Hunter Black x Draco Malfoy

[ A/N ] this one-shot was requested by chxrmedmedusa- using her oc Hunter Black from her Fearless series, with a common canon character, Draco Malfoy. I tried my best to keep both Hunter and Draco in the character that was requested, but I think I may be lacking in a few parts so sorry for that. Also, since this is my first ever one-shot that I've written (for someone else) it definitely won't be perfect! But please let me know what you think of this and feel free to request on my requests page, a few chapters back.

"Hey, Black! Wait up!" Hunter Black heard behind her as she made her way through the halls of Hogwarts. She immediately recognised that voice and groaned, increasing her pace as she tried to get away from the infuriating boy. Unfortunately for her she wasn't on the tall side - as opposed to the blonde - and the boy caught up with her quickly with his long legs.

Realising that running away from him was useless, Hunter sighed and stopped in her tracks before turning to face the taller boy. She crossed her arms over her chest and raised a questioning eyebrow when the boy didn't speak right away. "Yes, Malfoy?"

Draco Malfoy cleared his throat, realising that he had been staring, and mentally shook himself out of his thoughts of how adorable Hunter looked when she was annoyed. No, he wouldn't let himself go down that road - yet.

"Where are you off to in such a hurry?" He spoke up, curious as he had seen her rush out of Transfiguration as soon as it was over.

Hunter paled slightly that Draco had noticed and she hoped he wouldn't catch on to some of the other things her and her friends and brothers had been up to. She had actually been on her way to a D.A. (Dumbledore's Army) meeting, when Draco caught up to her and she knew more than anything else that she couldn't have him find out what they were doing - even if that meant she had to distract him the whole time.

"Oh, um," Hunter started lamely as she racked her brain for an excuse, grinning widely when she thought of one. "I was just heading to the library to do some extra studying for our O.W.L.s coming up." She explained but now that she said it, she realised she probably should be doing some extra studying soon.

Draco was a bit suspicious but nodded his head nonetheless and gave Hunter a sly smirk. "Mind if I tag along?"

Stupid Malfoy, Hunter cursed silently but remained composed on the outside, offering Draco a strained smile. "Of course." She replied, fake cheerfully. "Although I'm not sure why you would want to."

Draco's smirk remained in tact as he stepped closer to Hunter slightly and the girl didn't step back, not being afraid of what Malfoy had up his sleeve. "Oh, well, you know, you can never study too much." He grinned down at her, their close proximity resulting in their breaths to mingle and Hunter almost shivered but she restrained herself.

Draco, clearly disappointed with her lack of response, scowled and stepped back before another smirk crept up on his face. "Plus, it's my job as being part of the Inquisitorial Squad," he said that like it was such a great honour while Hunter had to stop herself from shuddering in disgust, "to be on the look out and to be wary of any student. You never know who could be working with Potter." He spat out the name in disgust as if it physically pained him to do so.

Hunter sneered at Draco's treatment towards her God-brother and took a threatening step towards the boy who was smirking in satisfaction. "Don't you dare speak that way about Harry again - especially in my presence." She warned menacingly. She grew even more irritated when Draco did not seem the least bit fazed.

"And what if I do?" He asked as he also took a step towards Hunter so now they were not even a foot apart, their chests almost touching. "What are you going to do about it?" He asked as he dropped his voice to whisper and leaned down slightly so that their faces were right in front of each other.

I'm going to kiss you, Hunter thought causing herself to blush lightly and her eyes to widen when she realised that she really did want to kiss Draco. But she couldn't. She wouldn't allow herself to. He was her God-brothers enemy. She wouldn't allow herself to betray him like that. She would just have to be strong, and that was what she was.

She smirked and stepped back, beginning to walk away, leaving Draco completely confused as to what she was doing. He had been thinking (and hoping) that he would be able to kiss Hunter after so long of dreaming about it. But instead, Hunter was walking away - from him. And that was definitely not kissing.

Just before Hunter was out of sight, she turned back slightly to see Draco in the same spot, confused and dazed, staring after her with wide eyes and a slightly open mouth. She smiled proudly to herself at being able to cause such a reaction to a Malfoy and she called out one more thing before she rounded the corner.

"Well I guess you'll just have to wait and see."

---

It was a week after their last encounter before Draco and Hunter met again. This was not including the multiple classes a day they shared with each other as there was no real interaction between them besides a few glances every now and then.

However, the circumstances which led the two to being in the same room together - alone, were not the best.

A spy from Dumbledore's Army had told Professor Umbridge of their meetings and the toad-like professor was entirely pleased of catching the students in the act - which she unfortunately had done.

Most students had been fortunate to escape, however, Hunter had refused to run. If her family and friends were going to get caught and take one for the team; so would Hunter.

So that's how she found herself in a room with Draco, the other members of the Inquisitorial Squad each with another member of the D.A. and just Hunter's luck, Umbridge placed Draco with her.

The two had been silent for quite some time, Draco silently fuming because Hunter had been apart of Potter's little group the whole time, and Hunter because their wasn't much to say to the person who tied you up to the chair. Well, besides the joke that Hunter made about Draco having experience with tying people up but after Draco gave her a glare, Hunter just decided to not speak at all.

"Why?" Draco finally spoke, looking up from the floor which he had been staring intensely at for the past few minutes. He looked at Hunter curiously, earnestly, and was that also hurt Hunter saw in his expression and heard pouring out of his question. No, that can't be right. Why would Draco be hurt that Hunter was apart of the D.A. and most importantly; didn't tell him about it?

Hunter and Draco weren't really even friends so Hunter couldn't for the life of her fathom why Draco would be so upset. Unless... Hunter didn't even want to think about it.

"Because Harry is a great teacher. Because I wanted to. And also maybe because I actually wanted to learn something useful this year and have even the slimmest chance of passing my O.W.L.s." She explained.

Draco nodded quietly, however, his expression still didn't seem pleased. Hunter told herself that she didn't care.

"Oh." Draco answered softly after another moment or so. "Well, that's good for you then." He added, something that Hunter couldn't quite place in his tone.

Hunter hummed and nodded her head in agreement, looking away awkwardly as she realised that Draco was staring at her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked, shifting in her seat awkwardly from the attention. Usually, she would make a joke to ease the tension, but she couldn't bring herself to do that as she looked back and saw all of the raw emotion shining through Draco's eyes.

"Because you're beautiful." Draco answered honestly, no hesitation in his voice. Hunter blushed lightly and snorted quite unattractively while shaking her head in denial.

"Yeah, right. You're just messing with my head." Hunter said, although she desperately hoped that her words weren't true.

"No, I'm not." Draco denied, going on his knees in front of Hunter and since he was so tall, he ended up being the same height as her sitting on the chair.

He gently moved her face to look at him as she had once again looked away when he approached her. "I'm being completely serious, Hunter. I think you're one of - if not the most beautiful girls I've ever seen." True emotion seeping into his words and Hunter couldn't help but believe him, even if she still had her doubts.

"Really?" Hunter whispered hopefully, giving up on the fight that was currently going on in her mind on whether Draco was telling the truth or not. For the moment, it just felt nice to have a boy tell her that he thinks she's pretty.

"Yes," Draco whispered back as he leaned forward a little bit. "And if you let me, I'd like to show you just how beautiful I think you are." He pulled back a little to try and gauge Hunter's thoughts. Something in Hunter's expression must have given her away because while she didn't confirm verbally, Draco still did what her heart wanted him to.

He closed the small distance between them and lightly brushed his lips against hers, simply getting a small taste before fully delving in and kissing Hunter right on the mouth.

It was wonderful, spectacular, exquisite. Hunter couldn't quite find better words to describe something that was truly more amazing than anything she'd ever experienced before. All she knew was that she loved it and she never wanted it to stop.
