Nine
The wind blew in Yoongi's hair, pushing it back. He had no training wheels as he jumped on Taehyung's back and told him to just go for it— to run like crazy. Taehyung flew through the meadow, and though the grass was mostly dead and the air was cold against Yoongi's burning nose, it was fun to witness such fast speed as they just went at it so freely.
It kind of made him laugh, the fact that Taehyung had once again pulled Yoongi from the roof of his house and took him to another one of his favorite spots. A meadow wasn't something that Yoongi was expecting, but it was quite nice and enjoyable. He could imagine that during the spring, the grass is probably pretty with flowers blooming, and the air is warmer, the sky clear and the sun shining. It was hard to keep up with the view considering Taehyung was running so fast.
Yoongi figured that this is what it feels like to stick your head out of a limousine— except he can't hold his arms in the air, and it's much colder, much faster than what the vehicle would probably be going right now, and they wouldn't be in the meadow. Either way, it was a nice comparison.
Taehyung sprinted to the middle of the wide grassland and suddenly stopped, both of them falling to the lifeless grass. Yoongi laughed to himself as he fell to the ground, cherishing how full of life he felt. He didn't even realize that Taehyung was laughing as well until he turned to look at him, seeing the vampire cover his face with his arm as he did so.
"That's so fun," Yoongi said.
Taehyung nodded his arm away as he looked back at Yoongi. "Think I should join the track team?" he asked. Yoongi laughed at that, his gums fully out and stomach full of nothing but energy, warmth, butterflies— something.
"You'd do great."
He looked up at the cloudy sky as he pulled the hoodie from his black jacket over his head, trying to warm up his ears. Taehyung leaned up from the grass and turned to look down at Yoongi. As Yoongi was pulling the strings to his hoodie, Taehyung moved, an abrupt weight on top of Yoongi and his face merely an inch away from Taehyung's. His eyes widened and breath hitched as he realized Taehyung was suddenly sitting on him, using his speed to surprise the younger.
"I am sort of fast, you see." Taehyung smirked and Yoongi hadn't even realized that his arms were pinned to each side of his head. All he could do was stare up at Taehyung, their faces so close that it made him gulp.
"That's cheating," he pouted, a whisper.
Taehyung chuckled, the pretty smile right in front of Yoongi's view. He watched as Taehyung's gaze fell to his lips so unexpectedly, and he couldn't help but blush as Taehyung's expression fell to serious, wonder in his eyes as he merely stared in silence. Is he thinking about kissing Yoongi right now? Would he kiss Yoongi, or is he imagining things?
The weight of Taehyung's thighs straddling Yoongi, the weight of his eyes on his lips— Yoongi's mind went blank in a mere second as he looked at Taehyung's lips as well. So full, so kissable. Yoongi parted his lips, but Taehyung released his wrists and tumbled over, falling onto the grass once again.
"I'm really fast," Taehyung mumbled.
Yoongi stared wide-eyed at the clouds as he reached up to brush his lips. His lips were dry from so much cold air hitting him earlier. Taehyung probably saw how un-kissable they looked, right?
"Right."

That next weekend, they met at Yoongi's porch like usual. And also like usual, Taehyung pulled them up onto the roof of Yoongi's house and they sat there, gazing at the sunset.
"You think too much," Taehyung stated as he watched Yoongi, who was very much thinking to himself. He was thinking about how much more peaceful sitting on this roof would be if he weren't keeping it a secret from his friends— his best friend. Seokjin sometimes looks at him weirdly and Yoongi figured he's catching on. It's only a certain amount of time before he figures out and scolds Yoongi for it.
But Taehyung isn't mean to Yoongi as Seokjin thinks he is. Maybe it is suspicious, but Taehyung hasn't hurt him yet at least.
"You seem to think you know me." Yoongi stretched his arms out to the sky.
Taehyung chuckled lightly. "I do know you," he said. Yoongi raised an eyebrow at him.
"Oh, yeah?"
"Yeah." Taehyung nodded his head. "I know that you like holding hands." He tugged Yoongi's wrist, intertwining their fingers as he pulled their hands into his lap. He smiled at Yoongi, holding onto him tighter as he saw how flustered Yoongi got at the touch.
"Yoongi! Where are you?"
Both Yoongi and Taehyung's eyes widened at each other at the sound of his mother's voice calling out to him. Taehyung quickly picked Yoongi up, releasing their hands. It must've been a foolish thing, the way Taehyung held Yoongi as he jumped off of the house with him. Taehyung was in a rush, completely forgetting that Yoongi isn't some mighty cat who can just land on his feet and not be affected by it.
"Ah, fuck!" Yoongi cried out as they landed on the ground, his foot twisting— breaking. He could feel the bone crack in his foot.
Taehyung panicked as Yoongi immediately fell to the ground by the side of the house, throwing his fist into his mouth and trying his best not to scream at the excruciating pain striking his left foot and leg. He dug his other hand into the dirt in the ground next to him as Taehyung crouched down next to him, apologizing a million times.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck—"
"Yoongi?" His mother suddenly appeared from the corner of the house. "Oh, baby, what happened?" Her eyes widened as she ran towards Yoongi, who had a swollen foot— thank God that he was wearing slide-on sandals because if he was wearing anything other than that, he would probably lose his damn mind taking it off of himself.
Taehyung reached down and picked up Yoongi bridal style, regret on his face.
"I-I'll take him to the hospital."
Yoongi scowled at him. "Oh, damn right you will—"
"Yoongi," his mother warned him for such harsh language. "You can tell me how this happened later. Take him to the hospital. His foot looks broken," she stated.
Taehyung nodded. "Yes ma'am." He stepped by her quickly, running to his car. "I'm so fucking sorry, I panicked," he told Yoongi.
Yoongi cried into his chest. "Asshole," he let out. "You broke my foot, you asshole."
"I didn't mean to!" Taehyung frowned, his eyes wide out of fear and guilt as he pulled his passenger door open with one hand, then carefully put Yoongi in the seat, placing his left shoe in Yoongi's lap to keep. He closed the door and suddenly Yoongi was sweating ten times more, the pain in his body making him want to punch the hell out of everything in his sight. Obviously, he can't punch anything; he really, really wishes he could.
Taehyung drove him to the hospital, almost immediately getting Yoongi back to get x-rays on his foot. Confirmed, he most certainly broke his foot. They gave him medicine to reduce the pain and set him up to get a cast.
Yoongi found himself in a walking boot and crutches over the weekend. He told his mother that he was climbing the tree next to his house and was startled by her scream, and she apologized for surprising him and causing this. Taehyung, who was there for the explanation, cringed to himself. He ended up carrying Yoongi upstairs to his room for him— the cost of shattering his friend's foot.
"Guess we won't be going onto the roof anytime soon," Taehyung said.
Yoongi glared at him as he was placed gently onto his bed. "You think?" He lifted his left leg onto the bed with a permanent pout set on his face. "How do I explain this to Jin?"
"Same thing you told your mom."
"Yeah, right." Yoongi chuckled as he leaned back on the extra pillows that Taehyung bought him. "As if Seokjin would think that I'm climbing trees in my free time."
Taehyung shrugged. "New hobby?"
"Breaking bones is not a hobby," Yoongi reminded him. Taehyung sighed as he plopped down in Yoongi's desk chair.
"I'm really sorry," he said for the millionth time today. "That was truly dumb of me to do. At least it wasn't your whole... leg..."
Yoongi chuckled as Taehyung's voice weakened as he kept speaking to him. "It's okay, really." Yoongi reached for his phone charger next to his bed, hardly reaching it. He looked up at Taehyung, pouting as he wiggled his fingers. Taehyung rolled his eyes as he scooted the chair towards the bed and gave the charger to him.
"I've learned my lesson."
"Good," Yoongi smiled as he plugged in his phone. "I'm glad you did."
