The tall vampire's mouth turned into a vicious smile, displaying the teeth with his sharp fangs, glistening to the light.

"Vampires!" I shrieked in panic, ran to my parent's side, I wondered if they knew about them.

"Mom, tell me it's a dream" I whisper pleaded at her, she shook her head in response. It took a few minutes to wrap my head around the reality, the very existence of the creatures of the dark shook my verity about all the other myths too, I wondered if they were myths anymore?

"Why do you want them? Please spare us, you can drink from others, we will not utter a word about this to anyone, please spare us" I begged at them, begging seemed like the only choice I was left with, we didn't have a chance to outwit them.

They all looked at me in amusement, like I was their current entertaining pageant.

"You can ask your parents to drink, for the last time but... They will come with us" the taller one commanded with finality, it was clear that he was the head of this coven from his conversation.

"What do you mean? Why should they drink blood?" I asked, mulling questions over the question, graced with mysteries over mysteries.

"You don't know?" They asked, lips forming into an arrogant smirk, he walked towards me, grabbed my hand, and pierced a thin line in my wrist.

Blood oozed from the place it was cut but what was more shocking was that my parents had turned numb and their teeth grew into fangs, matching with the strangers.

"Vampire!" I thought out loud, tears streaming down my cheeks. I heard some laughter erupting between the spectators.

"Honey..." My mother started, but I shook my head, gesturing them to not speak but can I leave them to be taken away? No, definitely not, they may not be my biological parents but still, they were the ones that raised me by putting their lives into jeopardy.

"Spare them please, let them live their life," I asked the leader of the coven.

"They are vampires, vampires are not supposed to raise a human child, they broke the law, kept you hidden, and now they will pay the price" he replied with no emotion.

I glanced at them and my parents, I couldn't give up on them, I replied "I will do anything you ask me to do, please spare them" I begged, that was my last hope.

"You will?" The leader asked, I nodded at him in agreement.

"What are you doing, no Hope stop it, let them take us" my mother stated but I'm was not in the mood to be told off.

The leader nodded at his members, having a silent conversation within them, he glared at me and replied, "turn!"

I looked at him in confusion, what does he mean by turn? He glared at my parents and commanded "turn her or kill her".

The world stopped spinning, the culmination of the word kept echoing inside my head, I didn't want to turn, being immortal can be a curse and I didn't want to endure it.

A heated argument started between my parents and the coven, my parents spoke to the leader with guts, who was I kidding, they were vampires too, the only vulnerable, helpless person standing in the room was me.

The argument turned heated, the leader's voice boomed throughout the living room unexpectedly, "you can't turn her? Well then, we don't have a choice" he turned to me abruptly and continued, "she dies!".

Two strangers who looked like the bodyguards dragged my parents outside, while the other two walked towards me, took my injured hand, and drank in gulps.

My body started going numb, draining my energy to fight back, heat spread through my body, hurting every limbs and nerve.

"That's enough, destroy the place, create a cover story and spread it around the town, leave her body there, she will be out before the morning" the leader commanded orders.

I was left lying on the floor while they destroyed the house, the unfathomable strength brought our house to destruction, the pillars and the walls falling apart, a huge stone-like something fell over my legs, trapping me under the broken ashes and panels.

I heard the echoes of my parent's voice outside the house, screaming in horror, my mind went blank and I fell into oblivion.

I woke up to the blinding light emitting from the LED lamps glimmering in the ceiling, I adjusted to the sudden glints.

When my visions came back, everything stood crystal clear, every spec and every dust magnified ten times than before.

I looked around the room, taking in the mysterious interiors, it was red and black, dark but beautiful but also the surrounding screamed danger, from what I went through previously, this room only brings back the memory of blood and death.

I was left to die, that was my last memory but what was this place, this cannot be heaven but hell doesn't offer you a comfortable bed to sleep in, everything came to one conclusion, my senses said I'm alive, although I couldn't believe it, it was true, my body hurts, scorching as if it was in the fire.

I heard the door click and my mom walked inside, she noticed I was awake so she came rushing to my side and engulfed me in a tight hug.

I was relieved to see her healthy, everything seemed as if was a dream, I was alright so was my mother, my only concern now was about my father.

"Dad?" I asked my mother, my voice shaking due to the lack of use, I wondered for how long I was out of my consciousness.

"He's downstairs" she replied softly, understanding my unvoiced thoughts.

A thousand questions brewed inside of my mind, I started with the basic "why did you raise me?"

She smiled at, her smile holding a million secrets, she replied: "we didn't want to be here..."

"What do you mean by here? Where are we?" I interrupted, hastily trying to find out where we were?

"Eh... We are at the immune castle" she stammered.

"What is immune Castle?" I countered.

"This is where creatures like us live, I mean our coven lives, more stays across the world in their own castles" she informed.

It took a moment to process all the information, it was too much to take in, "why did you raise me? Where are my biological parents?" I repeated, I wanted answers and I decided to get them.

"You're biological died in a car crash, you were the only survivor, a cute little toddler" she informed fondly.

"A cover story?" I asked her suspiciously.

"No, I know what you are thinking but its the truth, we escaped this castle, we didn't like the brutal killing or seducing innocent to offer us blood, on the run we came across a car crash, we didn't like the smell of it we decided to leave the place but your father saw you, you were like the little ray of sunshine for our new life, you were our hope, our one reason to live a life as a family, that is why we named you Hope" she patted my head in the between, concern and affection clear from the gesture.

Everything she uttered sounded true and I loved her a little more, every struggle I endured for saving their lives seemed much worthier but how was I alive?

"How am I not dead?" I asked her.

"We raised you, loved you, learned to survive by not killing innocent lives but we always knew there is danger surrounding you, so we enrolled you in a boarding school, kept you secured but when the leader asked to let you die, we couldn't do that Hope, you are our little child, so we..." She sobbed a little but I wanted to know more,

"What did you do? How am I alive?" I asked her

"We... We turned you, yes we came back to the house and turned you, we didn't have a choice" she informed.

"So I'm a..." I stuttered the word, it was a high price to pay and we did, but the acceptance was not settling right inside my head.

My mother confirmed, "a Vampire!"
