"Hey partner, how have you been?" Ban asked, waving to his old comrade, his old buddy, his old friend, his old partner. 

"Don't call me partner," Hoshi stated. Then they both chuckled. Things have never changed. 

"So why did you call me out?" Hoshi asked. 

"I wanted to see my old friend. Can't I just call you out for that?" Ban teased. 

Hoshi clicked his tongue, "You are probably wanting to ask me opinion for Sen & Umeko's wedding gift...I suppose." 

Ban clearly looked surprised, "How did you know?" 

"It obvious. You did the same thing with Jasmine's wedding." Hoshi stated. Ban smiled and wrapped his arm around Hoshi. 

"Yosh! As expected from my partner." Ban cheered. Hoshi just heavily sighed. 

"Don't you have duty call? And don't call me partner" Hoshi asked. 

"Given some days off. Luckily Sen & Umeko's wedding is on one of those days. Man, Fire Squad is tiring." Ban complained. 

"Stop complaining. Do you know how many people wanted to be in there?" Hoshi pointed out. Ban looked at him. He knew Hoshi used to wish that he was the leader of the team and be the red deka at some point. 

"Hai...hai.." Ban stated, sipping his tequila. 

"You can get them a hot spring trip tickets," Hoshi suggested. 

"Eh?" Ban asked, forgetting his main purpose of calling Hoshi out. 

"The wedding gift?" Hoshi stated. 

"Why though?" Ban asked. 

"Baka...Umeko loved taking a long bubble bath remember? Hot Spring would be the perfect gift for them. At least I know Sen doesn't mind accompanying Umeko." Hoshi explained. 

"Ahhh..." Ban nodded, "My partner is sugoi as usual I see! Arigato na!" 

"How many times---" Hoshi was about to say but got interrupted. 

"But isn't it to expensive?" Ban complained again. 

"Your salary is higher than all of us. So don't complain to me that is expensive." Hoshi huffed, sipping his whiskey. 

"Hai...hai.." Ban pouted. 

"By the way, you're paying for the drinks tonight." Hoshi appointed, trying to make Ban's complaints more. But to his surprise, Ban gladly agreed. 

"So..." Ban stated after a few moments of silence.

"uh-huh?" Hoshi asked. 

"I was thinking..." Ban stated. Hoshi could see Ban's hesitation.

"What is it?" Hoshi asked. 

"The Fire Squad is going have someone sent down Earth to help with SPD progress," he explained. Hoshi looked at him carefully.

"So...I might come back here soon..." Ban stated. 

"Really?" Hoshi asked, trying not to sound surprised. But he was happy to hear that Ban might be staying here. It's not like their years as comrades worth nothing. Hoshi was happy and sad for Ban when he left. But if Ban decided to come back here, Hoshi will welcome him with open arm. They might still have their differences but on the line of duty, they are best partners. 

"Yes. I am the most qualified in the team since I am from Earth and I know how we regulate in SPD here better than any one of my team." Ban proudly boasts. 

Hoshi stated, "Mhm...when are you coming back?" 

"It hasn't been decided yet. But definitely in a few months. I'm going to tell others about it too at the wedding. Hey, maybe I could use that as my wedding gift instead!" Ban stated, trying to dodge the case of burning his wallet. 

Hoshi smacked him on the head, "Quit dreaming." 

"Ouch." Ban pouted, rubbing his head. 

Just like that, the two friends, partners, comrades, sat there and talked to each other. Just like old times.

I always laughed at Ban & Hoshi interaction within Dekaranger. 

I'm sorry if Hoshi was a little out of character. 

Comparing to the anime, they are like another Naruto and Sasuke xD
