Semi-Automatic & The Best of New KH/FF Story Contest

Ok guys!~ Here we go!~ I'm going to be dropping out of Adree's little contest, the Best of New KH/FF Story Contest. I’ve talked to her about my late entry and she told me it’s ok since I had laptop issues, but here’s the thing, I don’t want to get any unfair treatment even if we’re friends.

1. Life is busy as hell right now. I’ve been bombed with test after test and my bad habit of procrastination is seriously kicking my ass to hell and back.

2. I'm still sorting out computer issues. I mean I’ve fixed my computer screen and all of that, but the thing is that it’s not working perfectly. The Wi-Fi connection lately has been really off, so it’s hard to use it as I please.

3. I just really suck at writing to please people. I don’t mean that I'm writing fan service, but I’ve always been an independent soul. Though I love the idea of a contest and getting helpful feedback from everyone- I'm just not the kind of person that can force myself to write. When I sit down with the mentality of “I'm going to write this chappy to post for the contest,” I get queasy and I get writers blocked. Writer’s block is something I don’t get too often actually, there’s usually something causing that and with this contest I think it’s the thought of writing for the sake of winning a contest. It just doesn’t feel right to me.

Therefore, I’ve decided that it’s for the best that I take some deep breaths, take a step back, and to do me. I hope everyone can respect that~

Though that doesn’t mean that Semi-Automatic is getting dropped as a story. Oh hell no. I’ve got an outline for that thing already. It’s going to get an update whenever I finally get off my butt and write it. I think when things settle down a bit I think I’ll be able to get back into my flow.

I Ship It Announcements

Everyone in the Game should be ready. Since my laptop’s back (flaws aside) then I can finally do some hardcore framework laying. And some hardcore commenting on the OCs but that’s another story. I hope you’re all getting around to that. And I’ve had one person drop because they were busy, which I can totally understand. Seriously, I don’t promise anything quick, but that’s because I'm so busy myself. XD

I’ll be posting an example of some of the possible writing scenarios that everyone’s going to have, so be ready for those, ok brahs? Those will be up later this week, with an example of how an OC x Canon is going to work and then an OC x OC scenario (no they’re not all necessarily romantic).

I’ve almost figured out something to do with the whole love interest issue that’s happened. And it doesn’t want to make me yank my hair out yet. I need to spend some more time to think about it though. No one said that laying all this out would be easy, but I'm going to do it and all of you awesome people have offered me your help. So thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!~

Dazzling Lights

To all the Dazzling Lights fans out there, chapter one has gotten revamped. Again. The ending of chapter one was bothering me a bit, and so I decided to alter that. It’s somewhat important, but I think that editing it out was a better choice.

Partially, the poor writing at the end of chapter one was the reason why I haven’t been able to move onto chapter two quite yet. And therefore, I can finally make peace with my writing demons and move onto chapter two. It’s really funny how me being dissatisfied with my writing can lead me to a block on the entire story. I always have to be careful of that in anything I write, but rushing a plotline just isn’t my thing.

But anywho, no, things are better now and I have a general idea of chapter two. I'm just thankful that I have such patient fans that are willing to stick by me and put up with my shit~

Sky Writers

To all the Sky Writers fans, I did just update it. I think everyone’s realized that this is my main focus in my fanfic writing, no? XD It’s my baby honestly, and my absolute favorite thing to write for. There’s not much else going on with this one. I guess one thing I'm really curious to, is to how you guys enjoy everything in it so far? How’s the pacing, character development, writing style in general, who are your favorite characters showcased so far, what are you looking forwards to seeing- like I’d love if you could help me out and give some feedback. I want to know what I'm doing well and what I'm not doing well.

See. I can never go into anything without doing some serious hardcore research. And when I say hardcore, I mean that I start filling up like an entire book with like quotes and notes on characters on things like that alone. It’s a terrible thing really. I need to go watch more of Supernatural, which has a shit ton of seasons, and also I need to rewatch OUAT as well, which had four seasons. Which is still a lot since I almost never sit down and watch anything besides Movies with my baby cousin on occasion.

I think I'm going to do some editing for this, but I do believe this is an official statement that the story is on Hiatus until I can get a really good grasp of both shows.

Would you believe that when I wrote this story I was really only on like season 2 of Supernatural and I’d only seen the first half of season 3 of OUAT? I just hate feeling so grossly underprepared.

Drabbles & My Book of Shit

I have some old drabble/one-shot debts that I haven’t paid yet. Again, I have the plans for them all laid out. It’s just a matter of sitting down and deciding that I'm going to write them and I'm going to post them. I'm a very free spirited person, if you haven’t figured that out yet, so I might just end up taking my good old time with it. I have some close friends to write for, and I promise that I will definitely get my drabble debts paid!

That being said, I was thinking of starting a small one shot / drabble book and leaving my book of shit for important announcements. It’d be for when I need to do something like this, so I wouldn’t have to post it over all of my damned stories to make sure that everyone’s seeing it. XD If I moved everything, I might end up deleting some drabbles or oneshots I'm dissatisfied with and editing in the process. Is that all good with everyone?

Possible Incoming Stories?

I'm a shameless lover of Otome games. That’s right. I said it. Otome games. They’re literally how I get my daily dose of fluff and cheesy ass romance. Personally, I have I do have a special place in my heart for Voltage Inc games. Mainly, that would be the Be My Princess, Be My Princess 2, Love Letters From Thief X, and My Forged Wedding. Those are the main ones that I'm obsessed with at the moment. I used to have some of those stories on here, but I took them off because again, they just had heinous character development and I started to feel like I was writing fan service. And therefore those had to go. I started a different account for them, but I haven’t really used it. I'm thinking of just moving it back to this account here. I like having everything in one place since it makes it easier for me, and moving it to this account gives me an incentive to write it well so I don’t embarrass myself. 'I mean like my feels have to go somewhere, and I might as well post it on here. So you know, there’s that. Any Voltage fans, I want you to speak up loud and proud, like seriously. XD

I really want to challenge myself and do a CYOA. I really do. I was half contemplating making Semi-Automatic into a CYOA, what do you guys think about that? It would be a lot easier writing out all the different parts then. But if not Semi-Automatic… Then I think I’d like to do something like a Pokémon CYOA. It’s a perfect universe to do a CYOA for, I think it would be really fun letting everyone explore the Poke-Verse to their heart’s content, no? It would turn into a GIGANTIC story though, that’s the things haha. Thoughts on this one? CYOA parts wouldn’t be nearly as long as my Sky Writers updates, but I think that I could get it out quicker since they’ll be short blurbs. CYOAs can become really huge really fast though, so I don’t know how practical this one is.

Old Stories in Editing

I love all my stories, and they came with so many great ideas and so many promising futures. But here’s the thing.

Audaces Fortuna Iuvat was fun, but I feel like Semi-Automatic will be taking a similar path that I had planned. So in a way, I think that Semi-Automatic has really just replaced this story. I hope no one’s too torn up about this?

The Lost Princess: First off, I need to make a new cover for this IF I decide to continue it. I mean it was fun to write while it lasted, but I feel like I would get sick of it really quickly. I dunno, who’s really interested in this one? Don’t forget, I'm juggling a lot of stories as it is, so juggling more means slowing down updates. I'm willing to rethink it if a lot of people want me to, buuuuttttt I don’t know how much I want to do it. Especially since I'm more than likely going to be making a story for the Love Letters from Thief X guys anyways. XD

Impossibly Impossible: The premise for this one makes me really happy. I'm such a detective dork, like I live for these things. And therefore, I think that this one has the most likely chance of making a serious comeback… But I’ll be damned if I'm not rewriting the prologue, as much as you guys raved over it.

 I want to thank everyone for being here. The fact that you’re reading this and suffering through my rambling, I think you deserve an award of some sort- right here, right now. Wattpad has been such a great place for me. I went from a silent reader, to a writer, to part of the KH/FF fandom and I'm just so happy to be here where I am. I want you all to know that if you’re afraid to vote and comment- please don’t be. The community is great and you’re guaranteed to meet some awesome friends along the way.

I’ve learned a lot from writing on watty, but there’s still a lot to learn. Of course. But the great part is, that you aren’t quite alone on here. There are plenty of great writers to learn from on the site, and I think you should seriously stop to appreciate it. That being said, I wanted to ask you guys a favor. My writing, how is it? I know that there’s no right way of writing, but I want you guys to tell me what you like and what bothers you about it. You can critique a story, critique my writing style overall- anything. But I really do want to know how to improve my writing and I think that it’s good sometimes to stop and ask everyone about it. This is a two way street of course, you help me, and I’m not the kind of person who will forget it. Besides, you’re going to get better stories to read overall, so why not? I might even do drabbles and scenes with characters as rewards for people, even though I'm still in drabble debt. I really just wanna talk to you guys and learn what you think though.

That being said, I think that we all have a lot to learn from each other. I saw this on another writing site, so I thought that it’d be really fun to try. What if we do a little Round Robin for writing tips? It works like this, we can all add our inputs into one story about some do’s and don’t of writing. Some people may advise characters, some people may give advice on story layouts, some people might give advice on certain fandom do and don’ts. I think that it would be really fun, and really helpful to all of us as writers. Anyone else feeling it too? :)

Though, all of this stuff ties into communication. Don’t be like me when I just got onto watty. Don’t be a silent reader. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there- if you enjoy a story- then at the very least hit the vote button. Even if you think you’re spamming the writer by hitting the vote button for every chapter, you’re actually making their day by showing how much you like it. Make sure to comment, words go a long way. I know that I read over all the comments from my last chapter when I need to get pumped for writing the next chappy. Seeing that support really does make a difference. If you’re not much of a writer, and you just want someone to talk to, then hey! Don’t be afraid to reach out at all! My Private Message box is always open, but if you want an even quicker way of communicating, then just go straight to my gmail. It’s “[email protected]” Except the quotation marks, but you know. There’s also google hangouts and Skype messaging (note, not the video feed, the messaging feature, it’s like a chat function).  

So come on everyone, let’s have a nice long talk on anything and everything. If your comment has to pertain with a particular story, mind leaving on that chapter of the story? If your comment pertains to things in general (which would be nice) or more than one story (also nice) then feel free to leave your comment on wherever you want- though the Book of Shit would probably be best, it’s all whatever to me. Or you can bypass that and just straight up Private Message me or email me your response. I really wanna hear back from you guys on this, so yea. There’s that. ^^
