Much to his friends protest against it, Jungkook soon had to apologize for not eating much of his lunch and for leaving them so soon.

"I know, I know. I just want to be on Jiyeon's good side," he explained as he gathered his trash to throw away. "I want to get along with my roommate." Yoongi quietly helped Jungkook collect his trash, and Namjoon and Hoseok had to watch as they did so.

"We'll have other times to eat together," Yoongi told them, chuckling as Hoseok tried to force Jungkook's face towards him for 'goodbye kisses'. "Let him go. Besides, he's paying next time."

Hoseok approved and he happily let Jungkook go, but the youngest rolled his eyes— he never agreed to buy their food, but it was whatever.

"See you guys later."

And so, Jungkook went home earlier than he normally would.

Jiyeon was shuffling around the small kitchen when he stepped into the apartment. She's in the same year as Jungkook, but she studies food— culinary— that's why she wanted to make dinner tonight.

They had gotten along quite well, mostly because they haven't exactly spoken much, but Jiyeon isn't the most terrible roommate and neither is Jungkook, if you ask him personally. He makes sure to be good.

"Ah, you're here, good." She was already starting dinner, from what Jungkook could see. She had her short black hair tied back into a low ponytail, a pastel pink apron on, and she had a ton of seasonings out on the counter.

Jiyeon, being a culinary student, had so many things in their kitchen. Jungkook didn't mind because damn, did it make for some good food— Jiyeon told him he could use anything he wanted in there.

But Jungkook's cooking or baking is nowhere near as good as anyone like the culinary students. He'd seen Jiyeon make so many pastries for her boyfriend and for people who bought them from her. She's good.

"You didn't have to cook dinner for me— us," Jungkook told her as he stepped into to the kitchen. She waved his words off.

"My boyfriend loves food and I can tell you do too." She was too busy to look at him as she spoke, but she eventually turned to glance at him. "I figured you should meet my boyfriend. Since classes started and we're settled in now, he'll be here often."

Great.

Jungkook had no significant other to have over like that, and he didn't really want one either. Relationships are too much to handle and nobody ever catches his eye, so he'll just be alone forever. Sadly..

"I guess that sounds good. I'll wash the dishes afterwards then."

Jiyeon nodded. "Sounds good to me. I wash most dishes as I go, but sure. Thanks."

She's nice, so Jungkook was thankful for that, but he was sort of afraid that her boyfriend would hate him for... living with her. He knew nothing about her boyfriend— what if he's the jealous type? He doesn't even know his name!

"Hey, what's—"

A sudden knocking on the apartment door made both Jungkook and Jiyeon jump in alarm. "Oh, that's him!" She quickly went to the door and looked back at Jungkook before exhaling and opening the door. "Hi!"

The door was opened to reveal a quite familiar face.

Jiyeon wrapped her arm around the back of her boyfriend and pulled him into the door, smiling over at Jungkook. "This is my boyfriend, Kim Seokjin, I'm sure you've heard of him. Jinnie, this is Jungkook."

Kim Seokjin.

Their eyes locked as Jiyeon gestured to the both of them, but Jungkook held his breath because he realized then and there— this is the guy he ran into the other day— and this is Kim Seokjin.

Kim Seokjin; this guy is the campus hottie. This guy is the one that all the girls drools over. No wonder why Jungkook thought he looked familiar! He's talked about so much these days, how could he not recognize?

Seokjin didn't look as surprised as Jungkook, but he looked rather confused instead. His head tilted and his eyebrows furrowed as he scanned Jungkook, from his head to his toes.

Jungkook shifted a bit uncomfortably under his gaze, fidgeting with the hem of his coat as he was eyed.

"It's a guy? This guy?" Seokjin questioned Jiyeon, who very noticeably looked confused in return.

"Jeon Jungkook! I told you about him, remember? He's my roommate."

Jungkook gulped as Seokjin kept eying him. "Nice to meet you... again," he muttered as Seokjin stepped inside with his girlfriend. Seokjin's gaze softened a bit, not as intense as before. Maybe he noticed Jungkook was getting uncomfortable.

"Sure. Nice to meet you... Jeon Jungkook."

"Jungkook, do you like the meal?" Jiyeon asked, her curious eyes set on him.

Jungkook felt so odd, Jiyeon and Seokjin sitting across from him with Jiyeon trying to make sure Jungkook's reaction to the food was good and with Seokjin's gaze set hard on him.

"Um." Jungkook cleared his throat after sipping his drink. "The food's great, thank you—"

"Oh, then I'll go get the dessert too! I made Jinnie's favorite flavor." Jiyeon hurried from her seat to go to the kitchen, leaving the two men alone at the table.

Jungkook avoided the eyes staring hard at him. "So, Jeon Jungkook." He couldn't avoid him for long. Seokjin leaned over the table to catch his eye. "I'm not gonna have any problems with you, am I? Hm?"

Noticing the teasing tone in Seokjin's voice didn't stop Jungkook from feeling intimidated. Quickly, he shook his head. "You don't have to worry about me. It'll be like I was never here. I swear."

Seokjin slowly leaned back into his seat, nodding his head. "Good, good."

"What're you guys talking about?" Jiyeon asked as she walked back to them, offering a plate of strawberry muffins to them. Seokjin waved her question off as he took one.

"Just asked Jungkook if he was going to be a problem. Nothing much."

Jiyeon rolled her eyes at her boyfriend. "Of course he won't be a problem. Besides, aren't you two going to be friends now? For me? You'll be friends, right?"

Jungkook frowned to himself. He just told Seokjin that it would be like he was never there, but Jiyeon was butchering those words by asking them to be friends. Even Seokjin gave her an uncertain look.

"Um. Sure, if you say so." What Seokjin meant was no, why would we do that, but Jungkook could tell he didn't want to say it so directly.

"Great! You two will be so close. We all will! It'll be so fun!" Jiyeon exclaimed, too excited for Jungkook's liking— and apparently Seokjin's too, judging by that look on his face.

"Great," Seokjin muttered to himself.

He sure isn't subtle in any way. How was Jiyeon so dense?
