Sunlight peered in through Teghan's bedroom window, and, hugging the pillow, I noticed that my two heaters (Teghan and Savannah) weren't asleep next to me.

Huh.

That's weird.

Whatever, they're probably eating breakfast or taking my dumb talking dog for a walk. I'll text Savannah later.

I snuggled up to Teghan's stuffed penguin, Kiwi or Dominic or whatever it's called, bundling the blanket around me, a kind voice echoing through my ears, telling me to go back to sleep.

"Tiny Human! Hey, Tiny Human! WAKE UP, TINY HUMAN! I COMMAND YOU TO WAKE UP YOU LITTLE SH-!"

Okay then. That's definitely not a kind voice telling me to sleep.

Sitting up, I looked around, trying to find the source of the voice.

"Finally! The Tiny Human wakes up. Now I can eat food, get pets, and tell her that Newt and that idiot dog ran after those two weird teenagers."

I looked down and almost fainted.

"What're you looking at?!" KiKi demanded, glaring daggers at me with her cat eyes.

"You can talk?"

"DUH! I think it was those berries that splattered all over me when those idiots threw their trash at me last night. I did lick them out of my fur while watching you sleep." She explained. "I'm glad that Teghan and her cousin saved my beautiful fur from being destroyed before they got taken by that van."

"Um, okay, but- wait, what?!" I gaped at the sassy feline.

Teghan and Savannah were kidnapped?!

"What?!"

"You just said that,"

"I know, but WHAT?!"

"Yeah, two guys drove off with them. Newt and MoMo, too, but I couldn't care less about them."

Grabbing my phone, I rushed outside, where Aunt Laurie and Uncle Toad (Teghan's dad) were standing in their yard talking to the cops.

"My daughter and niece are missing, Officer! Please! I will not rest until you find them!"

"We're doing everything we can, ma'am. You said your dog was missing too?"

"My dog," I corrected. Aunt Laurie turned.

"Sophia! I didn't know you were awake! Er, everything is fine, no need to-"

"My sistersmissing? And Teghan?"

Aunt Laurie sighed in defeat, "Yes..."

The cop put a hand on my shoulder.

"Might I ask you a few questions? We found this near the house across the street. It was robbed last night. Does it belong to your sister, and does this belong to Teghan?" He handed me a few items. "Oh, and we found these near Evergreen Park."

I took the items.

Teghan flower ring. Savannah's ear buds.

And MoMo's collar.

Dropping the items, I backed into the house and ran into Teghan's room, slamming the door behind me and crying into Teghan's fluffy pillows.

An hour or two later, the tears stopped.

"And I thought you'd never stop! By the way, little miss terry-eyed, you that you got a missed call from 'TB'." KiKi exclaimed next to me, nudging my phone towards me with her nose. "And yes, I can read. I'm not dumb,"

I sniffed, staring down at my phone in shock. "But that's- that's Teghan!" I exclaimed, snatching up the phone and

"Sophia! " A familiar voice whispered.

Teghan!

"Me and Savannah have been kidnapped! No, this is not a prank, the police have probably already begun to investigate my street. Anyway, Newt and MoMo have new powers! MoMo can turn invisible and Newt has Telekinesis! But the guys who kidnapped us- Jeff and Bob (which are stupid names, by the way)- kicked them out onto the streets when they put up a fight!"

"Don't forget to tell her that MoMo and Newt have superpowers!

"I already did, Sav. We need your help, Phee! We're parked at a Walmart just outside Silverdale, I think. Call the cops and tell them where we are! We might be heading to Astoria, Oregon, if I heard Jeff right. That's where the Goonies was filmed!"

"Hurry, Phee! " Savannah's frantic voice shouted.

"We're counting on you! Please tell the authorities and don't come after- AGH!" Teghan suddenly screamed.

"Hey! " An unfamiliar voice screamed at them. "What do you thing you're doing?!"

Teghan screamed again.

"Phee! Help us! " Savannah shouted before her voice was muffled.

"Turn that off!" A new voice growled.

That's when the voicemail ended.

KiKi stared at me.

"You have to help them, you know."

"What?!"

"Hey, I may be a bitch, but I'm not careless. I care for those girls, even though I may not exactly show it." KiKi suggested.

Blinking, I straightened up, wiping tears from my eyes and putting on a brave face.

"Your right, KiKi-"

"I am?! Oh- of course I am! I'm always right, you know."

"-I can do this."

"We can do this, Tiny Human. Together. And I mean it. Also, I just discovered that I can sort-of run really fast, and you're gonna get nowhere in those heels, sister."

I ignored the last thing she said. "Then let's do this! Newt and MoMo are out in the streets, somewhere near Evergreen Park- and we're going to find them. Then we'll save Teghan and Savannah and stop these nasty criminals!"

That night, me and KiKI set out to start an adventure that would change our lives forever...

...and maybe even end them.

Okay, that last sentence was a little dark. Let me rephrase that...

...and save Newt's.

Uh. Let me try again...

...and begin a new era of superheroes.

Now, that's just silly.

...and save my family.

That's more like it!

Newt and MoMo will return sooon!
