" Shaurya intervene.
Both of us look at him, waiting for him to explain further.
"Today, around 4, I heard Aditi murmuring, that Paakhi is going on a date." He comprehends.
"Why do you and Aditi spend so much time together?" I ask curiously.
"Because we have great sex together. And both of us do it for fun, no feelings attach." He exclaims excitedly.
I shrug at him and his playboy ways.
"When is this date?" I hear Viren ask him.
"Why? It doesn't matter. " I proclaim. Knowing very well what is going on in his mind.
"I want to see if she is happy with him or not. If he treats her nicely or not." He explains. But why do I feel like he is not just going to do this?
"I don't know, " Shaurya shrug.
"Hmm...you will find out about it," he orders me.
I shake my head but when he says he will tell mom about Maanya, I have to agree with him.
"And now I need a girl." He utter.
"Why?"I ask curiously.
" Need a date to go with." He tells in a duh tone.
"To go where?" I ask agitatedly.
"To the restaurant where Paakhi will be going." He tells with a devious smile on his face.
"I don't even want to know what is going in your head." I voice out and take a seat.
Viren smiles and sits beside me.
"Ask the kitchen staff to bring me a coffee, please," I ask Shaurya. He nods and picks up the intercom and calls the kitchen.
"I feel sad about Sana. " I voice out.
Both Shaurya and Arhaan nod their head.
"We tried everything..." Shaurya blurts sadly.
"We can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped. We tried, now it's her turn to stand fir herself." Viren asserts.
"After meeting Paakhi, you started talking deep stuff," Shaurya confesses earning a whack from Viren.
He is right, we did everything. Now she has to stand for herself.

Paakhi POV
"I feel bad for Sana." Aditi's voice cone from beside me.
"Me too, but what else we could do?" Maanya utters from my other side.
"Hmm...Paakhi even told her about her past, she still didn't utter a word." They talk among themselves.
"Are you okay?" I feel a hand caressing my own. I look up to see Maanya looking at me.
"Yeah just recalling some memories. I miss him." I confess.
"Me too." Maanya and Aditi utter simultaneously.
I feel arms drape around me. And heads lean on my either shoulder.
I place a small kiss on their heads and thank god for sending these girls into my life.
"I feel sleepy and hungry, " Aditi whine.
"Aww...you would be, how was the event though?" I ask her.
"I will tell you everything but first I need fuel in my body." She answers and sits straight.
She leans forward and whispers something to the cab driver.
"What did you tell him?" I ask her when she occupies her previous position.
"You will see." She answers and closes her eyes.
I look at Maanya to see her looking in deep thoughts.
"What is it?!" I ask her.
She draws back and slowly shakes her head.
"Tell me..." I pry, knowing fully well if she won't share it with me, a headache will commence.
"Now Arhaan's family don't like me. What if it affects our relationship?" I hear the sadness in her voice.
"Arhaan loves you, he is not the kind of man who will leave you just because his family said so. He is a very persuasive man, he will find a way. Don't worry about it. " I assure her.
For a few seconds, she thinks about it and nods.
I smile an assuring smile in her direction and she returns it.
At the same instant, her phone buzz, she pulls it out of her bag and the smile that lit up her face depicts whose message it is.
I smile seeing her smile and leave her to talk to her man.
Seeing her happy, my mind instantly recalls that devil who is ignoring me for no reason.
I don't know why I care so much, I mean it is not we were dating each other. We were just friends.
But you don't ditch your friend like this!
Today, I thought he will not listen to me when I asked him to get the CCTV footage from the restaurant we became friends.
But when he instantly nodded his head, I felt happy.
Strange! Right?
I just miss him rude, arrogant and somewhere hidden cute boy self.
"Are you planning on burning a hole through his head?" I hear a whisper in my best ear.
My attention shift to Aditi smirking at me.
"Haha..very funny" I deadpan.
She laughs at me and starts teasing me about my crime shows obsession.
I mean I like crime shows because they're about scary dark things, and I can watch them and get an adrenaline hit. The best of them is law and order.
She is lucky I didn't hit her because we reached our destination.
I look up to see we are in front of our favourite food truck, the RiceUp, the one I introduced to Viren.
Why am I thinking about him?
"Yesss...I love you, Aditi." Maanya shriek.
I laugh at them both and we see Shyam hopping over to us.
"Paakhi Di, Maanya Di and Adi!" He exclaims happily.
"Look I didn't call you Aditi Di this time." He boosts up in front of her.
"Alright kiddo, the deal is deal, Here, take your favourite chocolate." Aditi groans giving her favourite chocolate to him.
We laugh at them both and after some greetings, we order our usual.
"He is such a happy boy," Maanya comments.
We all agree, I start teasing Aditi about her being getting offended when someone calls her Didi.
"Guys, look there!" Maanya exclaims out of nowhere.
I look at her pointing in our opposite direction.
Recognizing the people on the table, we rush towards them and surprise them.
"It is so good to see you girls here." Aunt Savy confesses, hugging each one of us.
"What are you doing here? Didn't you just called their rice tasteless and challenge that you can make them better?" Aditi charges at Uncle Abby.
He avoids looking into her eyes.
"Answer me!" She demands.
"Okay fine, I liked it, but I didn't want you, girls, to like their cooking more than mine." He confesses, looking down embarrassingly.
Aww...we three jump on him and give him a tight hug.
"No one can ever outstand your cooking, you are the best!!" I declare.
"I know, I was just testing if you guys know this too!" He teases.
We all laugh at him.
"Excuse me, sir," a man at the table behind us calls.
We look at him and he says, "you have a beautiful family, God bless all of you."
We all smile in content when Abby reply to him, "Thank you, you have a beautiful family too. "
The man nods in appreciation and turns back to his family.
"I'm lucky to have four beautiful women in my life." He announces.
"Let's celebrate this with these delicious mouth-watering dishes," Maanya calls out.
We all dive into our plates, scooping some bites from Uncle Abby's plate and him warning us.
We discussed Aditi's event and our cheque we received from our event yesterday. We skipped some details not wanting them to worry about it.
After eating, we decided to walk to the ice cream parlour. And then to our apartments.
My day started as a gloomy one but my family made my day.
My eyes close with a content smile on my face.

The next day, I decided to go to the Cafe and pay some overdue.
Maanya went to the orphanage for some donations, we received a hefty amount from our last event. And decided to share some with the orphanage.
Aditi is on her job, and I'm busy restoring the pantry. When a coworker called me, "Someone is waiting for you, "
"Who is it? " I ask her curiously, not knowing of anyone visiting me.
"Dunno, seems like a girl, she is wearing these large sunglasses and a scarf that is covering her whole face. " she describes.
I nod at her and pass her my checkboard and exit the pantry.
I pass kitchen staff and exit the kitchen door to look for someone that was just described to me.
"There was this girl looking fir you. " Sasha, another coworker tell me.
"Where is she now?" I ask impatiently.
"In the garden," she informs and walks away.
I exit the café and step into the gardens to see someone occupying the bench in front of rose bushes.
"Umm...Hi?" I ask nervously.
The girl looks towards me.
I see the scarf now just drape around her shoulders carelessly. And her eyes swollen from crying.
"Sana?!" I ask surprisingly.
She nods consciously.
"I...I'm sorry, I- didn't know where else to go." Her voice quiver.
Tears start pouring down her face.
I rush forward and instantly hug her.
She cries on my shoulder, blubbering things such as, "I left him...He didn't even stop me. I loved him to the extent that it destroyed me. I left my family, my brothers for him..."
"Shhh...it's okay, you are strong to do this Sana. We are with you. Your family is with you."
I try convincing her.
"I can't go to them, I can't face them right now. Please Paakhi... Please..."
She starts hyperventilating.
Seeing her lose her senses, "Okay, okay, relax. You don't have to do anything you don't want to. You can come to our house?"I suggest.
"No, you did enough for me, I can't ask this much from you." She whimper.
"No please, girls would love to have you. We won't pry promise. No more talking, you can rest there. Please! " I ask her.
She thinks for a second but then nods her head.
"Good, wait for me. I'll grab my bag and we can go." I announce and rush inside the cafe.
"Nona!! I have to leave right now. I'll finish my work later." I proclaim stuffing my stuff back into my bag.
"Okay? But who is that girl in the garden? Is she okay?" Aunt Savy inquire.
"Long story, will inform you later." I declare and rush out of the doors.
On my way out, I grab a water bottle from the counter and offer it to Sana.
She accepts it with a smile, I can see the stress and worry clear on her face. Her beautiful face is covered with tears stains and swollen eyes.
"This way, "I escort her.
We take an auto to our apartment, though it is close to the café but observing Sana, I know she is exhausted.
I fetch her to our apartment and unlock the door for her.
I enter first and instantly halt when I see who is inside our house.
" I'm sorry, I didn't know he was here!" I instantly apologize to her.
"Sana!" Arhaan proclaims and rushes towards her.
I see her flinch and take a step back.
So I immediately stand in front of her and nudge him back.
"What the hell! Leave me Paakhi." He shouts at me.
"Please Arhaan, wait. I will tell you everything but please want here." I request.
He opens his mouth but instantly shut it when Maanya hauls him back.
I nod at her and Tug Sana to my room.
"I'm sorry for that, Don't worry he will not disturb you. This is my room, it is small, but the bed is comfortable. " I chuckle nervously.
"And this is some fresh clothes, we don't have a washroom inside the rooms, but you can use the one just down the hall. Or you can change here. I will get you some tea and a painkiller. " I say drawing the curtains and making the room more organized.
"Painkiller?" She asks oddly.
"Ya for your headache. I saw you massaging your head a few times." I clarify when I see her confused face.
"Thank you so much for doing this. I don't know what I would have done." She mutters sadly.
"Hey, no more thinking. Today you stood up for yourself. This seems unusual because it is new for you. But you will realize soon that this is the right decision." I assure her and leave the room.
"Now tell me why can I not been my sister?" Is the first thing I hear when I reach the living room.
I don't stop there instead, walk to the and grab the pan for making tea.
"She came to me in the café. She was crying a lot. Said she left him." I answer his question when he comes and stands in front of me.
"Really? She left him!" He exclaims happily.
"Yes, but she is still not ready to accept that. She is still coping. Gove her some time, please." I plead.
Arhaan nods in understanding.
"Thank you for looking after her. And I promise we will not pressure her," he confesses and leaves the apartment after kissing Maanya.
"Sorry, I didn't know..." Maanu try.
"No problem, but just remember to not implore her, be as calm as you can be and grab me some sandwiches." I proclaim.
She nods and grabs me some sandwiches from the fridge.
I set the tea on the tray and take it to Sana.
I balance the tray in my hands and knock on the door.
"I got you some tea," I endorse when Sana opened the door.
She looks more relaxed now.
"Drink this and eat them. After that, I'll get you a painkiller." I say.
"I'm not hungry." She whispers.
"It doesn't matter. You have to!" I demand.
She smiles and grabs a sandwich from the plate.
"This view is amazing." She mutters standing at the window.
I walk beside her and shove the cup in her hand.
"I agree. This is the best thing here, Every morning the first thing I do is to look out of here." I gush about it.
I tell her about the wind chimes and the flowers on my window and realize that she ate everything I offered.
I gave her a pill and ordered her to sleep. To my satisfaction, I tugged her in bed and exited the room.
I entered the living room and saw Maanya waiting for me with a hot steaming cup of tea and bowl full of chips sitting on the table.
I heaved a sigh and tucked myself on the couch and commenced explaining everything that just happened.
Some may think that leaving a toxic relationship is the most important but the truth is, leaving those horrific memories and moving on is most important.
