Chapter Three: I Believe The Teghan Pronunciation Is 'Holy Hogwarts'

~Newt~

I clawed at the back door, still hungry even after my nap in the sun and eating that strange berry.

"Trying to get in, Scamander?" A voice behind me purred.

I turned, and- just as I had expected- KiKi was sitting on a lawn chair, grinning her devilish cat grin.

"I thought I smelled idiot," I smirked.

Ignoring my little comment, KiKi jumped down from the lawn chair and strutted over.

"Move aside and I'll show you how a real cat does it," KiKi pushed me aside, standing on her hind legs and putting her hands in the air, about to knock on the door.

Suddenly, I saw movement out of the corner of my eye, familiar pineapple flip flops appearing from the other side of the glass door.

I laugh-purred as KiKi pitched forward right before the door slid open, causing the graceful tortoise shell to fall flat on her face.

"Hmmm," I snickered, "I thought cats always land on their feet?"

KiKi glared, standing up and throwing her nose in the air and stunting inside.

"Dinner!" PJ said, crushing my ribs again before feeding us.

I ate fast, wanting to go 'help' Teghan with her writing. She's a little idea-less without me, you know?

I carefully made my way down the hall, passing KiKi on my way to Teghan's room.

"Your doing it wrong again, Scamander."

"Shut up, Loki."

Before KiKi could process what I had said, I had already bolted down the hall and slid into Teghan's room.

As usual, she was on her computer, no doubt writing again.

"Hey, Newt," She said without even taking her eyes off of her computer.

I meowed in response, jumping onto a stack of her notes and drawings on her desk.

"Newt, I need one of your weird ideas. I know you can't talk, but, could you try something?"

I nodded, knowing I would probably have to step on her keyboard because I suck at pantomiming.

"I seriously don't know what to do for the next chapter of my Spiderverse fanfiction. What do you think?"

I thought for a moment, the years of listening to Teghan's inner fangirl and reading over her shoulder rushing through my head.

"You could try a rooftop chase." I calmly suggested, getting ready to roll across the keyboard.

"That's perfect! Then Dark Wasp can-" Teghan suddenly froze, eyes wide.

"Teghan? Earth to Teghan? HELLO?!" I waved my tiny paw in front of her frozen features, but she didn't move. I sighed, the only solution instantly coming to mind.

"HARRY POTTER IS RIGHT NEXT TO YOU!" I screamed (well, like a cat anyway).

"What, where?" Teghan snapped out of it, looking around.

I innerly facepalmed.

Than I realized something...

Did Teghan just... hear what I said?

No, no- I must be hallucinating.

"Wait just a sec," Teghan stared at me. "Did you just talk? Like, talk talk?!"

I blinked. "What do you mean? I've always been able to- oh."

Now I'm confused.

Teghan can understand me?

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!

My thoughts were suddenly interrupted as Teghan's eyes grew bigger then saucers.

"HOLY SH-!"

"I believe the Teghan pronunciation is 'Holy Hogwarts', not 'Holy Shakespeare.'"

Teghan stared at me for a few seconds before laughing nervously, her left eye twitching uncontrollably (and creepily).

"My cuddly kitty can talk," She said, running a hand through her curly brown-blond hair nervously, "Why am I freaking out? I should be happy. WHY?! "

"Maybe it's because your not used to hearing my clever ideas, adorable voice, and claw-ver puns?" I wondered aloud, shrugging my furry cat shoulders.

"Oh my gods," Teghan giggled. "I have my own personal pun-making Cat Noir!"

That's when Teghan pitched forward and face planted onto her keyboard.

"Welp, that could've gone better."
