SANA'S POV
Today, Tae will be meeting my parents. He already have met my parents before when we were in high school. The time in the coffee shop after the sleepover at Momo's house. My parents came in and I introduced him to them. Our first kiss also happened that day.
It was unforgettable.
We have arrived in Osaka minutes ago. We're on our way to my parent's house. I already have informed my parents that me and my fiancé (I just love to call him that) will be visiting them. I have to formally introduce my man to my parents, right?
We walked towards our house and when we finally reached it, I pressed the doorbell and waited for my mom to come out. She opened the gate and gave me a tight hug.
"Aww, I miss you, mom." I hugged her back.
"I miss you, too, sweetie." She escaped from the hug and noticed Tae behind me. She gave me a wicked grin. "Come in. I have prepared snacks for you, guys."
"Where's dad, mom?" I asked her as we enter our house. I looked around our old house and a smile on my face was formed.
"He left work, so he could spend a day with us." She snickered and assisted us. She gave us a tray full of Japanese delicacies. She also served us beverages. "Your dad will be home soon. He just went to the grocery store to buy the ingredients that he needs in order for him to make us a satisfying dinner."
"Ah," I nodded and just smiled. I think this will be the perfect time for me to introduce Tae. "Mom, you remember Tae, right?" I asked her.
"Oh yes, I remember you, dear." Tae smiled awkwardly when mom said that. "You're my daughter's boyfriend before, right? When you were still in high school?" I translated it for Tae.
"Yes, that's right, ma'am." Tae answered her, but of course, I translated it for her again. "I would like to ask your permission if I could marry Sana." I was a bit astonished when he said it frankly. Slow down, Kim Taehyung. Mom was waiting for the translation, so I told her what did he say.
Mom chuckled, "I'm permitting you to marry my daughter."
"Mom!" I yelled and then she asked me why. "How could you just give me away?"
"What?" She asked laughingly. "I have seen the ring, sweetie. There's no reason for me to forbid you." Tae laughed and I glared at him. This man. Maybe he got the idea because of Mom's actions. Maybe he saw how mom looked at the engagement ring. We all heard a buzz. We all knew that it was dad who's outside the house.
So mom stood up, exited the house and let dad in. We were already hearing his voice even though he's still outside. He entered with paper bags on his hand. We stood up and greeted dad. He greeted us back and said that he'll be back.
"Are you tired?" Tae asked me. I smiled at him and shook my head.
"Why would I be tired? We just got here." I answered him. He took my hand and held it. He never let go of it even when dad came back.
"You're translating everything they said." He pouted. "I wish I studied Japanese."
"I'll teach you, then." I answered and pinched his fluffy cheeks.
"You guys are cute." I heard dad said. I blushed and faced him. He laughed, "Don't blush, princess."
"Dad!" I pouted and hid my red face. Tae is just looking at me and I know that he doesn't have any idea what is dad saying. "Ya! Don't look at me!" He laughed at me even more.
"What's the problem, princess?" Dad asked me. I just shook my head, saying that there's no problem. "Your mom is at thr kitchen. She's preparing our dinner." I translated Tae what dad said.
"I bet it will be amazing." I translated it again. This translation thingy is kind of serving as a barrier for Tae and dad. They can't communicate well because they speak in different languages. Maybe Tae really needs to study my language and I'll help him study it.
The conversation went on and I kept on translating it until dinner was served. Mom called the three of us to go to the dining area and eat what she prepared.
"What are your plans for tomorrow?" Mom asked me while eating the noodles. I bet Tae has no idea of what we're saying right now. He's just eating silently.
"Tae will introduce me to his parents." I told them. "So, we already booked a flight for tomorrow morning."
"Will you stay here in our house?" Dad asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders, "I don't know, dad. Me and Tae needs a little privacy since we're just a newly engaged couple."
"Right," Mom agreed. "Where will you stay, then?"
"There's bunch of hotels here in Japan, mom. We'll just check in." I answered her. We kept on conversating with each other. Our bowls are already empty, but we're still talking to each other. Tae is just sitting beside me. He's very quiet.
"So, when will the wedding happen?" She asked.
"Uh, October 20th, mom. We already had a reservation in the Myeongdong Cathedral. Do you remember Jin? He has a restaurant now and we plan to do the reception there." I explained. "We have barely 3 months to plan the wedding. I still don't know where will I buy a wedding gown."
"Ah, I have a friend. Her gowns are really beautiful. She's in the Philippines right now, I think. She's living with her husband." Mom recommended. "Her name is Diana Shin. I'll give her a call."
"Are you sure that she's a great designer, mom?" She laughed a little. I'm not quite sure of that designer she's talking about.
"Yeah, she's the best. She made my wedding gown before!" Mom smiled widely. I'm unsure of that Diana, but I trust mom, so I'll try her suggestion.
Tae is still silent. I held his hand underneath the table. He tilted his head to face me and half-smiled.
"Do you wanna go home?" I asked him in Korean. Mom and dad doesn't have an idea what I'm saying, tho. They said that I have a strong dialect when I came back here in Japan. They said that I sound like a Busan girl. How did they know Busan?
"Take your time with your parents, Sana. I know that the three of you only see each other infrequently." He said and gave me a smile again. I'm really thankful for having him in my life.
"Thank you for understanding." He nodded and I went back talking to my parents.
After our talk, they decided that Tae and I should be going. Dad brought us to a hotel where we could stay. He bid his good bye and Tae and I checked in in a room.
We placed all of our bags on the floor as soon as we enter the room. Tae jumped towards the bed and closed his eyes. I hit his hanging feet.
"Ya! Change clothes before going to sleep!" I told him as I take off my jacket. He pouted and opened his eyes. He sat down and looked at me. "What?"
"Nothing. You're just beautiful." He said in a low volume.
"Stop trying to trick me. I know you want something." I said. I turned to him and crossed my arms. "What do you want?"
"Honeymoon?" He smirked. He's being a byuntae again.
"No. After the wedding day, okay?" He sighed and hopped off the bed. "Go change your clothes."
"Change your clothes, too!" He ranted. "When will be our flight?"
"Tomorrow at 4 AM." I answered. "Why?"
"That's too early. I won't be able to make breakfast for you." He pouted once more. "Unless you'll be my--"
"Oh, shut up, Kim Taehyung! Just go change your clothes!" I threw him a pillow and he laughingly entered the shower room to change his clothes.
