Ella’s POV

It’s been a month since I found everything out. Since life walked up to me and gave me a huge slap in the face. I lost my boyfriend, my job and my best friend. Since I found out that Conor and my best friend had become very friendly during the time me and him were dating. And to this day things are still in the gossiping media. I fall out of bed and shuffle to the living room, slumping on the sofa and switching the TV on. I’m not listening to it, or watching it, but I like the background noise. The 1D boys had left two days after I spent the night with Liam, and the silence in the flat is scary. Usually you’d hear them playing pranks on each other, or singing, or chatting with each other but now I hear nothing… Jake’s been out working most days, he got a job as a builder while he’s staying here. As I said before, he wanted to make something of himself now he’s back in the town where it all happened. He’s done well for himself, I’m proud of him. I must admit though, no matter what I think about, he’s always in my head… I need him. I can’t believe I’ve loved him for so long, never told him and now he’s stuck with some other woman who I hate only for that reason… I try and keep Conor out of my head, he was going to be another Jake – but not now… To be honest, this last month has been a mess. I’ve been drinking most nights; partially cos Harry ordered so many boxes and we partied every night, but after they’d left it was just cos I could. It seemed to make the days pass quicker, take my mind off of things. Jake was getting annoyed though, every day he was coming back to me being drunk and trying to make sure I was ok; and every day I would cry on his shoulder and say how bad my life was.

“And here is Gossip Corner with me, Jade. For those who are fans of Conor Maynard, you may be happy, or sad, to hear that him and his new girlfriend, Hannah, are on a break. We at GC have heard from sources that over the past month Conor has been distracted and distant, leaving Hannah to think something is going on behind her back. Well she won’t be pleased to see these images that are going viral of Ella, Conor’s ex-bodyguard, meeting him for dinner yesterday at Nandos. She didn’t want to make a statement to us. It was obvious however that she hadn’t forgotten her job as she held back screaming fans. The most juicy gossip has been kept secret but we can reveal this picture of Ella and Conor going back to his house!  So is it back on between them? How will the boys of 1D feel? Especially Zayn, who she’s been caught on camera with more than a few times!! That is all for me , Jade, and GC. See you in a few.”

Great. I really tried to keep that quiet. No one knew about that apart from me and Conor. See, after the 1D boys went and Jake was at work, ignoring Conor seemed pointless; this would have been the only time I could talk to him without interruptions from anyone. I spoke with him for hours and it felt like nothing was wrong. It was awkward at the beginning, but he opened up to me, he explained everything and I couldn’t hate him any more… I wasn’t there for him when he needed me, and the only other woman who wasn’t his friend for his fame was Hannah. Now Hannah on the other hand is a massive bitch. She should have left him alone. Anyway, we spoke for hours and everything began to fit into place, I explained the 1D boys just wanted to make him jealous and explained my way through the images that happened on the night out. We ended up laughing and joking as if it were another night of us together. Call me a fool but I couldn’t see a problem with meeting up with him for a meal! So I went, and as soon as we got there; the mobs came, the screaming girls, the haters, the girls who loved me.

“Ah please get back together I love you two!” One would shout.

“Conor, she’s no good for you, go back with Hannah!” Another would counter.

“Conor I love you!” Most would shout. I couldn’t care less what anyone was saying.

“Conor, I don’t know if this was the best place to come!” I said, laughing off the hate comments. He just smiled. That smile was the best thing I’d seen in a long time. God I really did love him. We spoke whilst eating, but the fans became too much, with me having to protect him like I used to, so he suggested we go back to his house. I knew what he meant. He had a few places around that were places he rented out, so if the paps ever caught him going to these places and the fans mobbed it, he wouldn’t be there. It was clever, I had to admit! We got into his house, and before we know it screams are echoing around it. It was ridiculous. How can celebrities put up with it? I’d go crazy and tell them all to go away. We spent the whole night together, talking and looking back. It was crazy. We had a bottle of wine, a takeaway and watched a few films – my perfect night. Admittedly things got heated that night, but that’s not to expose to anyone. My phone rings.

“Hello?” I say happily.

“You saw Conor?” it was Jake. He didn’t sound happy.

“Yeah. Why not? Got nothing else to do with my time!” I say bluntly. “What does it matter to you anyway?”

“Me and the boys tried to cheer you up and get you over him! He’s an idiot and you’ll only get used again!” he sounded annoyed.

“You can tell me that when it goes wrong, not before. I’m old enough to make my own decisions; whether they’re right or wrong!” I say. The phone hangs up seconds later. My phone rings again.

“WHAT?” I shout without looking at the caller ID.

“Woah! Ella, you alright?” It was Conor.

“Shit, Conor, sorry! I just saw the news on us…” I lied. “It annoyed me how much they made of one picture!”

“I know. I think I’m gonna have to come clean though. I only told the news I was on a break but I broke up with Hannah last week…”

“You did?” I question.

“Yeah. She was a useless woman… Not girlfriend material at all… And I mean…” the conversation was stopped suddenly and all I heard was silence.

“Conor? Con? Hun what’s happened?” I asked scared.

“Channel 412” he mumbled. I grabbed the remote and turned it over to channel 412. It was the Gossip Corner’s main channel. It was on an advert break at the moment.

“Conor, don’t watch those stupid channels. You know that’s the advice everyone gives you… Its all full of crap and…” I pause instantly, just like Conor had done seconds ago. I couldn’t believe my eyes. There was Hannah. The bitch was giving a live interview with Jade (the annoying host) about her relationship with Conor. I shook my head and turned it up. “Still on the phone hun, but I’m gonna listen to what she’s saying. Ok?” he didn’t answer cos I know he was already listening.

“Yeah it doesn’t seem like me and Conor were going out for that long but to me it was good, well most of the time...” She began, but put a sad face on. “Conor and I had hit it off from the first day we met and we kissed. From then on he was with me any time he was away from the job. I had to keep it quiet from Ella, who is my best friend and it was really difficult. Conor actually scared me sometimes when I’d say I had to come clean… At times I thought he was going to hit me… I ended up not talking to Ella at all so I wouldn’t feel bad, cos she was dating him at this point. When his manager fired Ella and said Conor couldn’t see her, I was kinda relieved cos we could come clean and say we were dating and be seen in public together. We spent every night together then and I helped mend his broken heart. It was so romantic. Then one day he rang Ella up and confessed everything. It all went tits up. A few days later he was talking to her again… I knew something bad was happening so I broke up with him. He turned violent again then but I left before anything bad happened.” I was fuming, I could tell by the silence on the phone Conor was too. How could she jump on the bandwagon of dating for fame? She’ll release her story to anyone with a big price tag. Gossip about me and Conor and maybe even 1D will be spread around forever.

“Well, we have a few things to show you here” Jade began. She pointed over to a screen and the image of me and Conor yesterday at Nandos. “Here is an image taken yesterday of Conor and Ella out for a meal, and following that a picture of him and her going back to his house. What do you think of these?” I could see Hannah’s face drop, but I was more interested in what she was going to say.

“I had a feeling his distance was because of her. I think he misses the security and the friendliness. To be honest I’d only hope she isn’t going to get back with him cos I wanna fix our relationship… But she’s stupid, and she’ll get back with him…” Hannah shakes her head.

“Are you not worried for her safety after saying Conor was violent?” Jade questions crossing one leg over the other.

“Well, I must say I would be if I knew she couldn’t handle herself, but I know if Conor hit her she’d hit him into next week…” She laughed. “So I’m confident she’ll be ok.”

“Well that’s it for today! Thank you Hannah. That’s been Hannah, I’ve been Jade and this has been Gossip Corner, where the news gets to you before it gets anywhere else! Remember, you saw her here first!” Jade winks at the camera and it goes onto an advert break.

“Conor?” I simply ask.

“H-H-How could she say that? I’ve not been violent! And I broke up with her!” I could hear Conor’s voice breaking and so was my heart.

“Don’t worry Conor, what goes around comes around…” I say confidently. I needed to sort this out, but I’d need some help…
