Shards of lost feelings

Everything was peaceful for a while... No pain, no tears... Legacy slept soundly for a few hours and treasured the wonderful silence. For the first time in a while since she was brought to consciousness without her memories, Legacy was relaxed and not worrying over anything.

"Hey... She's okay, right?" A voice faintly spoke from amidst her peaceful slumber. "Her eyes look a little puffy. Did she cry that much?"

This voice sounded very familiar to her, she was sure of that.

"Be quiet, Yoosung, or you'll wake her up." A second voice scolded the first, this one sounding much deeper and serious.

It seems that the first voice belonged to someone named Yoosung. She knew that name very well.

"Yoosung was the blonde man from the organization... RFA, wasn't it? He sounded really worried just now."

Legacy tried to wake up but couldn't open her eyes. She tried speaking but her mouth wouldn't open either.

~Flashback~

"I was so glad to be able to sacrifice myself for you. I will cherish you more. I will always become better for you."

Legacy stared at the person standing on the stage. He had blonde hair and bandages on his left eye... He gazed at her with a look of longing.

"So you'll never regret being with me... I'll give you my heart."

This man looked a lot like...

"Yoosung," She whispered his name, almost unsure, as he slowly walked down the stage and made his way to her.

"Legacy. I'm so glad you're safe." He smiled.

"Yoosung, aren't you getting a little too close?" Legacy heard Zen spoke from behind her, but her eyes were glued to the man leaning down and capturing her lips in a sweet kiss.

~End of Flashback~

After the short kiss, Legacy's eyes snapped open. She sat up from the bed and looked around her, finding Jumin, Jaehee, and Yoosung all looking her way.

"Oh! Legacy, you're finally awake!" Yoosung sighed in relief and ran over to hug her.

"Not so fast, Yoosung." Jumin said and grabbed Yoosung from the back of his jacket. "She just woke up after such a stressful day. Don't just jump on her like that."

"A-Ah, you're right..." Yoosung gasped upon realizing then frowned apologetically. "Sorry, Legacy. I guess I was just really relieved to see you're okay."

Legacy managed a small smile. Yoosung was unquestionably the sweetest among the RFA members. And that memory just now... Did she and Yoosung used to date? That could explain why he's constantly worrying over her, however, she and him had never met before.

When her thoughts revolved around that memory, her head began to ache. She shouldn't think too much about it or else she might get a migraine trying to remember something that possibly could not have happened.

"Legacy? Hey, are you really alright? You look troubled..." Yoosung's face was right in front of hers. "If you need more rest then feel free to do so, okay? Jumin's security is the best so no one will disturb you."

By "no one" he probably might have meant 707. Trying to keep as calm as she could without mentioning the flashback, she stood up and excused herself to the bathroom.

"There's a private bathroom for you here." Jumin pointed towards a door on the other side of the room. "If you need to use one then..."

"Oh, I kind of wanted to stretch my legs a bit... If it's alright with you, I'll walk around and use one of the other ones." She reasoned, and Jumin accepted it without complaint.

It wasn't a lie since she really needed a good walk after sitting down for so long. But the main reason why she wanted to leave the room was because of Yoosung's presence. It made her feel awkward being around him.

"Was that really a memory? But why Yoosung...? If we were dating then he would have known about it or at least mentioned it to me." Legacy theorized.

The halls were bustling with security guards. When Yoosung said Jumin's security was top-notch, she honestly didn't expect them to be present everywhere. Can he really relax in a place like this?

Heaving a soft sigh, she walked into one of the bathrooms. "Hmm?" Feeling something from inside her pocket thud against the doorframe, she reached in and pulled out her phone.

"I forgot this was here..." She murmured to herself and turned it on. "I turned it off because I didn't want Seven to track me down. It wouldn't hurt to check if I received any replies from the guests now, I guess."

When her phone buzzed to life, several messages bombarded her screen. Most of them were emails from the potential party guests, just as she had guessed. Others were text messages from Seven, Zen, and Unknown.

"Unknown texted me?" Legacy was surprised and read his texts first. "Where are you? You're not at the apartment. I hope you're not slacking off somewhere."

How did Unknown know that she wasn't there? Was he spying on her?

"Can you go back to the apartment? I left something important for you there." She continued to read the message out loud. "He wants me to go get it now? But..."

Looking out the window of the bathroom, she could see that the sky was already dark. It was late evening so it would be a little dangerous to go out and get it now.

"Unknown is a hacker, right? It might be best if I get it now so that he won't get angry at me." Legacy went out of the bathroom and checked to make sure the coast was clear. "If I could go get it and come back quickly without them noticing, then the others wouldn't need to worry so much."

She managed to walk out of the penthouse quietly, informing the head of security that she was going to go fetch something from the apartment and come back when he asked her where she was headed. He was even considerate and contacted Driver Kim to bring her there.

Legacy thanked him and went in the car. Her ride to the usual meeting place of Jumin's driver was never boring. She would look outside the window and watch the buildings as they pass by. It didn't look as if going down these roads helped with her missing memories, but they were always pleasant, especially when she isn't getting lost.

Driver Kim parked the car and told her that he would wait. Legacy thanked him and got out, walking briskly to Rika's apartment and wondering what the Unknown person could be giving her. "I hope it's as important as he says... I don't really like being outside during night time." She sighed and shook her head.

Bzzt! Bzzzt!

Legacy stopped outside of the apartment complex when she heard her phone buzzing. She was about to take it out of her pocket and check the caller ID when Seven suddenly shouted from the other side of the road.

"LEGACY!!!"

Hearing his unmistakable voice, she turned her head and saw him rushing out of a silver car. Without knowing how to react to seeing him out of the blue, she stood there staring at him.

"I...finally...found you..." Seven said between pants, embracing her tightly. Had he been running around? She could see drops of sweat on his face and he looked tired as well. "Where were you? I was worried, you know. You just disappeared so suddenly."

Seven pulled away and they looked at each other. Legacy didn't want him to know where she was hiding, but...

"Huh? What are you looking at?" Seven asked and followed her eyes to the apartment. He frowned and shook his head. "You can't go back to the apartment for now. It's dangerous if you go."

"Why should I trust you...?" Legacy blurted out.

Seven looked back at her and saw that she was still upset. He sighed and pointed toward his car, "I'll explain it to you later. I know this is a lot to ask and you don't trust me, but for now, come with me. We can't stay out here for long or else we'll get caught." Legacy gave him a sour expression and showed no signs of doing what he asked. Then, he added, "Vanderwood was really pissed when I escaped to look for you... The entire agency should be searching for me. It's dangerous for us to be in one place for a long time. So...please."

He gently took her wrist and brought her to his car. Legacy followed Seven quietly without looking at him. When she was sitting on the passenger's seat, she kept her gaze on the dashboard and nowhere else. Seven grew worried by her silence during the entire drive. He would glance at her direction every three minutes to see if her expression would change, however, she just kept frowning.

Bzzt! Bzzt! Bzzt!

"Your phone's ringing." He announced and looked back at the road.

Legacy took out her phone and saw that Yoosung was calling her. He must have noticed that she wasn't at Jumin's and became really anxious.

"Yoosung?" She answered.

"Ah! Legacy, you picked up! Where are you?! Jaehee and I can't find you anywhere!" Yoosung sobbed.

"Are you crying? Um, I was going to get something from the apartment. I didn't want to tell you guys, thinking I could come back without anyone noticing." She admitted truthfully. "Is... Is Jumin mad at me?"

"I think he's mad at the security for not informing him that you left. Legacy, please come back... You're with Jumin's driver, right? Tell him to turn back and that we'll go get whatever it is you need to get tomorrow--"

Seven suddenly grabbed her phone and placed it on speaker. Legacy would have scolded him for taking it away if it wasn't for the scary look on his face.

"Yoosung? It's me." He said.

"Huh? Wait... S-Seven?!" Yoosung sounded panicked to hear his voice.

"So you're at Jumin's house, huh? I have Legacy with me right now so I'll be the one to bring her over. Tell Jumin to contact his driver to return to his place."

"Sure... Wait, no! Seven, why do you have Legacy!?"

Without replying to Yoosung, he ended the call and handed back the phone.

"Sorry... I'm a little annoyed right now." Seven confessed, looking at Legacy from the corner of his eye. "Why did you run away? If you were mad at me or something, then just yell at me."

Legacy crossed her arms and remained silent, looking away from him. However she didn't fail to notice his hands gripping the steering wheel tighter when she refused to speak.
