Danny Pov.

I sit there with Daddy watching the news. When Mommy never came home we got worried. Dad called the police and sent them to the school. The police found the remains of most of the staff, but Mommy was never found. What they did find was a large hole in one of the classrooms. The police have sent out search parties, but they have still found nothing. The story about Mommy's school came on.

"Earlier today, police were sent to Littleville high school. There they found a brutal murder scene. They discovered the remains of five staff members while the sixth is missing. Here is a picture of Allie Grave, the missing teacher. If you find her, call police." The news anchor said. They make it sound like Mommy killed her fellow teachers.

"I miss Mommy..." I tell Daddy. He gives me a hug.

"They'll find her." He assured me. But for some reason, I don't think they will.

Allie Pov.

"Hey wake up! Its time to go!" Xenon yells at me. I'm startled...forgeting about what happened yesterday.

"I'm up! Please stop shaking me!" I replied. I stretched out my arms and legs. I even stretched my tail. I'm going to have to get used to sleeping on stone.

"Come on, its time to go." he said as he walked toward the main cavern. I followed behind as we made our way back over to the queen. Overnight, the queen had grown an egg sack and now there are hundreds of those spiders runnning around.

"Now that you both are here I want you to harvest five people tonight. And Xenon you know your special mission." the Queen said as we stopped under her.

"Yes. I understand." Xenon replied. Five spiders came over to us. One climbed onto my arm and wrapped its tail around it. Another climbed onto my head. Two climbed onto Xenon's arms and another on his back.

"Just stay close to the cave." The queen said as we turned to leave. I know of two houses by this cave. One has a family of three and the other has an old married couple. The drones follow us to the exit of the cave systems.

"Ok, the first house we are going into should be easy. An old couple live there and they should be asleep by now." I tell Xenon. He nodded.

We got to the first house. I looked around to see if there was a key, but there was none. I looked at the lock then at my claw. I wonder if this will work? I place one claw into the lock and turned it. I heard a click and truned the knob. It opened surprisingly.

"Ok everyone in quickly and quietly." I tell them. They crawl in and I'm the last to go in, closing the door behind me. "Stay here until I call for you." I say to two drones. I go upstairs by myself. I look through rooms until I find the old couple. I just let the spiders do what they wanted.

"Come up and grab them." I tell the two. They come up and grabbed them. They took them downstairs and out the front door.

"Ok, before we go to the next house, you are going to work on your jumping. We are going to the roof." Xenon said as we stepped through the front door. I closed the door and followed Xenon who climbed up the side of the house. He jumped to a branch of a nearby tree, then onto the roof of the next house.

I jumped as hard as I could and landed on the house beside him.

"Nice jump. Now we need to work on your landing. Then you should be good." Xenon said. We crawled down the side of the house and met the three drones by the back door. I unlocked the door and entered. I saw the tv was on.

"Let me get this one." I told Xenon. One of the spiders on his arm crawled onto my arm. I snuck over behind the couch. I let the spider crawl and do its own thing. The man was curious about the weird creature he saw. Then the spider jumped for him. He was an easy target. Like the old saying goes, curiosity killed the cat.

"We'll harvest the other two before we take him back." Xenon said. We made our way upstairs. The first room we checked was the woman's room. She was sound asleep. Xenon let the spider crawl up the bed. I left the room to look for the young one. I heard a small scream come from the woman, then silence. I soon found the young girl's room. Xenon crawled in and stood over the girl. Spider stood on his shoulder. It slowly crawled down and jumped onto the pillow beside the girl's head. Xenon nudged the girl slightly. She woke up, but was in a very sleepy looking wake. She screamed though when she saw the spider. And that was the last sound she made.

The last three drones grabbed the people and left out the back door. I followed Xenon out and closed the door behind me.

"Good work today. You have amazing jumping skills. Once we get back to the cave, we'll try landing again." He said as we began to crawl back to the cave.

"Thanks..." I replied. I honestly don't like doing this. We entered the cavern and made our was over to the queen.

"Good job you too. And Xenon, how did training go?" the queen asked.

"It was good. Allie can jump like she has been one of us for a long time. Still needs to work on landing though." he replied.

"Good. Rest up now. Tomorrow we harvest more." the queen told us. Xenon bowed and I bowed too. We now walked back to our cave on the ceiling. I tried to land again but failed. I was closer though.

"Maybe tomorrow you'll get it." Xenon said as he laid down. I shook the dust off then laid down.

"Yea, maybe.." I said as I started to drift off. I'm exausted. I know that my family will be safe for a while. They live near the center of town. Hopefully they don't have to face the fate of death like my friends did.
