As the girls dashed passed Hagrid's hut, the sound of paws against the door and barking startled them. "Oh, it's Fang." Lily told Maddie, remembering her dad's stories.

Lily thought about all her dad's stories from his childhood up to the battle. You know what, she thought to herself, I reckon my dad's stories would make a pretty good book.

"Is Fang Hagrid's dog?" Maddie asked. "Yep." Lily replied, "How 'bout we take him with us?" "Good idea. Now all I can think about is the centaur scare."

Maddie hurried up the single stone step and pulled on the door's handle. Locked. "Step aside," Lily ordered. Maddie hopped backwards of the stone. "Alohamora!" Lily pointed her want at the door. She went up to it and pulled it open. She turned to tell Maddie something, and the dog pounced. He tackled her to the grass and began licking her face. "Fang," she laughed.

Maddie stepped up from behind and yanked on his collar, forcing him to step back. Lily giggled, and wiped the slobber with her sleeve as she stood up. "We better go. It's been a long night and now, an even longer morning. The sooner we find them, the sooner we can sleep." Lily followed her (Fang trotting happily beside) to the trees. "Lumos," she said, and the tip of her wand flew to life.

In the woods with Hugo and Lena

"Calm down. It's okay." The voice said. Lena was still uncontrollably sobbing, But Hugo craned his neck to see behind him. "Who are you?" He asked. "Hugo, you know me." He stepped forward. "Uncle Harry!" He exclaimed, wishing to hug him. "Why are you here?" Hugo asked him. He watched his uncle bite his lip. "Well..."

Maddie froze. She could have sworn she'd heard Hugo's voice... or somebody's voice. "That way," she pointed. "Cut through the trees." The two girls ran, with the dog easily trotting behind them. They reached an opening. Maddie quickly glanced around, and saw the back of a man with Lena and Hugo tied to trees. "Who's the guy?" She whispered. Lily shrugged, but then took a closer look. "Wait a second..." her voice became louder, "Dad?!" The man turned around. It was Harry Potter. "Dad!" Maddie stood up and ran towards him, where he embraced her. "Lils," he squeezed her then set her down. Maddie stood up and made her way over to the group. "Maddie!" Hugo screamed... a bit to excited. Once he realized so, he did the same to Lily, not to seem suspicious.

"Get me down, somebody?" Lena asked. "Oh, right." Harry chuckled. "Reducto!" The rope broke and Lena stumbled as her feet hit the ground. Harry did the same to his nephew, but Hugo didn't stumble. "Lena," Maddie made a move to hug her. Lena hesitated then gave her a little half hug. Maddie wanted to cry. She used to be so close to her sister. It wasn't like they were sisters, but more like best friends. Grade school... they were inseparable. Hogwarts... she never felt so alone as far as her family goes.

"Dad, why are you here?" Lily asked, still hanging on his arm. Family. "That's, er, quite the long story." Was all he said.
