Your First Date/First Kiss-Kai
A/N
(Y/N) is your name
(L/N) is your last name
(H/C) means hair color
BF/N is your best friend
Above is your outfit. The hair is just the style, not necessarily the color. The necklace is the one your mother gave you before she passed away and your grandmother gave it to her. Enjoy :-))
"Yes! No homework!" I squealed as I ran into my apartment after a long day of school.
I flipped onto my bed and smiled to the ceiling just as my phone started ringing. I pulled it out of my pocket and turned onto my elbows with the phone pressed to my ear.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hey Y/N."
I recognized the voice but since I was in a fun mood, I decided to impersonate Harry Potter. "Who is (Y/N)? This is Harry Potter."
"Then I'm Ron. What are you up to tonight?"
He killed it. Buzzkill...
"Just fantasizing that I have no homework."
"Would you like to go out tonight?"
"Like a date?"
"Like a first date." he corrected.
I smiled and chuckled at his precision. "I would love to."
"Great. Can I pick you up at 7?"
"You sure can."
"Alright. Dress nice my fair princess."
"I will my fair prince."
The call ended and I shouted in victory not even caring about disturbing my neighbors.
"Yes!"
I heard some loud laughter from across the hall and Mr. Gates below me. A knock on my door disturbed some of my thinking. Either it was Mrs. T, or BF/N. My guess was BF/N. I met BF/N a few weeks ago in my second semester art class.
She shares the same interests as me and we get along great. I gave her my apartment code number because we do a lot of projects together.
I looked through the peephole, BF/N and Mrs. T. I opened the door and welcomed them in.
"Why are you so excited?" Mrs. T asked.
"Kai just asked me to a date."
"That is great news."
"Oh my gosh! We have to do your makeup!"
"I knew you would say that." I cringed.
"Where is he taking you?" Mrs. T asked me.
"He didn't say. He just told me to dress nice."
"Well I am going to leave you two. I am going out with everyone in the building to see your grandmother. We won't be back till late tonight. Enjoy your date."
"Thanks. Have fun and tell her I said hi."
"No problem."
Mrs. T left the room to leave me with BF/N. I widened my eyes as she grinned while looking at the makeup palette.
"Knock yourself out." I told her.
I had an hour till my date. "First off. You need a dress." she ordered, leaning against my desk.
"I got you." I told her.
I opened up the walk-in closet hidden behind my bed. I walked inside past all of my occupied coat hangers and slid one dress in particular down. A red long sleeve skater dress. Plain and simple. But cute.
"With that dress, you need boots." BF/N told me.
She entered my closet until she found the shoes she was looking for. Black ankle boots with a wedge and laces. I smiled at her choice.
We exited my closet and shut my double doors. "Hair?" I asked.
"Curled. Your H/C hair will look nice that way."
"Cool. Makeup?"
"Thick mascara and gold shadow."
"Better get started. You have an hour."
"You can't rush perfection."
"I sure can when my date is coming at 7."
"Oh shutup and sit."
I sat in the stool in front of my vanity. I earned enough money to buy a vanity, desk chair, stool, desk, and more art supplies.
BF/N heated the curling iron and began curling each small chunk of hair. After she was done with that, she started with the black eyeliner and gold eye shadow. Then the thick black mascara.
"Mua-lah. Put on your dress and shoes. You have fifteen minutes and guys usually pick up early."
I shuffled to the bathroom and carefully pulled my dress over my head. I laced up the boots and smiled at my reflection.
I opened the door and let BF/N see. "You look amazing!" she squealed, clapping her hands together.
"Well thanks." I shrugged, trying to play it cool.
"Kai is going to love it."
"If he likes me just for my looks then he can forget about me."
"I'm guessing this is your first date?"
"Um, no. I just think most guys are lame."
"Well said. Anyway, I better boot it before Kai gets here."
"Thanks for helping."
"No problem. It's my job."
BF/N left the room and I stared at my relfection. I fliddled with my necklace from my mom and smiled at myself. I sighed, replaying the words Kai said to me when he asked me out, 'I couldn't ask for your dad's blessing...'
"They would be proud of you." someone said. I whipped around, almost chucking a glass bottle at this dude.
The person was Kai and I could tell by the hedgehog hair.
He smiled up and left me wondering how he got in because I didn't give him a key or code. He's a ninja, he probably used the fire escape.
My eyes widened, still processing how he got in here. I shrugged it off and walked closer to him, "Woah-- I mean woah. You look- hot!"
"Thanks. You don't look too bad yourself." I chuckled.
Kai was in a black suit with red tie. "No seriously. You look hot. And that's coming from the fire ninja." he admired.
"You're certainly on fire." I told him with a smirk.
"Should we get going?"
"Should you tell me where we're going?"
"It's a surprise, princess."
I groaned. I hate surprises.
Kai took a bandanna out of his pocket and stepped forward. I narrowed my eyebrows and stood still, not wanting to move, "Just sit tight and hold my hand." he whispered in my ear.
I grabbed his hand and squeezed it as if my life depended on it. Which it does. I heard him open the door and grab the keys off my nightstand. The door closed and Kai lead me carefully down the stairs and out the front door.
"We walking?"
"We're taking my motorcycle."
"In a dress? Where exactly are we going?"
"I'm not telling you." he replied.
He sat me on a leather seat and placed a helmet on my head. I felt him climb on and I quickly wrapped my hands around his waist. The motor started and we zoomed off past streets.
After a ten minute ride of silence and darkness, Kai pulled to a stop and pulled off my helmet. He smoothed down my hair and helped me off the bike.
"Alright." he said.
He untied the blind fold and let me breathe it in.
We were in the front of the art studio downtown. It was extremely hard to get your art inside and very expensive to buy a ticket to a show.
"What are we doing here?" I asked while trying to hold in my excitement.
"We're here for the art show. I wanted to show you that you need to go to art school."
"So a lesson in the form of a date?" I laughed.
"Exactly."
"How could you afford these tickets?"
"That's another surprise you'll find out once we're inside."
"I hate surprises." I groaned.
"Not this one. I promise."
He offered me his hand and I accepted it. We walked into the art studio as the youngest there.
"Ah. Our final guests have arrived. Please, the show is this way." the man at the desk said. He lead us past three hallways and pushed open a door. He closed it softly after we were inside.
"Feel free to explore the pieces. Our artists have worked very hard." an older man directed.
Kai took the lead and showed me around the studio. It has always been my dream to place a piece here.
"That one. That's my favorite." I pointed out.
Kai and I stopped the absorb the painting. It was a landscape. A green grove of simple oak trees. Three families were enjoying a picnic on one blanket. The children were enjoying a quick game of tag while the parents soaked in their children's happiness.
Kai nodded and we continued observing the artwork. Until one in particular caught my attention. "Kai wait." I tugged his arm and he slowed to a stop.
"Yes?"
"That one there. I--"
"You painted it."
"But how--"
"I showed it to the director and he immediately fell in love with it."
"The director! Kai! Your amazing!"
I jumped into a hug and squeezed him tight. I heard lots of applause from behind me and when I turned around, the director stood with many citizens. All taking pictures of Kai and I.
I laughed and looked back at my showcase. An aerial portrait of Ninjago City. "Ladies and Gentlemen, (Y/N) (L/N) of Ninjago City. She at 17, had painted this master piece." the director announced.
My cheeks turned red and I smiled and waved to the crowd. They all hollered and clapped. I stepped back to appreciate the painting.
An hour and a half after observing the paintings, Kai and I left. But with a lot more popularity. "That was great." I told him as we climbed onto his bike.
He handed me the helmet and I sat down. "Glad you had fun." he warmly said.
"The most."
Kai laughed and started the bike. We drove the ten minutes back to my apartment which the building was now vacant.
Everyone was with my grandma. Probably playing bingo, typical. We entered my building and Kai walked me up which was nice.
I unlocked my door and pushed it open. I tossed the keys onto the bed and stepped inside.
Kai pressed the door shut which was slightly odd.
I thought the date was over. I mean, wasn't it?
I turned around to face him and he grabbed my hand and pinned me to the wall. He pressed his finger against my lips and soothed me with his words.
"This date isn't over." he whispered.
He pressed a hand above my head on the wall and moved his lips closer to mine. He pressed his lips to mine, melting into it. I deepened the kiss and unpinned Kai's arms from the wall. I grabbed a hold of his shirt and pulled him closer to me. Kai's hands slithered around my waist keeping me close.
We let go and I had a smirk on my face. "See you later princess."
"Yeah, no doubt." I chuckled. Kai smiled and opened the door. He walked out leaving me in a trance.
