73- Nature Out of Hiding

Hritika and Neer were talking things out when she noticed the patrol guards moving around in a frenzy. Smelling her nearby, two of them came running towards her.

"Gamma, a huge problem has occurred, and we aren't able to mindlink the Alpha and Beta. Your phone wasn't going through either" one of them informed her, looking relieved to have finally found one of the leaders.

Hritika immediately took out her phone from her pocket to check. Her eyebrows raised upon seeing so many miscalls.

"Sorry about that, I didn't realize my phone was on silent. I should have been more careful, especially when Alpha and Beta are out of the pack," Hritika apologized.

The guards looked at each other in alarm. And their looks made Hritika nervous as well.

"Have the rogues entered the pack?" Hritika asked, while her fingers moving fast to dial the numbers of pack warriors.

"Rogues?" Neer questioned, unfamiliar with the term.

"Bad wolves," Hritika answered simply, not giving out a lengthy explanation about the various categories as they didn't have time.

"Fortunately No," one of the guards answered, thanking the Moon Goddess that situation wasn't that bad, before informing Hritika, "It's just we smelled some pesky huma—"

The other guard immediately elbowed him, before he could complete the sentence. He subtly pointed towards Hritika to remind him that their Gamma was also a human. And such words could bring trouble.

Hritika rolled her eyes at their exchange, before asking them about the details.

"They must have gotten lost. Don't worry, I will deal with them," Hritika assured them, asking them to leave, before ordering, "Ask the pack members to not shift into their wolf forms until I drive those humans away."

Hritika was about to leave when Neer pulled her back, looking tense. She first looked confused at his actions but smiled when she realized he was just worried for her.

"Neer, chill. There's nothing to worry about. I will just let them know that this is a private property and they are trespassing. They would leave on their own."

"It's not that simple. Because there's no way a human can come here by mistake," Neer said, looking tense.

"What?"

"Hritika, the main reason we chose to hide here was that humans don't come this deep in the forest," Neer informed her.

"You mean...," Hritika trailed off, understanding that the humans out there had come here on purpose.

"Neer, you need to hide. Inform other elements too. Don't come out until the humans leave the place," Hritika said, worried that despite proving their innocence, someone was still out to hurt them.

"Neer, hurry. They might be here to capture you all and experiment on you," she urged, almost pushing him when he didn't move to leave.

"Don't worry about me and leave. I will handle it with the help of werewolves," she tried again, getting scared for him.

Neer sighed, putting his hands on her shoulders to stop her frenzied movements.

"Hritika, if we are in danger then the whole pack is too. You think they will leave the chance to experiment on the species who is physically so strong and can shift into an animal on their will.

"They already know about us, but werewolves are still a secret to the human kind. Let's not put the pack, heck even the entire species in danger."

"Shit!" Hritika clutched her hair, understanding Neer's point, but not knowing what to do in the situation.

"I will call the elements. We will deal with the humans, while you go back to check on the entire pack."

"But—"

"No buts Hritika. As a Gamma, protecting the pack is your first duty. And don't worry about us. When we five are together and alert about the danger, no one can hurt us. We will be okay, Go."

Hritika didn't want to, but nevertheless did what Neer asked her to. In the absence of Alpha and Beta, the pack was her responsibility.

"Come back safe," she whispered, before running back and making calls to gather everyone.

The elements went there puffed up, ready to fight, not knowing that they were going to burst into tears upon facing the so-called intruders.

There they were, the ones who believed them, who helped them, who stood by them until the very end.

Ravi and the kids of researchers'

"How?" The elements muttered in shock.

"Just because you had given up on your loved ones, albeit for our good lives. It doesn't mean we would give up on you all too," Ravi said to all, but kept looking at Sameera.

Their eyes held so much pain, guilt, remorse and most importantly the love for each other. Just looking at each other's eyes they apologized and forgive each other.

Avan, all but ran towards Ayaan, hugging him for his life. Ayaan too hugged him back just as fiercely. However, he grew concerned when Avan started crying loudly. Ayaan's eyes moved towards other elements in question while still holding his brother.

"Don't worry. He is just letting out his feelings that had been buried for so long. He is going to be okay," Ahana assured Ayaan.

"Did Hritika tell you that we were alive?" Neer questioned, thinking that was the only possible way when the whole human world thought they were dead.

"How did you all find us?" Gyaan asked, adding onto Neer's question, before they could answer.

The kids glanced at each other with a smirk before looking at the elements.

"The trees told us about you being alive," Dhruv said.

"The wind pulled us towards the forest," Ayaan said.

"The sunlight showed us the correct direction," Sarah said.

"And the essence of the waterfall let us know that we were at the correct place," Tejas said.

"Following the hints that nature gave us, we finally managed to reach you all," Rewa finished with a bright smile.

"No....way..." Ahana muttered, understanding the indirect meaning behind their sentences.

"How is that possible?" Gyaan asked, shocked as hell.

"Why can't it be possible? Are nature and its elements your personal property?" Sarah snorted, "Do you have a patent on powers that cannot be rendered to anyone else?"

Rewa slapped her arm, before answering the elements properly in a much polite tone.

"Nature probably understood that he needed new maintenence guys for human world, because the previous ones were wronged and would probably never come back to the human world again."

"Nature didn't have any other choice than to make a second batch," Dhruv said with a chuckle, before bouncing over to Avan, his hands raised for a high-five.

"I have the same power as you," he cheered, making Avan finally smile between his tears.

Everyone else chuckled too, looking at the happiness of little kids.

"You were always my inspiration. Always wanted to become like you. I didn't know that my dream would literally come true," Sarah said, coming near Ahana.

"A fire elemental, suits your personality," Ahana said, nodding in appreciation.

"Who is the peacemaker amongst you?" Ahana asked, curious to know who was going to take Gyaan's role.

"Who else other than the smartest person of the bunch?" Sarah said with a roll of her eyes, pointing towards Rewa.

"Ah! Makes sense," Ahana nodded.

"Tejas is a water elemental. The cool and kind one," Sarah informed Ahana on her own.

"Looks like this time Fire and Water are going to be a couple instead of siblings," Ahana commented, noticing the look in Sarah's eyes.

"Don't tell him," Sarah pleaded in a whisper. It was a secret she was going to take to her grave.

"And I am an air elemental," Ayaan piped up, earning everyone's attention. He turned towards Avan with an excited smile, "I will fly to meet you every now and then. How cool is that?"

"You will go back to human world," Avan whispered, looking scared. "Don't go. They will hurt you," he pleaded to his brother, clutching him tightly.

Sameera too looked at Ravi in shock. She didn't want to part with him again.

"I am not going. Anyways, I used to work from home. So it wouldn't matter where I live," Ravi assured Sameera, before dropping the bomb, "but the kids need to go. They have their entire life there."

"But it is dangerous out there," Avan protested. "Ayaan, it is good here. We all can stay together. Rewa Didi, it is more safe here," he later pleaded to Rewa, knowing she could change everyone else's mind.

"We aren't going to hide," Sarah said sternly, before Ayaan and Rewa could cave in.

"Nature has done hiding. Now it will live fearlessly in the open as it was meant to be. Either they can live alongside us peacefully or will overpower them. We have to stop being scared of those pesky losers."

Seeing the raised eyebrows of previous elements', Ravi explained what they were going to do.

"We are going to make a point that they all will remember forever. We are going to show that by 'killing' the previous elements, they forced Nature to create new stronger ones. With every group of elements they kill, new ones will keep coming. And if they went on harassing the new sets of elements then by the end, Nature will create such demons that will swallow them as a whole."

"Stronger ones?" Neer and Ahana asked in unison.

"Yeah." Rewa nodded. "We have better immunity than you all. Plus we have great mentors too. Unlike you all, who had to go through trial and error to learn about your powers, we have mentors who will guide us."

"Mentors? Who?" Ahana asked, confused.

"Stupid, they are talking about us," Gyaan said with a chuckle, earning a glare from Ahana for calling her stupid.

"We will make it so that nature doesn't ever need to go into hiding again," Ayaan said with determination, having promised himself that what happened to his brother would never ever happen again.

"But that doesn't mean you all have to come with us," Tejas said, when he noticed the uncomfortable look on the faces of elements. "We know you have created your new world here. No one is going to force you to come to the human world."

The elements sighed in relief. Even Avan. He was sad to leave his brother, but he really wanted to stay at the place that had accepted him for him.

"But make sure that you only stay in the werewolf world because you want to. And not because you need to hide," Sarah added in a stern tone.

"Looks like the days of hiding are over," Gyaan commented.

The kids' snorted at his comment, before asking the question that shook them all. Something they hadn't realized until now.

"How can Nature go into hiding when it is present in every nook and corner of the universe?"
