The past few days had been lingering on Elijah's mind constantly. The certainty of it all. He hadn't spoken to or seen his father since, nor Remus. Elijah wouldn't consider himself a skeptical person, or someone who trusts their intuition but when it comes to Remus everything is screaming to avoid him.

His mind is overwhelmed by everything so what does he do? He goes to Fern's, it's Thursday which means William will be there during the day, which instantly brings a smile out of him. He knows he likes William a little too much but he can't find it in himself to care. He knows what they say about same sex relationships, that it's frowned upon but he's never minded it and with these feelings he really doesn't mind.

He isn't sure if these could be considered romantic feelings, maybe they were feelings of envy? He knows William comes from a happy, loving family. He knows what he wants and works for it. He's not afraid, something Elijah very much is.

Could it be more than admiration? Elijah has no idea, all he knows is that he'd choose William's company over everyone, without a doubt in his mind.

Before he knows it he's arrived at Fern's, he doesn't even remember leaving the apartment. He was so caught up in his thoughts. He was greeted by the sight of an empty bar. Another slow day it seems.

There was William with his usual smile that made everyone swoon, the person he was currently talking to could vouch. He's seen her before she was one of the bartenders. They've maybe thrice but it only included which table he sends the drinks to so could that really count?

Before he could debate if he should go over or not Fern, who he hadn't noticed, called his name. "Elijah! Over here!" She exclaimed motioning to where William and the bartender were at. He quickly joined them with the smallest smile. "Hey Lijah." William spoke then leaned his body over for a huge, causing his body and cheeks to heat up. Oh, no. This was a new feeling. He nodded after the hug had finished making the other boy to furrow his brows.

He knows that wasn't his normal reaction to William but he feels nervous after thinking about his feelings too hard.

They went back to their previous conversation which happened to be about them expanding the bar, he slightly tuned out the conversation as he didn't have a need to pay attention– instead he allowed his thoughts to go back to William. It seemed to be all he thought about but he never minded.

The other intrigued him deeply. He knew that. From the bottom of his heart he knew it. He knew it from all their late night talks, he knew from the soft smile William reserved for him, he knew from how both of their eyes lit up when they saw each other. He stopped before he could think more. They're both men, he is not supposed to feel this way about a man.
He's never felt this way about anyone, but he knows that's how you describe when a man loves a woman. He's sure of it.

He snapped out of it when he felt someone tapping him– turning over to see Fern with a gentle smile, "Are you okay?" She mumbled while the other two were still talking. "Yeah, I'm good. Lost in my thoughts." He chuckled, making her join in. "And what are you guys giggling about?" William always had the same joy talking to everyone. "Oh Lijah, have you met Barbara? I think you both have been on a few shifts together!"

"A few times." She replied, giving him a sweet smile. He returned it as William went back to talking. He looked around the bar to see it was still empty. He hummed looking back, "Did you guys have anyone earlier?" He questioned resting his head on his hands. William shook his head frowning slightly. "Only two people but the new bar opened up so I guess everyone wanted to try it." His frown was still evident, Elijah hated that.

He heard there was a new bar, he didn't get the name but it was very close to them. He didn't think a new bar would mean no business for them. As he tuned back into the conversation he realized that is what they were talking about.

"I'm sure it will get busier during night time or trivia, it always is." Fern reasoned, she did know the bar best.

Logically, they knew she was right. For the biggest time this was the place everyone went too, they knew this place. Not only was it a comfort to Elijah but so many other people. No way anyone would leave this place easily.

"She's right, for now we have time to relax and brainstorm different game night ideas!'' Barbara chimed in.

William nodded before going into details about his ideas.

After a few more hours Elijah needed to tap out, he said his goodbyes then took his leave. William followed after him.

"So, what are your plans for this fine evening?" William grinned. "I'm not too sure, I need to go shopping though." "May I join?" He asked knowing Elijah would never say no. He nodded, pulling them across the street.

"This way. Do you have any plans for tonight?" Elijah asked hoping his voice didn't waver, he did sound a little desperate however. "No sir, I am free all night. Same as you." He faced Elijah wiggling his eyebrows. "Since we have nothing to do we should hang out." William suggested.

Elijah secretly thanked the gods above, "I'd love that."

As they continued walking to the store Elijah couldn't help but be glad neither of them liked driving. This was the most peace he felt in years. The sound of birds chirping, the smell after rain, their hands almost colliding. It felt like a dream. After the past few days he had, this made it worth it. He didn't know what this feeling was– if it was normal, all he knew was he adored William.
