Ch. 2 - The Daughter of Zeus
Olivia's Pov:
Hephaestus grinned and crossed his arms over his chest as I made my way into his mansion around two in the morning. "Well, aren't you lucky? I was just about to leave for the Underworld." He grinned, stretching out his large, calloused hands towards his iron table filled with what appeared to be blueprints and maps. "I assume you've come to start planning your palace or what not?"
Numbly, I nodded. Hermes's words had still shaken me from earlier. Why would he tell me that he was going to see Percy? Did he really want me to drop everything and run to Earth with him? No, of course not. I shook my head and looked around the black palace of Hephaestus. Hermes was only testing my resolve.
"Yeah, I guess so." I nodded and he grinned a breaming smile at me, it made me almost forget about how disfigured he really was. Hephaestus nodded and unraveled a large blueprint. It was a replica of Mount Olympus.
"So, I was assuming you'd want your palace to be here..." He jabbed a blackened finger on top of a field of empty land right between Artemis and Apollo's palaces. "So you can be close." He trailed off, watching my eyes as they wandered to the farthest point on the map towards a large lake that seemed to drop off the map entirely. It was completely secluded outside of a few minor god residences.
Slowly, I trailed my finger over to that area curiously. "What is that land over there?" I brought my eyes up to watch Hephaestus give me a weary scowl. "Is it off limits?" I added, even though I knew it wasn't, he just didn't want my palace there.
"No, no... It's just that that land is bordering the property of Poseidon, the end of the lake that drops off the map is like a portal to his palace under the sea." When I only gave him a determined, blank stare he sighed and explained further. "Look, Oliviae. I just don't think it's a good idea for you to be neighbors with Poseidon, especially as Zeus barely trusts you."
Smirking, I refused to back down. "It's only a place to stay, besides, if Zeus truly has a problem with it, I'm sure he will voice it to me personally."
Hephaestus frowned deeply at me, not liking the fact I was so easy to challenge Zeus. And maybe he was right, maybe I was stepping on some toes here. But frankly, after being trapped up here for almost a year already, I could care less. If Zeus didn't trust me by now - he never will.
"If you are sure about this, Oliviae." He grinned and circled the property with a felt pen. "Then, it will be done. With sounds better? Greek columns or modernized?"
I grinned and took a dusty blue print from the corner of his desk. Rolling it open, I sketched over the palace of Apollo which was more modernized, and put in some flying buttresses. "How about Gothic art? Not everything should be Greek up here, it looks too standard." I gave him and example and he just nodded thoughtfully, taking notes in his head.
"Alright. You should know that your Father has asked to have a hand in this project, if that's alright with you." Hephaestus rose a brow and I gave it a couple seconds of thought. Apollo's beaming face popped into my mind, and I couldn't help but sigh a little.
"Okay, fine - he can, but use your judgement when giving him things to take care of?" I chuckled and Hephaestus quickly agreed. "Of course, I will only give him a small portion of the job - only things he is good at, trust me."
"I do." I smiled and we shook hands. The work began not a minute after.

Percy's Pov:
I paced around the Infirmary for what seemed like the hundredth time. Luke had been planning this all along. He had known that the Fleece would do more than just heal the camp.
Annabeth watched me nervously as I paced around. She had never left the bedside of the girl. Turns out that when she had screamed last night, it was because the girl was found in the base of the tree that protected the Camp.
Thalia Grace. She was alive.
Last night had been like something straight out of my nightmares, or at least one of my most peculiar dreams.
Hearing Annabeth's scream, I had rushed towards the Hill, sword drawn. In the moonlight, I watched as Chiron and other campers flooded around as well - all worried and with weapons drawn, however, the scene before us was something different entirely.
Laying in the base of the old tree, was a girl. Annabeth was sitting up beside her, checking her temperature and pulse, trying to figure out how this could have possibly happened. Her shining grey eyes darted around the surround people and settled onto mine. "Percy! Help me carve her out!"
Quickly, I uncapped Riptide numbly, only thinking about getting the girl out first, then ask questions later. It only took a mere sharp slice on the thick root to snap the branch that held the girl pinned down to the forest floor.
Annabeth rushed over to Chiron who looked extremely pale and nervous. "Chiron, you know what this means right?"
"Yes, Annabeth, yes I do." His eyes traveled from the unconscious girl to me and he gave me a firm look. "Percy, if you would be so kind as to take the girl to the Infirmary." He said tightly, then shook his head and began trotting down to the Main Hall for Mr. D. "I must inform the others..."
Quickly, I bent down and lifted the girl from the forest floor, she was so light it seemed almost impossible. As I pulled her into my arms, her eyes fluttered open for a few seconds, showing electrifying blue that charged with electricity.
"Hello. I'm Percy, don't worry you're going to be fine, we just need to get you to the Infirmary and have you sorted out. Can you tell me your name?" I spoke slowly as her eyes glazed over and peered around the moonlit camp in frustration, almost hazily.
"Thalia... Thalia Grace."
Thalia Grace, the name bounced back and forth in my head, the name of the girl who had been turned into a tree many years ago. The story still made me tremble:
Years ago, four children were escaping to Camp Half-Blood, but only three of them made it. The names of these children were Annabeth Chase, Luke Castellan, Grover Underwood, and Thalia Grace. As they fought their way through to the Camp, monsters were hot on their trail, until eventually, the monsters had caught up.
Selflessly sacrificing her own life, Thalia Grace stayed behind to protect the others and see them safely to Camp. She acted as a bait to ward off the monsters for her friends.
And so, as Thalia lay dying, her Father, Zeus -not wanting her soul to go to Hades, found another way for her to live. He transformed her into a tree, and created the Barrier, to protect all Half-Bloods from the Monsters and so they would not die the same manner his daughter had.
Her story had been a constant inspiration for me, she had given her life to protect those whom she loved, but that was supposed to be the end of the tale, not the beginning. The was Chiron kept giving Thalia and I weary glances, I just knew there was trouble coming because of this.
And, as I peered down at the girl laying on her cot, I could only register the fact that she would either be one of my greatest friends and allies, or one of my worst enemies.
Olivia's PoV:
Many days had passed since I'd met with Hephaestus and it seemed as it the world was on fire. At least, up in Olympus it seemed to be. The Twelve Olympians - all of them - had been called for an emergency meeting up here. Hades was called up, and The Hunt was cancelled for Artemis, everyone dropped everything and scrambled back to the hive.
Even though it had been weeks, the Major gods were still in the meeting, this was clearly a bad thing - something had happened down on Earth and, if I had a million drachmas, I would bet that Percy had something to do with this, even if it was a side role.
Minor gods were mulling about, rumors had been spread about the meeting - some simple and not very well thought out, while others more malicious and conniving, the majority of them were saying I had a part in it. Though that was something I highly doubted.
I was pretty much ignored up here, and if Zeus had a problem with me, he would most likely send Hermes to nag me - a full on meeting of the gods was something more important, something vital. And I doubted me building my palace next to Poseidon's domain was vital.
One day, while Hephaestus and I were talking about the third floor to the palace, a minor god came screaming down the golden streets, face flushed and hair wild. "I know what is going on! I know what is going on! The Daughter of Zeus! She lives! She lives! There is another Forbidden Child, and her name is Thalia Grace, Daughter of Zeus!"
Hephaestus's face crumpled tightly and I gave him a concerned look. It was just as I had thought, once again, a god had screwed up.
"This is terrible news." Hephaestus sighed and rolled up my blueprints, pocketing them for later. His eyes trailed over to my 'palace' and he forced a happy smile on to his face. "But, on the brighter side of the spectrum, Zeus's iniquities have made him oblivious to the fact you have become neighbors with his brother."
Thalia Grace, the name echoed in the back of my head. She was something important, and while I had no idea how important she was, I knew deep inside myself that Fate would bring us together.
I knew this because I was going to see Percy again, and where Percy was I am sure Thalia would be.

Hey guys! Sorry if it kind of sucks... I'm just not feeling it - I really just want to skim over everything thing and get back to Olivia and Percy, but I'm trying to find a good way to transition over time ! Harder then I thought it would be!
So - until then, more Percy PoV's ;) xxJess
OH And, any recommendations for the person to play Thalia? Cuz I have no idea !
