Disclaimer: Madara is more soft and vulnerable I would say in this one. So if you have a problem with that you can skip it.
Thank you.

Third POV
The weather was very good today considering the fact that Winter had ended almost 2 weeks ago. This sunny and beautiful day made a lot of people to go out. They were everywhere, walking or sitting as they were minding their businesses. It was amazing how many people could fit in a place like this. It was amazing how they could exist so near to each other, yet live their own life. This was one of the many amazing things that mankind can do.
<Tell me where and I will come.>
A girl texted through her phone with a sweet smile on her lips. She seemed so excited talking to someone through a lifeless device, which gave a lot of life to her soul.
<I told you that you will see me when the time will come.>
A man texted back as he giggled enjoying the excitement that this message was giving him. She always managed to make him happy even when he didn't feel like it. She was his light in a world of darkness. He always admired that about her and wished so much to see her from close as much as she wishes to see him.
<You always say this, yet I haven't see you once out of the screen of my phone.>
The girl answered as a sigh left her lips. She would give everything to see this man even for a minute. She knew that he had his reasons that couldn't come, but her heart wanted so bad to see him and touch him. They knew each other for almost 3 years, however they never got the chance to meet face to face.
<I am sorry, but soon enough you will see me. >
This text gave of hope, but the owner of it wasn't hoping at all. He had lost hope long ago. He knew it, yet he couldn't say anything about it.
<Name a day so you can't avoid it.>
A frown was formed on the man's face as he read that. He was angry. Not with her. He could never get angry at her. He was angry with himself, because he knew that this wasn't possible.
<Very well. How about this Sunday?>
The girl's eyes lighten up when she received this answer. She was more than happy to know that she will finally meet him. Her dream would finally come true in three days. She will finally see the love of her life.
<Yes! At Konoha's square?>
<Yes.>
<Do you promise me to come?>
<I do.>
The man clenched the phone in his hands trying hard not to cry. He hated the fact that he had gave her a promise that he couldn't keep. Yet he did it, because seeing her happy was the only thing he could do right now. The only thing that was keeping him alive.
<Yes! Eventually! I have so many things to do, but first I need to find an outfit!>
The girl texted as her eyes went on her wardrobe. Her mind already searching for the perfect outfit as her heart was beating fast from excitement. She wanted to be perfect for that day. She wanted to finally see him and make him fall in love with her all over again.
She was happy and he was in pain.
~The day before the meeting~
<I was thinking about a casual outfit. What do you think?>
<You can put anything you want as long as you like it.>
The man answered, smiling a little due to how happy she was. If he could, he would turn the time back so he could meet her again. If he could he would have told her sooner what was going on. However, he never managed to bring himself to tell her and never will, because time is never in favor of anyone.
<Fine, but if you don't like it, it's your fault.>
The girl texted as she was preparing the clothes she wanted to wear tomorrow. The day that she always wished to come and finally is here.
<You are always beautiful (Y/n). You are the most beautiful girl I have ever met and you will always be. And the most beautiful thing on you is your smile. I have a lot of photos of you, but I mostly love those that you smile, because that's what was keeping me alive.>
<What do you mean "was keeping you alive"? You are not dying, right?>
The man wanted to tell her so bad what was going on. Now was his chance. It was finally time to tell her. But, he didn't do it.
<I will tomorrow when I will see your beauty from close up.>
<Stupid.>
The girl sighed relieved at that. For a moment she thought that something serious was happening with him, but at the end he was just joking as he always did. She didn't want anything to happen tomorrow. She wanted everything to be perfect. She wanted them to be perfect as they always were. They had the best relationship as a couple and it was time for them to stop having it for a distance. It was time for them to meet.
<Tell me (Y/n), do you believe in afterlife?>
The girl didn't know what to answer. It was such a sudden and out of the blue question. She didn't know where it came from, but she was used to receiving those kind of questions from him. He always had a lot of philosophical thoughts and he always shared them with her. So it was normal by now to receive this kind of questions.
<I am not sure, but I think it exists. I want to believe that it's a place that everyone can be happy and free after years of exhaustion and working here on earth.>
This was more than enough as an answer for the man. It made him smile softly as he was writing his answer to her.
<I believe the same. So if anything happens know that I will meet you there. I will waiting there for you to come so I can finally be with the love of my life for an eternity.>
<Stop talking like you are going to die! Everything will be alright!>
For a moment he believed her. For a moment hope was back to hold his hand as it used to do. However, that feeling left as fast as it came. He knew that this was impossible. He knew that nothing could happen now. He knew that more than anyone.
<Sorry. I just wanted you to know that I love you.>
The girl smiled at this. She knew that he loved her more than anything just like she did. However, she would never get bored of reading or hearing those simple words. They meant everything to her. They made her happy.
<I love you too Madara. Now go to sleep. There's a big day coming up tomorrow!>
<Goodnight my love. See you in your dreams.>
<Why my dreams and not yours?>
<Because. Goodnight now.>
<Goodnight my love.>
The girl closed her phone and got under her blanket ready to fall asleep. She didn't care if she dreamed about him tonight, because she knew that she will see him tomorrow. She knew it, because he had promised her and a man like him always keeps his promise.
On the other hand, Madara didn't fall asleep. He stared at his phone looking at a picture of the girl that he loved more than anything. He couldn't hold himself back this time. Tears were falling from his eyes. He wanted to wipe them, but he was so weak to do anything. So he just let himself cry and cry until he had no more tears to shed.
He didn't know what else to do. He was hopeless from the beginning. He couldn't change fate, but if he could he would have never met her so he wouldn't need to go through all of this pain and sadness. If he could he would have ended everything sooner just for her to have the chance to fall for someone better.
-"Mister Uchiha." a nurce said as she entered his hospital room.
-"It's time to get you ready for your surgery."
He just looked at her and nodded. He couldn't talk. He had lost that ability long ago. So for the last 6 months the only thing he could do to communicate with others was to write on paper. However, right now he didn't have any power to do it. He was feeling really weak. He could barely write to (Y/n) through his phone until a few minutes ago and right now he somehow found it hard to even do this.
-"Smile Madara. Everything is going to be alright." he heard his father's voice making him look at him.
Madara didn't do anything. He just stared at him as the nurses were getting him ready and soon enough started pushing his bed to the surgery room. He knew that he couldn't survive this, yet everyone around him had hopes. They were hoping for him, something that he can't do and never will, because time is a precious thing and he has no more of it.
~The day of the meeting~
(Y/n) was patiently waiting at Konoha's squad for Madara to come. He was a little late, but she didn't care. She wanted so bad to see him that time didn't matter to her anymore, because once her eyes meets his she will be where she belongs to be.
-"Excuse me miss."
A voice said to her making her turn to that direction. A man around his 50s with a sad and helpless look in his eyes in a black suit was standing there looking at her. For a moment she saw Madara in him, but that was impossible since her lover was much younger.
-"I was told to give you this." he said as he gave her a letter.
-"Have a nice day."
Once she took the letter in her hands the man started walking away and soon enough disappeared through the crowd. Her eyes went on the letter and without a second though she opened it. She took out the letter and started reading it.
......
Hello my love,
I didn't want things to end up like that, but seems like it's too late to go back. First I want to apologize for everything. For all the lies, for all the fake texts full of hope that I have send you. I want you to know that it wasn't my intention to hurt you,but I couldn't see you sad and cry.
I want you to know that I truly love you and I would do anything to turn back in time and change everything, but unfortunately I can't. However, I can eventually tell you the truth. You deserve it after all. You deserve it more than anyone.
All this time, from the time you met me until now, I was in a hospital room fighting cancer. At first I told you that I had some health problems and you got so worried and sad about me that was breaking me. So I just told you that I got well and left, however that never happened. My situation got worse. I got through a lot of surgeries hoping that I will get better, but every time I came out weaker. All of this had drained me and I would have ended things sooner, but I had you keeping me in life. You were my light, my hope, the reason of why I kept fighting. You were my everything. So please forgive me for not being able to keep our promise and coming to see you. I wish I could. I really do! However, if you received this letter it means that the surgery I had last night was unsuccessful. They had warned me, but I wanted to try. I wanted to give us a chance to finally be together. Yet, this never happened. I will leave my family's number at the back of the letter so you can call them and ask them about my funeral. I didn't have the chance to see you, but maybe you can see me there.
I will be waiting for you in the afterlife, my sweet angel. Don't rush to find me. I will wait for you. I will, because at the end I never regretted meeting you and loving you more than anything.
Postscript:
Please don't cry.
A smile suits you more.
Your lover, Madara Uchiha.
.......
Things happened so suddenly. She didn't know what to do, how to react. All of that was too much. All of that was destroying her. And soon enough she was on the ground crying. She cried a lot at the middle of the square. There that many people were looking at her confused and were trying to help her, but no one could take the pain that she felt out of her chest. She had lost everything. She had lost her world, her life, the reason she woke up every morning. She was lost and broken.
She was alone.
"Please come back!"
....
The end.
