Trust Me
Akira POV
Nami rushed ahead, her feet clanging against the hard floor as she held her rod high above her head. She slashed downward while giving a loud cry, aiming straight for Crocodile's head.
The weapon streaked through the scarred man's face as dry sand spewed out. Crocodile gave a wide smirk and threw his balled up fist into Nami's side, sending her flying to the right.
Her back slammed heavily into the wall, causing the roof to tremble slightly. She groaned as she sat slumped on the ground.
I gritted my teeth, fighting through the pain that was screaming from my own side wound. My arm lifted as I sent a barrage of dark spiked shadows straight at Crocodile.
Even with Nami's distraction, the shadows passed through him like nothing.
Crocodile turned to me when he noticed the attack. His grin widened.
" Now where we're we?" He asked in a cold voice as he took a step closer.
I took a step back, and realized I was up against the wall.
Crocodile held out his gleaming hook, examining the tip with great interest. Then he turned his sickly pale face back up.
" I run a small drug business here." He said in a low voice as he placed his other hand on the base of his hook.
" And the one thing you have to learn in my line of work....is how to dispose of your enemies." He added as he unscrewed the base. Underneath the gold covering was a pitch black hook coated in a purple shine.
" Poison. One scratch and the victim is dead in five seconds." Crocodile muttered as his dark eyes shifted up to my face. " You should feel honored, being the first to test my new weapon."
A shiver crawled down my spine as he took a large step forward, his hook displayed high.
My hand shot out in panic as I forced the shadows along the ground to weave around his legs and stop him.
"Not going to work, Brat." Crocodile spat as his feet detached in a cloud of sand and reformed again.
He was only a meter away now. I could see the indigo gas that seeped from the holes of his hook and smell the dizzying scent that came along with it.
His teeth gleamed brightly in the darkness of the room, as he leaned closer. The spark in his eye showed the sadistic enjoyment that he was currently having.
The world around me began to spin as the sickly smell entered my nose.
I couldn't tell the floor from the ceiling...
I heard Crocodiles footsteps close by, as his image seemed to split and twirl.
Is this really it?
* Step*
Am I actually going to die here?
* Step*
"HAVE FUN IN HELL, BRAT." Crocodile screamed.
I clenched my eyes shut.
"Storm tempo!" Another voice croaked out.
*BAM*
A torrent of waves crashed into Crocodile and smashed him into the wall. I felt the waves slam into me as well. The waves covered me in a blanket of icy cold, drowning me in its embrace.
As the waves seeped away, I coughed out water. My eyes slowly cracked open to find Crocodile lying face down on the floor. His body lay there motionless. The ground around him was covered in drenched sand, colored dark from the weight of the water.
Then I turned my head towards Nami, who sat against the wall, her arm weakly outstretched with the rod still pointed at us.
"How did you...I mean how..? I asked with amazement.
She gave a weak smile. " Water...it's super effective." She huffed out jokingly, her arm wavering as she took in heavy breaths.
I didn't realize it but I was also smiling. My heart felt like it would burst out of my chest at any moment, and a splitting headache had formed that was currently ramming against the sides of my skull. But we were alive. and that was all that mattered.
" Akira..." I heard Nami whispered out.
I gazed up at the orange haired girl who was struggling to support herself.
"I'm....S-sor-" she began between heavy breaths.
But before Nami could apologize fully, her eyelids shut and she fell to her side. She landed on the ground with a heavy thunp.
"Nami!" I called out as I immediately stumble over to her. I shook her shoulder and fumbled around to check her pulse.
It took a few minutes, but there was a faint beat. I let out a sigh of relief. She's alright.
Then I gazed over at her other wounds. The blood immediately caught my eyes. A faint line was trickling from her skull. The visible opening was near the top of her forehead slowly dyed her orange hair bright red.
I cursed in my mind as I forced myself up.
She needs medical help
My legs shuffled stiffly as I focused on reaching the door. My hand gripped my stomach as it contorted in pain. But I continued to ignore it. A cool breeze brushed against my skin as I stepped out into the empty hallway.
Not a single student was in sight.
Where was everyone?
I turned to my right as I noticed a flash of red appear from down the hallway.
And for once I was actually happy to see red.
"KID" I called out, my voice raspy against my throat. "Kid...wait!"
The flame haired delinquent stopped in his tracks. But his back was still to me. He stood rigid still in the middle of the hallway.
"Kid, I need you help." I started saying as I hobbled closer to him. " Listen. Nami's in trouble. We were just attacked by Croco-"
"Shut up." Kid's cold voice interrupted.
I froze in shock. "What?" I asked in almost a whisper.
Silence filled the hallway as I felt a strange tension seething off Kid.
I shook my head. "Kid, stop playing around come on, I need you to-"
*BANG*
My back slammed into the metal locker as I felt a pale hand wrap around my neck. Blood red eyes stared straight at my face.
They widened a bit as they noticed my condition. I probably looked at mess. But then they grew hard again.
" I said, shut up. " Kid growled through his clenched teeth. His grip tightened around my neck as I tried to claw them away.
" Don't you get it Akira?" he asked with venom in his voice. "I don't fucking want to see you anymore."
Then he let go of me. I landed on the ground crouched over and gasping for air.
Kid turned on his heels and walked away.
All I could hear were his footsteps slowly receding.
My mind was empty.
What just happened?
I don't know how long I sat there staring at the marble floor...
It felt like hours...
"Hmm...He's quite mad, Don't you think, Miss Akira?" A smooth voice interrupted my shock.
From the shadows near the old lockers, Law emerged, a clipboard in his hand, as he casually walked up to me. I gazed up at him slowly, not really realizing that he was there.
His dark eyes flickered over my beaten body as a small frown appeared on his otherwise emotionless face.
" Getting injured on the second day as well?" He tsked with an eyebrow raised.
Then his tattooed hand grabbed mine. " Come on, let's go." He murmured.
I didn't move, pulling my hand away from him. " No I'm fine." I answered back.
Law turned to me, his eyes meeting mine. " Miss Akira." He said in a firm tone. " I am a doctor. You are bleeding. You are most definitely not fine ."
I stared back at him not breaking eye contact. " I said I'm fine." I replied not giving up. " If you really want to help, then please treat Nami first," I added as I pointed towards the classroom," She has a severe head injury....and she's bleeding in several plac-"
Before I could finish, Law grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder. I gritted my teeth as a jolt of pain shot through my body.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked as I squirmed in his grasp. "I said. I'm. Fine."
Law sighed as he started walking slowly down the hallway. His mouth was drawn in a straight line and the golden hopped earring in his right ear clattered with each step.
"You know, Miss Akira, you don't have to pretend to be strong all the time." he mumbled under his breath.
I froze from struggling.
Law turned his head to look at me over his shoulder. " No one is truly invincible in this world. We all have times when things fall apart. So cry. Cry and let it out. So you can smile again sooner."
Then Law flashed a small smirk at me, "Trust me on this, I am a doctor."
I felt something cold slide down my face as I listened to his words. They came slowly at first and then began to trickle down faster.
I knew that Law felt it too as the salty tears stained his jacket. But he continued to face forward.
"Nami...help her too.." I murmured between small gasps.
"Don't worry." Law answered quietly. "I'll take care of it."
My eyelids were heavy from tears, as I buried my face into Law's jacket so he wouldn't see me. "Thanks Law." I said in a small whisper."
Just as I fell into unconsciousness I heard Law reply. But his words were muddled and unclear.

*BANG*
Bon clay hit the locker hard, his back cracking at the force. A hand grabbed his shirt in a bundle and lifted him up. The clown growled as a trickled of blood fell from his mouth where he had just been punched.
He stared at the raven haired teen in front of him.
" So tell me...." Ace asked in a playfully evil voice." What were you doing disguised as Akira, Hmm..?"
Bon clay gave a shake of his head as he motioned sealing his lips.
Ace scowled at the clowns antics. He placed his hand on Bon Clay's head and summoned a small ball of fire. The clown's gelled hair immediately lit up in a mini bonfire.
" WHAT THE HELL!" Bon clay said as he freaked out. He frantically tried to pat out the flames. It took a couple of tries and multiple burns to accomplish it.
" Tell me what I want to know, or I'll burn your make-up collection next." Ace threatened.
The clown gasped at this. " You wouldn't dare." He said.
Ace smirked as he lifted his arm and pointed it at a bright pink locker that said: Property of Bon Clay on the front.
"3" Ace said as he summoned another ball of fire.
The heat intensified as more flames were added to it.
" 2 ......
1......"
" Okay fine!" Bon clay exclaimed as he stood in between the fire and his locker. " I'll talk, I'll talk. "He shouted as anime tears streamed down his face. "Just please don't burn my make-up!"
Ace snapped his finger, dispersing the ball of flames. He crossed his arms, waiting.
The clown in front of him let out a heavy sigh. " Crocodile ordered me to disguise as Akira and turn you guys against her. " Bon Clay explained.
Ace narrowed his eyes. "And who paid Crocodile to do this." The raven teen asked. " He doesn't just do these things for fun .
Bon clay smiled at the discipline head's question. His eyes gazing up at the raven haired boy. " Why it was your younger brother's friend." He replied as he scratched his chin. " I think her name was Nami or something."
Ace remained expressionless at the answer. But his mind was already spinning.
Nami?
The raven teen gave Bon Clay one final look and then turned away. " Thank you for your cooperation." He said as he tipped his orange hat and began to walk.
"Wait, Portgas." Bon Clay suddenly called out causing Ace to stop.
The clown crossed his arms as he leaned against the locker. " Before you go, Tell me."he asked with narrow eyes. "How did you know that I wasn't the real Akira. I mean, my disguises are flawless."
Now it was Ace's turn to smile at the question. " Well it was obvious." The discipline head replied with a smirk.
Bon Clay raised an eyebrow. "Really?" he said clearly not believing Ace, "How is it obvious?" He challenged
Ace's just continued to smirk." Because no girl can possibly say that they hate Portgas D. Ace." He said proudly.
Then Ace turned again and continued on his way down the hallway.
Bon Clay just shook his head as he watched the teen leave. " He always was so full of himself." The clown muttered as he gazed at the clock mounted on the wall.
Hmm...guess it's time to check on how Crocodile's doing. The clown thought as he began walking towards the room.
