My mind raced at the situation before me. Did Kid really just ask me to be his friend?! I thought desperately at my limited options:



1) Say no and get killed by a maniac


Or


2) Say yes and become friends with a maniac who might end up killing me anyway...



The mini me inside my head started to cry in the depressed corner.




The room was so silent you could hear a pin drop. My body went stiff as I felt six teens stare at me, waiting for my answer.


Well....out of the two options I had found, saying yes was obviously better, but as I remembered Kid's Malice filled eyes the day before, new fear filled my heart. I took in a deep breath.......Calm down Akira......you can do this....




"S-sure..." I finally mumbled, as I managed to put on a small smile.




I heard swords clatter to the ground and a loud thump as Zoro and Sanji fell back in shock. Luffy was staring wide-eyes at me, his half-eaten chunk of meat forgotten on the ground.

Ace immediately started walking towards us, his arms tense, ready to shoot fire, as he glared daggers at Kid. But Kid took no notice in him.




The blood-haired teen was completely still. His arms, which were clothed in a sleek black jacket, hung limply at his side. He blinked at my smile in shock as if he had never seen one.




After a few minutes of silence I noticed one side of his thin lip slowly shift upward. I froze at the sight of his almost lopsided grin, it actually made him look nice.




"AHHH!!" screamed a voice.




Everyone turned their heads at the sound of Luffy's voice. He was standing up, a shaky finger pointed at Kid as his eyes popped out of his head, "KID'S SMILING!!...he yelled in shock."HE'S SMILING!" Then he stared running around the room as if the world was going to end.




The ghost of a smile immediately left Kid's face, replaced with a annoyed scowl as he turned to Luffy. "Straw hat...., "He growled menacingly," I'M GONNA BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF YOU! " Then he lung towards Luffy, his fists scrunched up tightly as metal shards protruded from between each finger.




A flash of green and blonde ran into Kid's charging path with the speed of lighting. *BAM* A long leg stopped one fist and the hilt of a sword blocked the other.



"Luffy may be stupid...." grumbled Zoro as he held the sword firmly, "But he's still our leader..."



"Yeah..." Sanji agreed in a low voice, "If you want to fight him, you'll have to go through us first..." Then he twisted, bring his other foot up towards Kid's exposed neck. Zoro raised a gleaming sword at the same time, aiming for the stomach.


Both attacks would have hit their targets dead on, but then again,.....this was Zoro and Sanji.....




Zoro wicked blade sliced downward, almost cutting Sanji's leg off in the process. I saw a visible "irk" mark appear on Sanji's forehead as he skillfully bent his leg to avoid the sword, " OI ....MARIMO,....YOU TRYING TO KILL ME!" he screamed at Zoro.


Zoro stopped his attack and turned to Sanji," You got in the way Curly Brows.." he growled with irritation.


Sanji's eyes lite up with bright flames , " NO....It's your fault....moss-head!" he sneered back,".....You can't even hold a sword properly!"


A blue flame seemed to light up in Zoro as he placed his third sword in his mouth, " Lousy pervert..." he mumbled through his sword as he faced Sanji." I'll cut you to pieces!"



They started fighting again, and everyone in the room sweat dropped. Ace let out a frustrated sigh as he rubbed his temples. Then he turned to Luffy, " Oi...Luffy," he called,", Why does your gang have two people that hate each other so much?"



Luffy just shrugged before giving a huge smile, " Because it's fun." he replied happily," and because Zoro and Sanji are my friends...."



Before I could question Luffy's sanity, a figure flashed through the air and landed right in front of him. Kid gripped both of Luffy's shoulders tightly. I thought he was going to angrily punch Luffy but instead he gazed at Luffy with confusion. Then his voice spoke in an awkward tone,



" Straw hat..." He said slowly, "What do you do with friends?..." He finally asked.



Luffy seemed unfazed by the strange question and instead tilted his head as he thought hard, " Well..."he murmured, scratching his head,"When Zoro and Sanji aren't fighting we usually play at the arcade and then go eat out...."



The words were barely out of his mouth before Kid had released him and appeared next to me. He easily picked me up with one pale arm and threw me over his shoulder.


" What are you doing!" I shouted, even though I already had a growing suspicion. I squirmed in his grip as I prayed silently that my guess was wrong.


" We're going to the arcade," Kid replied matter-of-factly as he turned towards the exit. I hate it when I'm right.....



" Oh...I want to come too!" cheered Luffy as he jumped towards us.

Don't encourage him Luffy! I thought, but Luffy didn't notice. Instead he stretched out his arms and grabbed Zoro and Sanji by the collar, separating them from their fight, and sending them flying towards him.


*Crash* They all landed together in a heap as Luffy let out a laugh, " Come on you guys." he cheered, " Let's go."



Zoro let out a sigh," Well...I am getting hungry." he muttered as he slowly got up.


Sanji rubbed his head. Then a smile came to his face" Maybe I'll get to see Nami and Robin!" He sang happily as hearts started forming in his eyes, .


Suddenley, Ace stepped in front of us, blocking the door. " Technically, detentions not over," He stated with his arms crossed firmly.


A glimmer of hope filled my heart.



" But......" He added, "If I supervise all of you then they can't get mad at me." A devious smile slowly came onto his face as he spoke.



I let out an angry sigh...was I the only one that didn't want to go?!


Then my head shot up, and I turned towards Law who was still watching the scene casually in his seat. I sent a silent message through my eyes begging him to help me get out of this situation.



Law's eyes glinted as he saw the message, and he nodded, slowly getting up.



" Oi ...."he spoke as he raised a tattooed hand. I felt Kid tense at the motion and Luffy and Ace stare intently at the tan teen


" I'm coming to." He finally said in a even tone. Then he looked directly at me" I think it'll be fun for everyone." He added.


Bastard...


I clenched my teeth and let out a growl, but Law just smirked back at me.



" Yahoo!" cheered Luffy and we all walked out of the detention building.

Well....technically they all walked out of the room, and I was carried out against my will over Kid's shoulder.....


*sigh*


I guess we're going to the Arcade.
