My Quondam Girlfriend 2

Since many asked for a Part 2 of this one shot, here you go 😊

Omniscient point of view~

Matured content ahead; Violence, Language and Sex

*

After meeting Mina after 8 years, Dahyun and Jimin decided to go home. He was really ecstatic when he saw Mina inside a boutique earlier. It's been years, but she still looked the same. Yes, she matured a little, but in his eyes, she's still the prettiest woman he had ever seen in his entire life.

"I saw that." Dahyun said and he was a bit confused. She faced him and walked towards his direction. She cupped his face and smacked him on my head. "You're still in love with Mina."

"W-What?" He asked her, but she just giggled in response. "What are you talking about?" She shook her head, still giggling. She turned her back on him, but he back hugged her. "Are you jealous, my wife?" He asked sweetly.

She sighed, "No, I am not. I am stating a fact." She took his hands off of him and escaped from his hug. "I'll be readying myself to sleep. You should sleep, too." She faced him for the second time and gave him a quick peck. "I love you." She went upstairs while Jimin was left dumbfounded. He followed her in the master's bedroom, but she wasn't there. Dahyun will sleep in a guest room.

At times like these, that means that Dahyun wants to give Jimin space to think of what he's feeling towards her. It's been 8 years, but she knows that he's still unsure of his feelings.

It hurts her to see her husband love another woman, but she can't do anything about it. She can't make him unlove her. After all, Dahyun and Jimin married for business purposes, not for love.

*

Jin and Mina got home safe and sound. They cleaned theirselves up before going to bed. Jin really wanted to have a warm night with his wife, but he knows that she would refuse. They never had a warm night after getting married. They never had a child though they're already 1 year married.

Mina was waiting at their bedroom while reading a book. Jin entered with only a pair of boxers on his body. She noticed it and giggled. Jin jumped to their bed and cuddled with his wife.

"Let's try it." Jin whispered to her ear in a very seductive way. He held his wife's pajamas, ready to take it off.

Mina half-smiled, "I'm really tired." She said and he pouted. She refused him--like what she always does. She doesn't want to have sex with him because she remembers Jimin. Mina promised Jimin that he will only be the guy that she will share a night with. And she doesn't break promises.

"Okay." Jin sighed in disappointment and turned his broad and naked back on his wife. Mina felt guilty, but she just tried to sleep.

*

Dahyun fixed his husband's necktie while eating a piece of bread. Jimin thought that his wife looked very sexy. Her red hair is tied in a bun, she's wearing a big loose shirt and a pair of shorts. Dahyun doesn't really wear those kind of clothes, but for the sake of Jimin will notice her, she tried.

"You're lookin' sexy, my wife." He used that endearment, so he could remember that she's his wife. "What did you eat?" He joked, but she just chuckled softly.

"Go to work." Dahyun said and punched his husband's chest. Jimin remembered Mina with that simple gesture.

Dahyun suddenly coughed and Jimin immediately gave her a glass of water from the kitchen. She drank the water and thanked him.

"Are you okay?" He asked and she nodded to assure him. He hesitated to leave her, but she insisted. She watched her husband exit the house and then she coughed endlessly.

She continued on coughing, until her throat hurted. She then decided to go to the hospital.

*

Jimin was on his way home when he stopped by at a flower shop to buy his wife a bouquet of flowers. That's the least he could do for her. Yes, he can give anything to her, but not his love. It's easy for him to say that he loves her, though it's a lie.

He saw a beautiful flower on a pot and the vendor endorsed it to him right away, "This is a blue gardenia. It represents secret love and the joy of sweet love." She said and he kept on staring at that flower. It was hypnotizing him.

He thought of Mina. Secret love and the joy of sweet love. He said to himself. He thought that it does represent his love towards her.

"You're here, too?" He was startled when he noticed Mina beside him. One minute he was just thinking of her and now she's already beside him, picking a flower.

"Yeah. I'm buying flowers for Dahyun." They both chuckled and then silence passed by them. It has been years since they last saw each other. It's awkward for two ex-lovers to see each other again.

He bought a bouquet of roses for Dahyun instead, but he bought a pot of blue gardenia, as well.

"Are you building a garden or something?" Mina asked her ex-lover. "That's a lot of flowers." Jimin just laughed at her. She's still the same Mina. She didn't change at all. The only thing that changed about her is that she's wearing a wedding ring. Jimin thought.

He then bid his good bye and Mina was left in the flower shop.

*

He came home and he felt a weird atmosphere. Something is definitely not right when he got home.

He placed the pot of blue gardenia on the window pane and searched for his wife. He looked for her at the master's bedroom, but she wasn't there. He knocked on the door and opened it. He saw his wife lying on the bed.

"I'm home, my wife." He greeted with a smile, but Dahyun didn't answer him. She kept on coughing and she even has a mask on.

"Are you hungry?" Dahyun tried to stand up with all of her strength. She's becoming weak because of her cough. Jimin looked at her in a pitiful way.

She looked pale--paler than usual. She assisted her husband with the food that she cooked. He can't do anything, but to stare at her. He doesn't know how to feel and react.

"Are you really alright?" Jimin asked her before she goes. Dahyun nodded and smiled underneath her mask.

She went to her bed and slept.

*

Days had passed and Mina and Jimin continued on meeting each other coincidentally at the flower shop. Jimin bought bouquets of tulips for Dahyun this time and he continued on buying pots of blue gardenia, as well.

However, he didn't ask Mina why is she there always. He has no idea why is she visiting that flower shop from time to time.

"Do you mind if I ask you why are you here all the time?" Jimin asked while waiting for the staff to arrange the flowers.

Mina giggled and his heart pounded from hearing that golden giggle of hers, "I'm the owner of this flower shop."

Jimin was shocked to know that she owns a flower shop. She never mentioned any of it before.

After a quick talk, Jimin left the flower shop.

From afar, is Jin glaring at their direction. He knew that there is something going on with the two of them--though in reality, there is none. He's becoming a paranoid jerk.

He texted Mina that he'll fetch her and she agreed right away.

*

Mina received a very big slap from Jin when they both got home. Jin was furious and mad when the two met inside the flower shop earlier. Mina shielded herself using her arms, but Jin kicked her arms. She cried in pained and pleaded him to stop, but he continued on beating his wife.

Battered wife.

"How dare you meet with him?" Jin asked and grabbed Mina's hair. He held it tightly, to the point that her hair can fall out anytime.

"Answer me! Did the two of you planned to meet!?"

"N-No..." she said weakly. "Believe me, Jin. That is plain coincidence. It's not my intention--"

"Shut up, whore." He stomped his foot on her stomach, making her almost spit blood. He left her, mad while she was crying on the floor.

*

Days passed, again, and Mina's condition turned from bad to worse. Jin became a drunkard. He would always have his friends around his house to drink and Mina will be his 'waitress'. She would always assist him and sometimes, would be forced by Jin to have sex with him.

It scared her and she didn't know how to escape from hell.

On the other hand, Jimin noticed Dahyun's state. She usually locks herself inside the guest room, not bothering if her husband gets home or not.

Her condition became worst. She looked extremely pale and there are dark circles around her eyes. She lost weight as well and she doesn't have any appetite to eat whatever kind of food Jimin brings home.

He once brought a bouquet of chocolates for her, but she ignored it which is very unusual because she adored chocolates since she was a little girl.

She locked herself inside the guest room because she doesn't want to let Jimin see what she looks like. And of course, she doesn't want to see those pitiful eyes of him.

She coughed endlessly and there she noticed blood stains on her pillow case. That's the worst symptom that she could think of. She closed her eyes and slept.

*

The next day, Jimin woke up with a bad feeling. He feels like something bad has happen. He got up from bed, did his morning ritual and then checked on his wife. He was stunned when he noticed that the door wasn't locked.

He knocked before entering, "My wife, I'll be leaving for work now." He said and walked near her. He smelled iron--which is pretty peculiar because there's no rusting metal inside the guest room.

He stopped infront of her and then saw her cold body. His legs went jelly and kneeled before his wife who is taking a deep nap.

He carressed his red hair with his trembling hands. There's stains of blood found on her bed.

He thought she was dead, but she opened her eyes and gave him a smile. She held his trembling hands and teared, "J-Jimin..."

"D-Dahyun--"

"...do me a favor before I pass away." She said and Jimin nodded right away. At this time, he would do everything for his wife. "Marry Mina." She then closed her eyes and slept. Forever.

*

At that time, Mina packed all of her things and talked to him. She had filed divorce against Jin. Jin doesn't want to be with her also, so he signed the papers with no regret.

Mina exited the house with her bag. She still feels weak because of those bruises and wounds that she received from her ex-husband.

She's on her way to the court to hand the divorce papers out.

*

After three days, Jimin stood at the sea while holding a jar with Dahyun's ash. He opened it and threw her ash away to the sea to let go of her. There are also rose petals that were thrown by him.

"Thank you, Dahyun." He prayed for a minute and then went back to his car.

He drove towards the nearest food chain when he saw Mina. He rolled his window down and called her. She was surprised to see him, but she stopped to face him. He invited him for lunch and she agreed.

They both entered a local food chain and talked about their lives. Mina noticed Jimin's puffy eyes.

"Did you cry?" She asked and he nodded slowly as a reply. "Why?"

"Dahyun..." he paused. "...she passed away three days ago."

She was startled to hear such a news. She never knew that he would become a widower at a young age.

Jimin changed the topic, "How about you and Jin?" He noticed some of Mina's wounds and bruises. He held her face right away, "Is he treating you kindly?" He examined her face and their eyes met.

Just like before, their world slowed down while staring at each other's eyes.

Jimin heard his heart pounding quickly and loudly again. It's been a long time since he felt it again. Mina is the only girl that made his heart beat in a way that no other girls can.

He took off his hand and blushed from what he did. He lowered his head, embarrassed of how he acted towards her. "I-I'm sorry."

"Me and Jin are divorced." Mina said and it made him face her. He was shookt because of what she told him. "I don't want to be with him anymore."

Jimin gulped, "Dahyun told me something before she died."

"And what is that?"

"She wants me to marry you." Mina was shocked. She froze and stopped from eating. She's too surprised to hear what Dahyun's last wish is. "Will you marry me?" He was fast and Mina absolutely knows that.

She hesitated to answer him, but she hummed a yes as her reply.
