I need to find some substrate that can hold water in it for a long time. I need a way t make sure theenclosure is mold proof. I need a bigger enclosure. I need a way to make sure there will be oxygen. 

Idea for oxygen: Small grasses

Idea for substrate: 1/2 inch of dirt

Idea for mold proof: Keep the dirt moist, but not too wet

Bigger enclosure: I will have to find one at the dollar store.

Supplies needed: Larger container, grass seeds, dirt, water, something to make holes in the larger container

Where to get the things needed: I can get grass seeds at the store, I can get dirt from the backyard, I can get water from the sink, and I can get the enclosure at the dollar store. I can make holes in the container with my screw I've been using.

Amount of money needed: Container $1.07, grass seed $16.10, dirt free, water free, screw owned. 

Total: $17.17

Time for the grass to grow: 7 days to a month

Other things I need to add in: Fabrics, hair, carpet bits, and maybe random feathers (they eat those too)

It seems kind of complicated for tiny bugs, but I discussed with my science teacher, and he agrees that this might work very well. 

What to do when I need them for experiments: I'll just take some out and put them in the old small container for experiments.

I'll tell the end result when I manage to get this project done.
